The Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON) has released a policy document for bird conservation in the urban landscape of the National Capital Region (NCR) in India. The NCR is home to almost one-third of India's bird species and is experiencing rapid urban growth. The document, developed in consultation with various stakeholders, outlines management priorities, strategic approaches, and financing for conserving avian diversity, habitats, and landscapes. The 'New Apuleius' is a set of Latin summaries of Plato's works first published in 2016 by Justin Stover, who attributed it to Apuleius. The present article attempts to assess two key aspects of Stover's argument, viz. his reconstruction of the manuscript transmission of the new text and his use of computer-assisted stylometric techniques. The authors suggest that both strands of his argument are inconclusive. First, it is argued that the transposition of gatherings in the archetype of the Apuleian philosophica as envisaged by Stover is highly unrealistic. Second, replications of Stover's stylometric experiments show that their results are highly dependent on the particular algorithm settings and on the composition of the corpus. It is further shown that Stover's choice of highly specialized stylometric techniques is suboptimal, because popular generalist methods for statistical data analysis are demonstrably more successful in correctly identifying authors of Latin text fragments and do not support the case for Apuleius' authorship of the new text. In situating this picture Sims gives an extensive account of what is known of the dispersed parent manuscript and the literary significance of the moment depicted. The third essay, an account of the conservation of the manuscript by Katherine Beaty and Penley Knipe, reveals a considerable history of interventions of various sorts over time. The attribution of its pictorial verso of kneeling sages to the fifteenth-century painter Bihzad was already discounted by Ettinghausen; Parodi argues cogently for an origin in Shibanid Bukhara. Beginning in 1964, the PRC party-state orchestrated the resettlement of thousands of young people from cities to erosion-prone areas in China's Loess Plateau to form "water and soil conservation teams" (shuitu baochi zhuanyedui). Although their ostensible mission was to limit erosion by building terraces and planting trees, documents related to conservation teams emphasized their capacity to thoroughly reform urban youth while mobilizing them to do the work of remaking the environment. Provincial and county archives, along with fieldwork conducted at the site of one water and soil conservation team in Shaanxi province's Baishui county, indicate that conservation teams did not realize either of these objectives. Due to urban youth's inexperience with agriculture and conservation, they did little to promote environmental management. At the same time, unruly teenagers who migrated to the countryside to join conservation teams, as well as the cadres who oversaw them, continued to engage in transgressive behavior. Soon after he was consecrated bishop in 963, Æthelwold of Winchester (909–84) began to promulgate a series of new rules for worship and religious life in the monasteries of England. In one passage that is well known to theatre historians, Æthelwold insisted on the following performance of the Easter morning liturgy. While the third lesson is being read aloud, four of the brothers should dress themselves. One of them, wearing an alb, should come in as though intent on other business and go stealthily to the place of the sepulchre, and there he should sit quietly…. The three remaining brothers … should make their way slowly and haltingly, coming before the place of the sepulchre as if they are seeking something. For these things are done in imitation of the angel seated on the tomb and of the women coming with perfumes to anoint the body of Jesus. The article provides an overview to the documents concerning the Safavid period obtained from the Document Center at the Holy Shrine in Mashhad, Iran. It notes that the department of documents and publications started to operate as section for documents and publications in October 1998 with over 283,000 historical documents of the Shrine and 180,000 from learned families. Moreover, it was renamed the Directorate of Documents and Publications with the sections of Documents Section and Publications section. Several papers composing the Documents Section includes manuscripts of royal orders, papers from Martyr's Foundation, Hajj Hoseyn Aqa Malek collection and other miscellaneous collections.

The article discusses the need for a new edition of the "Appendix Probi." Written at Bobbio, the "Appendix Probi" is the third of the five short compilations transmitted in a single manuscript known by the Latin and Romance linguists. Texts were edited in 1837 by J. von Eichenfeld together S. Endlicher and was reproduced many times in anthologies of "Vulgar Latin" yet no transcription was present. Moreover, the two items available in the manuscript was illegible because of the water damage. Because of the said damage, the manuscript containing a number of marks and comments were reproduced by the author. A copy of 227 items of abbreviations and other marks reproduced and printed in Italics is also provided in the article.

The article provides information on the first accomplishment of the manufacture of the lyre known as Hermes and the qualitative difference between the rams' and the ewes' intestines. It mentions that Hermes attached seven strings to the newly fashioned instrument as the last stage of the lyre making process. On the other hand, the rams' and the ewes' affects the string sounds produces by the lyre yet the only distinction of the two is the so-called "Paradoxographus Palatinus." Moreover, variants of Merc. and Antigonus manuscripts present difficulties which did not appear in archaic epic or elegy.

This study examines the impact of the 1512 Medici restoration on the antiphonaries and graduals of the Florentine cathedral. Seven choirbooks are recognizably Medicean in their artistic and, in one significant case, in their liturgical and musical content. Whether through depictions of the family's most distinguished members — notably Lorenzo il Magnifico and Pope Leo X — or the detailed representations of contemporary events in which the Medici were the protugonists, or whether through the creation of a new Office for Florentine bishop-saint Zenobius, these lavish manuscripts reflect the themes of control and propaganda central to the years of the Medici restoration.
