Abstract

The article discusses the transition period and the acceleration of the Chinese socialist transformation in the 1950's. China has witnessed active academic debates on assessment, while contrary views emerged in relation to the assessment of the Sixth Plenary of the 11th Party Congress in 1981 on the socialist transformation. There was a controversy between political leaders Mao Zedong and Deng Zihui in 1955 regarding the pace of transformation in agriculture.
