A national survey of 1,000 adult Canadians was conducted between Nov 19 and 26, 1992, to determine their assessment of Canada's general prospects for 1993. 53% of Canadians were optimistic that 1993 would be a better year than 1992. On the prospects of the economy, 50% of the respondents believe thiings will be much the same while 53% said that unemployment will most likely increase in 1993. The results of surveys in 47 countries concerning their economic, industrial and world peace prospects for 1993 are summarized.
