The article presents a case study of 43-year-old man from South Korea infected with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The patient had been receiving thiamazole for seven years for hyperthyroidism. The patient was provided oseltamivir medication until identified as being infected with MERS. The article discusses MERS-S ppNT as sensitive and specific assay for detecting MERS.
