The concept of China’s maritime rights protection in the new era was put forward by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, which accurately grasped the development law of international maritime politics, summarized the experience of maritime rights protection at home and abroad, and combined with China’s maritime rights protection situation, tasks and national development strategy. It is of distinctive characteristics of the times. The concept guides us to regard the maintenance of marine rights and interests as an important part of the overall strategy of building a maritime power, strengthen the determination and confidence of maritime rights protection, and adhere to the principles of bottom line thinking, peaceful settlement of disputes and regulation and control of disputes through rules and mechanisms.
