In this small paper, a review is made of the regional legislative developments on integrated pollution prevention and control, that is, with a strict interpretation of what are really manifestations of this technique, such as the one advocated here, of the legislative developments of the figure of the integrated environmental authorization (AAI). The thesis of the work is that, given the increasing regulatory density of European Community legislation and the basic state legislation on the subject, the current and foreseeably future role of such developments is very secondary, and focused on the articulation of the AAI with other sectoral interventions on the industrial facilities included within its scope of application.
