The article offers information on the guidelines and decision aids which can be used by patients and clinicians in making an evidence-based decisions. It states that the goals of utilizing these tools will include providing an expressed, evidence-based description of the benefits and risks of an intervention and outline areas with lacking of evidence. An overview of the steps in the clinical practice guidelines are presented.
