Abstract

This patient presented to us before the current epidemic of mpox, which should now be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients with similar lesions. A 21-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with a 2-week history of lesions on her left hand. Lesion swabs were negative for HSV 1, HSV 2 and VZV via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and bacterial culture. [Extracted from the article]
