Objašnjavamo matematički model za izborni proces. Iskazujemo teoreme nemogućnosti, prema kojima određeni „demokratski” zahtjevi na metodu određivanja pobjednika izbora dovode do postojanja „diktatora”.

U članku prezentiramo igre Nim i Chomp i njihovu generalizaciju. Prva igra poznata je čitateljima math.e iz članka Matka Botinčana Kombinatorne igre, objavljenog u šestom broju, i ima jednostavnu pobjedničku strategiju. Za drugu igru može se dokazati da igrač koji je prvi na potezu ima pobjedničku strategiju, ali je njezin opis poznat samo u nekim specijalnim slučajevima. Na obje igre odnosi se teorem S. Byrnesa o periodičnosti igara na parcijalno uređenim skupovima koji je autoru, tada srednjoškolcu, priskrbio stipendiju od 100000 američkih dolara.

We investigate finite linear spaces consisting of two symmetric configurations. A construction method using projective planes is presented, giving a possibly infinite number of examples. Other examples are constructed by difference families and automorphism groups, including a complete classification of the smallest case. A question whether any Steiner 2-design with twice as many lines as points belongs to this family of linear spaces is raised, and answered in the affirmative for all known examples of such designs.

In this article designs with parameters S(2,4,28) and nontrivial automorphism groups are classified. A total of 4466 designs were found. Together with some S(2,4,28)'s with trivial automorphism groups found by A.Betten, D.Betten and V.D.Tonchev this sums up to 4653 nonisomorphic S(2,4,28) designs.
