The paper presents a new type of active knee prosthesis, which used geared linkage transmission mechanism to realise an optimum movement of the knee joint. The geared linkage with linear actuator can reproduce an approximated linear transmission function for a very large swivel angle. This new prosthesis mechanism will quicklier improve the work capacity of the employers affected by some particular occupational risks that can cause diseases on their knees. This study will be apply in the context of the research project "interdisciplinary research for the occupational risk evaluation platform development with impact upon the safety culture in organization" (ID 1022) finaced by CNCSIS in Romania.
