COVID-19 is frightening the health of billions of persons and speedily scattering worldwide. Medical studies have revealed that the majority of COVID-19 patients. X-ray of COVID-19 is extensively used because of their noticeably lower price than CT. This research article aims to spot the COVID-19 virus in the X-ray of the chest in less time and with better accuracy. We have used the inception-v3 available on the cloud platform transfer learning model to classify COVID-19 infection. The online Inception v3 model can be reliable and efficient for COVID-19 disease recognition. In this experiment, we collected images of COVID-19-infected patients, then applied the online inception-v3 model to automatically extract features, and used a softmax classifier to classify the COVID-19 images. Finally, the experiment shows inception v3 is significant for COVID-19 image classification. Our results demonstrate that our proposed inception v3 model available on the cloud platform can detect 99.41% of COVID-19 cases between COVID-19 and Lung Mask diseases in 44 min only. We have also taken images of the normal chest for better outcomes. To estimate the computation power of the model, we collected 6018 COVID-19, Lung Masks, & Normal Chest images for experimentation. Our projected model offered a trustworthy COVID-19 classification by using chest X-rays. In this research paper, the inception v3 model available on the cloud platform is used to categorize COVID-19 infection by X-ray images. The Inception v3 model available on the cloud platform is helpful to clinical experts to examine the enormous quantity of human chest X-ray images. Image-based surgical tool localisation and detection play an important role in developing intelligent systems for operating theatres of the future. In literature, proposed approaches require large amounts of data that are fully annotated with tool positions in the image. In this paper, a deep learning framework, trained on binary tool presence, was evaluated for surgical tool localisation in laparoscopic images. Gradient class activation maps (Grad-CAMs) were extracted from an attention-CNN model. The Grad-CAMs were then processed to generate bounding boxes over the surgical tools. Experimental results showed better performance of the attention-CNN compared to the base CNN model with mean tool localisation precision of 72.4% and 28.3%, respectively. Sentiment analysis refers to determining the polarity of the opinions represented by text. The paper proposes an approach to determine the sentiments of tweets in one of the Indian languages (Hindi, Bengali, and Tamil). Thirty-nine sequential models have been created using three different neural network layers [recurrent neural networks (RNNs), long short-term memory (LSTM), convolutional neural network (CNN)] with optimum parameter settings (to avoid over-fitting and error accumulation). These sequential models have been investigated for each of the three languages. The proposed sequential models are experimented to identify how the hidden layers affect the overall performance of the approach. Lung cancer is considered to be one of the deadly diseases that threaten the survival of human beings. It is a challenging task to identify lung cancer in its early stage from the medical images because of the ambiguity in the lung regions. This paper proposes a new architecture to detect lung cancer obtained from the CT images. The proposed architecture has a three-stream network to extract the manual and automated features from the images. Among these three streams, automated feature extraction as well as the classification is done using residual deep neural network and custom deep neural network. Whereas the manual features are the handcrafted features obtained using high and low-frequency sub-bands in the frequency domain that are classified using a Support Vector Machine Classifier. This makes the architecture robust enough to capture all the important features required to classify lung cancer from the input image. Hence, there is no chance of missing feature information. Finally, all the obtained prediction scores are combined by weighted based fusion. This research focuses on an improved automatic target recognition algorithm for solving the classification challenge of ground-moving targets from pulsed-Doppler radar. First, it was studied how decision-making intervals affect the proposed algorithm. Second, the altering of the data augmentation process was investigated. Third, a consideration of the three time-frequency signal representations and finally the use of different deep learning models for the classification issues were examined. It is proven that the proposed algorithm can efficiently recognize all targets enclosed in the publicly available RadEch dataset, with 4 s of radar echoes. When the decision-making time is only 1 s, a classification probability of 99.9% was obtained, which is an improvement related to the other research studies in this area. Furthermore, when the decision-making time is reduced 16 times the classification accuracy is reduced by only 1.3%. Identifying two anatomically similar species of Cupressaceae, Chamaecyparis obtusa and Thujopsis spp., is important to better understand the culture of wood use in Japan. However, the conventional method, which involves observing their cross-field pitting, cannot identify them in many cases. This study solves the above problem by introducing an anatomical criterion based on the micro fibril angle (MFA). MFA values were obtained through two-dimensional MFA images using the uniaxial optical anisotropy of cellulose microfibrils. A combination of the preprocessed MFA images and a convolutional neural network (CNN) yielded an accuracy nearly of 90% in classifying these species in cases of present and old wood specimens. Our feature extraction and classification techniques provide a new way for describing the anatomical features of wood and identifying featureless softwoods. Using the model interpretation-related methodologies of the CNN, distinct features of the two wood species were partly explained by MFA anisotropy in the S2 wall induced by the existence of pits. Surgical workflow analysis in laparoscopic surgeries has been studied widely during last years because of its various applications. For example, optimising the schedule of operating rooms (OR) and developing a context-aware system that supports surgical team during the intervention. Surgical phase recognition has been applied to various kinds of laparoscopic procedures, mainly of type cholecystectomy. Sigmoid resection procedures are considered more complex than cholecystectomy, and they have not been extensively studied. Therefore, the focus of this work is to study phase recognition in sigmoid resection. In this paper, a convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture and Hidden Markov Model (HMM) were evaluated for performing phase recognition in sigmoid resection videos. The CNN is an extension of a pretrained model, and it was fine-tuned to perform the recognition. To consider the temporal aspect of the phase sequences, confidences obtained by the CNN were then provided into a HMM to release final classification. Experimental results show a low performance of the proposed method to recognise surgical phases in such complex procedures. Therefore, the dataset used for the evaluation was also reviewed, and statistics of each phase were generated.

Multiple surveillance cameras provide huge video resources that need further mining to collect traffic stream data such as license plate recognition (LPR). However, these surveillance cameras have limited spatial resolution, which may not always suffice to precisely recognize license plates by existing LPR systems. This work is focused on the LPR method in low-quality images from surveillance video screenshots on urban road. The methodology we proposed is based on vehicle tracking and result integration, and we recognize the plate with an end-to-end method without character segmentation. First, we track each vehicle to get vehicle tracking sequence. Moreover, a plate detector based on an object detection framework is trained to detect license plates of each vehicle from the sequence and a license plate sequence is formed. In addition, an end-to-end convolutional neural network architecture is applied to recognize license plates from the sequence. Finally, we integrate the recognition result of continuous frames to get the final result. Evaluation results on multiple datasets show that our method significantly outperforms others without segmentation or integration in real traffic scene. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Deep learning is an effective approach to solving image recognition problems. People draw intuitive conclusions from trading charts. This study uses the characteristics of deep learning to train computers in imitating this kind of intuition in the context of trading charts. The main goal of our approach is combining the time-series modeling and convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to build a trading model. We propose three steps to build the trading model. First, we preprocess the input data from quantitative data to images. Second, we use a CNN, which is a type of deep learning, to train our trading model. Third, we evaluate the model's performance in terms of the accuracy of classification. The experimental results show that if the strategy is clear enough to make the images obviously distinguishable the CNN model can predict the prices of a financial asset.
