The objective of this paper was to verify by means of a descriptive case study the students' acceptance for incorporating educational guides in exe-learning to the teaching-learning means system for the subject Mathematics II with freshmen of Food Sciences in the academic year 2012-2013 in attended study modality, at the University of Camagüey “Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz", Cuba. It has managed to implement a learning object in order to guide the independent study and encourage self-learning. This is a website supported on exe -learning that has instructional devices for reading activities, reflection and self- evaluation. In the work performed the case study showed as a result the adoption of this learning object in the means system of the subject by the students and positive results in 5 of the 6 variables used. A majority of freshmen of Food Science explored the learning object implemented and used it in the independent study of three topics. In the means system of the subject the more accepted resource by the students was the companion book "Calculus with Early Transcendent" by James Stewart, but they recognize the value of the educational guide in exe-learning in order to achieve focus on the examples and similar exercises to those made in classroom activities.
