Since the publication of the expurgated version of the “Diary” of Nijinsky in 1936, it has been considered a document of self-analysis that documents the development of a mental crisis. Joan Acocella, the editor of the first unexpurgated version of the diary published in English in 1999 reflects on the beauty and “nobility” of the text that had been rewritten by Romola Nijinsky and was the only version known until then, almost preferring it over the original. For her the main value of publishing Nijinsky’s text as it had been written by him is documental. In this article, with the aid of various texts by Jean-Luc Nancy, we will try to offer a different reading and to look for a different meaning (or rather sense) that this almost illegible text could have. We will look at several drawings made by Nijinsky and we will evoke the experience of dance in order to open up the sounds and the senses of the writing. It could be that what we will find is an existence “in crisis”, that is an existence that ex–sists, that opens, that se détache. It could be that what we will find is the creation of a world., Desde que se publicó en versión expurgada en 1936 el “Diario” de Nijinsky fue considerado como un documento de autoanálisis que registra el desarrollo y el avance de una crisis mental. En la introducción a la edición íntegra de 1999, Joan Acocella, la editora, reflexiona sobre la mayor belleza y la “nobleza” de la versión conocida hasta entonces, reescrita por Romola Nijinsky, dejando entrever que casi la preferiría. La justificación para publicar lo que Nijinsky realmente escribió, para ella, es su valor documental. En este trabajo, apoyándonos en algunos textos de Jean-Luc Nancy, intentaremos ofrecer otra lectura posible y buscar otro sentido para este texto apenas legible. Acudiremos a algunos de los dibujos de Nijinsky y a la experiencia de la danza para abrir los sonidos y los sentidos de la escritura, tal vez, para descubrir, si, acaso, se puede tratar de una existencia “en crisis”, eso es, una existencia que ex-siste, se abre, se détache. Tal vez, incluso, se trate de la creación de un mundo.

Drawing on a hermeneutic-critical dialogue first with M. Scheler’s position and then with M. Henry’s stance, this article attempts a phenomenological analysis of feelings as intentional acts. First, it explores the essence of feeling as a strict correlation between the self-affectivity experienced by the lived body (subjective correlate) and the pathetic character of the world (objective correlate).This relationship is characterized according to a twofold reversion of the intentional direction that holds between both correlates. Second, the notion of “capability of taking interest in” is introduced as an originary transcendental condition of possibility for feelings., A partir de un diálogo hermenéutico-crítico con el pensamiento primero de M. Scheler y luego de M. Henry el artículo emprende un análisis fenomenológico de los sentimientos en tanto actos intencionales. Primero se elucida la esencia del sentimiento como una estricta correlación entre la auto-afectividad experimentada en el cuerpo viviente (correlato subjetivo) y el carácter patético del mundo (correlato objetivo), y se caracteriza esta correlación en función de una doble reversión de la dirección intencional que se da entre ambos correlatos. Luego se introduce la noción de “interesabilidad” como condición originaria tracendental de posibilidad de todo sentimiento.

Transparency is a constant feature in Ramón Gaya’s work. But it is not just an idea that, in the shape of glass vases, mugs, cans or mirrors, is repeated in his paintings with an unusual insistence. It means also the effort to make his writing a clear way to communicate his thought on art. A complete strategy is then delineated by the artist, who invites us to consider his work as a deep and complex reflection, deliberately hidden behind its apparent simplicity, through a realism that, far from showing us what is on the picture, arises the question on the relationship of art towards nature, life and towards the individual artist himself as a creator., La transparencia es una constante en la obra de Ramón Gaya. Pero no se trata sólo de una idea que bajo la forma del cristal, a partir de vasos, jarras, recipientes o espejos, se repite con inusitada fijeza en sus pinturas, sino también del empeño por hacer de su escritura una vía límpida de comunicar su pensamiento sobre el arte. Se perfila así toda una estrategia por parte del artista que nos invita a valorar su obra como una profunda y compleja reflexión, intencionalmente disimulada tras su apariencia de simplicidad, en torno a un realismo que, lejos de mostrarnos lo que está en el cuadro, nos interroga sobre las relaciones del arte con la naturaleza, con la vida y con el propio individuo, artista creador.

Hegel’s definition of music as Kunst des Gemüts do not refer to the simple expression of feelings, but to the fact that only the music is directed to the self, the self as such, absolutely. That music is not only expression of particular feelings, but of pure feeling or subjectivity itself, is based on the most decisive feature that share music and soul: the temporality. Music expresses the self in its radically temporal essence. It is not necessary to emphasize the metaphysical function that follows from this conception of music. Schlegel, Hegel holds a romantic conception of music., La definición hegeliana de la música como Kunst des Gemüts no alude a la simple expresión de sentimientos, sino al hecho de que únicamente la música se dirige al yo, al sí mismo como tal, absolutamente. Que la música no sea solamente expresión de sentimientos particulares, sino del sentimiento puro o la subjetividad en sí, se fundamenta en el rasgo más determinante que comparten la música y el alma: la temporalidad. La música expresa al yo en su esencia radicalmente temporal. No es necesario apostillar la función esencialmente metafísica que desprende de esta concepción de la música. Muy distante de los orígenes románticos de un Wackenroder, un E.T.A. Hoffmann o un F. Schlegel, Hegel mantiene una concepción de la música inconfundiblemente romántica.

Kant´s notion of community is more complex than what is suggested by a hasty political thought. In the alternative between the two possible meanings of this notion, communio and commercium (respectively referring to a predominant substantial community and a reciprocal interaction among individuals substantial in themselves), Kant advocates for the latter. However, we cannot deduce from this that the kantian stance should be equated without further ado with that of those who defend liberalism, as opposed to the communitarians. Kant aims also at the formation of a sphere of commonness which encompasses the concepts of justice, truth, beauty and the good. Nevertheless, such a sphere doesn’t preexist to the interaction of individuals in the context of civil society; on the contrary, it springs from the successful moral encounters in that same context. Kant´s stance could be described as critical republicanism, one that aims at the formation of civil links among citizens at the same time that criticizes all forms of dogmatic expression of community. Such a type of dynamic community of rational beings establishes its links through the construction of a common sense able to lay the foundations of consent. Without this, critical rationality would be a purely destructive activity., El concepto de “comunidad” en Kant es mucho más complejo de lo que un pensamiento político apresurado nos sugiere. De las dos posibles acepciones que dicho concepto comporta, communio y commercium, referidas respectivamente a una comunidad sustancial predominante sobre el individuo y a una interacción recíproca entre individuos en sí mismos sustanciales, Kant se decanta por la segunda de ellas. Sin embargo, de ello no puede deducirse que la posición kantiana sea asimilable sin más a la de los defensores del liberalismo, enfrentados a las posturas comunitaristas. Kant aspira también a la formación de una esfera de lo común en la cual quedarían englobadas las nociones de justicia, verdad, belleza y bondad. Sin embargo, dicha esfera común no preexiste a la interacción entre los individuos en el marco de la sociedad civil; por el contrario, se conforma a partir de los encuentros morales exitosos en ese mismo marco. La posición de Kant podría ser definida como un republicanismo crítico, que aspira a la formación de lazos de civilidad entre los ciudadanos al tiempo que somete a crítica las formas dogmáticas de expresión de la comunidad. Este tipo de comunidad dinámica de seres racionales establece sus nexos mediante la formación de un sentido común capaz de fundamentar los consensos, sin lo cual la racionalidad crítica sería una actividad puramente destructiva.
