The following article analyses the theme of freedom and free will in the Divine Comedy, particularly in Purgatorio, with a focus on Cato as a symbol of the will and moral freedom. The relationship between freedom and free will is explored, with a comparison between ancient and Christian conceptions. A didactic unit is proposed to deepen these concepts, involving students in an interdisciplinary journey that includes literature, philosophy and theology. Objectives, content, and teaching methods are outlined, as well as assessment methods including tests, discussions and projects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
