Abstract

Anti-HBs antibodies in sera from HBs vaccinated persons and from individuals after recovery from hepatitis B were characterized with monoclonal IgG subclass specific antibodies in ELISA. In vaccinees, anti-HBs antibodies were found to belong predominantly to IgGl and IgG4 subclass. In non-vaccinated persons, various combination of subclasses in the antibodies were present; here also, the IgGl was the predominant subclass.
