Tetracyclines are widely used in Chinese apiculture. However, limited information is available on the presence of tetracycline residues in honey and the sources, degradation patterns, and associated health risks of these compounds. In this study, the presence of tetracyclines in honey samples across China was investigated over a four-year period. Additionally, the risks of dietary intake, as well as the sources and degradation patterns of tetracyclines in honey, were assessed. The three-dimensional spatial distributions (floral region, geographical region and entomological origin) of tetracyclines contamination varied significantly. Tetracycline residues in honey posed a moderate risk to children aged 3-10 years in Northwest China. Source analysis indicated that colony migration serves as the primary source of tetracyclines in honey. Based on the degradation patterns of tetracyclines in honey within colonies and during storage, oxytetracycline is more readily degraded than other tetracyclines. The main degradation products of tetracyclines are epimers and dehydration products, and the effects of these products on human health and the environment should be further evaluated in future studies. Objectives: The relationships between socioeconomic status (SES) and blood pressure changes among older adults in China remain unclear. This study aimed to examine the associations between SES and rates of blood pressure changes among Chinese older adults., Study Design: Community-based, prospective, longitudinal cohort study., Methods: This study included 13,541 participants aged ≥65 years from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey between 2002 and 2018. SES was assessed by educational level, occupation, household yearly per capita income, and financial support. The estimated annual changes (EACs) of blood pressure were computed as the difference in blood pressure levels between any two adjacent surveys divided by the time interval. Associations between SES and EACs of blood pressure were evaluated using generalised estimating equations., Results: Lower SES was significantly associated with greater annual increases of blood pressure among Chinese older adults. The effect of SES on EACs of blood pressure was more pronounced among non-hypertensive participants. Compared to EACs among non-hypertensive participants with high SES, multivariable-adjusted EACs among those with low SES increased by 0.57 mmHg (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.16, 0.99), 0.32 mmHg (95% CI: 0.07, 0.57), and 0.40 mmHg (95% CI: 0.13, 0.66) for systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and mean arterial pressure, respectively., Conclusions: This study revealed strong associations between SES and EACs of blood pressure among Chinese older adults, especially in the non-hypertensive population. The growing and increasingly intensified agricultural sector exerts major pressures on the environment. Specifically, nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) runoff can induce eutrophication in freshwater ecosystems. To formulate environmental strategies for controlling eutrophication, decision-makers commonly consider the importance of pollutant contributors before developing sector-specific environmental policies. These types of science-based decisions benefit from nutrient models that quantify nutrient transport and fate. However, due to a lack of fertilizer application data, distributed models are generally not suitable for most rural regions with extensive agriculture, while lumped models cannot properly characterize the spatial variation of nutrient fate in these regions. To assess the nutrient contributions from different emission sources to freshwater, we developed a localized semi-distributed model to simulate total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) in 52 inflow rivers of Fuxian Lake Basin in China. The results show that diffuse sources contributed 82 % TN and 92 % TP loading to the inflow rivers. The highest eutrophication potentials (i.e., loading per area) is from the built environment, which is more than 10 times that of forests, but the contribution of the built environment to total diffuse loading is only the second-highest as it occupies 8.7 % of the surface area. Farmland is the main contributor, generating 49 % of diffuse TN and 57 % TP, respectively. Our results show that promoting a 10 % increase in nutrient use efficiency would reduce 5 % of N and 30 % of P diffuse loadings to the rivers. Through examining the impact of nutrient use efficiency, we emphasize the potential trade-offs between food productivity and environmental effects. Background: Vitamin D deficiency and disability are both prevalent among older adults. However, the association between them has rarely been investigated in the oldest-old subjects (aged ≥80 y), and the causality remains unclear., Objective: This study aimed to elucidate the causal effect of vitamin D on the incident risk of disability in activities of daily living (ADL) among Chinese oldest-old based on the 2012-2018 Chinese Healthy Ageing and Biomarkers Cohort Study., Methods: Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] concentrations and ADL status at baseline and follow-up interviews were documented. Cox regression models were applied among 1427 oldest-old (mean age, 91.2 y) with normal baseline ADL status. One sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses were performed on a subset of 941 participants with qualified genetic data, using a 25(OH)D-associated genetic risk score as the genetic instrument., Results: During a median follow-up of 3.4 y, 231 participants developed disability in ADL. Serum 25(OH)D concentration was inversely associated with the risk of disability in ADL [per 10 nmol/L increase hazard ratio (HR) 0.85; 95% CI: 0.75, 0.96]. Consistent results from MR analyses showed that a 10 nmol/L increment in genetically predicted 25(OH)D concentration corresponded to a 20% reduced risk of ADL disability (HR 0.80; 95% CI: 0.68, 0.94). Nonlinear MR demonstrated a monotonic declining curve, with the HRs exhibiting a more pronounced reduction among individuals with 25(OH)D concentrations below 50 nmol/L. Subgroup analyses showed that the associations were more distinct among females and those with poorer health conditions., Conclusions: Our study supports an inverse causal relationship between serum 25(OH)D concentration and the risk of disability in ADL among Chinese oldest-old. This protective effect was more distinct, especially for participants with vitamin D deficiency. Inefficient global nutrient (i.e., phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N)) management leads to an increase in nutrient delivery to freshwater and coastal ecosystems and induces eutrophication in these aquatic environments. This process threatens the various species inhabiting these ecosystems. In this study, we developed regionalized characterization factors (CFs) for freshwater eutrophication at 0.5 × 0.5-degree resolution, considering different fates for direct emissions to freshwater, diffuse emissions, and increased erosion due to agricultural land use. The CFs were provided for global and regional species loss of freshwater fish. CFs for global species loss were quantified by integrating global extinction probabilities. Results showed that the CFs for P and N impacts on freshwater fish are higher in densely populated regions that encompass either large lakes or the headwaters of large rivers. Focusing on nutrient-limited areas increases country-level CFs in 51.9 % of the countries for P and 49.5 % of the countries for N compared to not considering nutrient limitation. Objectives: Previous studies investigated factors associated with mortality. Nevertheless, evidence is limited regarding the determinants of lifespan. We aimed to develop and validate a lifespan prediction model based on the most important predictors., Design: A prospective cohort study., Setting and Participants: A total of 23,892 community-living adults aged 65 years or older with confirmed death records between 1998 and 2018 from 23 provinces in China., Methods: Information including demographic characteristics, lifestyle, functional health, and prevalence of diseases was collected. The risk prediction model was generated using multivariate linear regression, incorporating the most important predictors identified by the Lasso selection method. We used 1000 bootstrap resampling for the internal validation. The model performance was assessed by adjusted R 2 , root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC)., Results: Twenty-one predictors were included in the final lifespan prediction model. Older adults with longer lifespans were characterized by older age at baseline, female, minority race, living in rural areas, married, with healthier lifestyles and more leisure engagement, better functional status, and absence of diseases. The predicted lifespans were highly consistent with observed lifespans, with an adjusted R 2 of 0.893. RMSE was 2.86 (95% CI 2.84-2.88) and MAE was 2.18 (95% CI 2.16-2.20) years. Depressive symptoms have a significant impact on the quality-of-life among the oldest old (aged ≥ 80 years) in the population. Current research on the association of blood mercury with depressive symptoms has mainly targeted the general population. However, it is unclear whether this association is present in the oldest old. We used data from the Healthy Aging and Biomarker Cohort Study carried out in 2017-2018, with 1154 participants aged ≥ 80 years eligible for analysis. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was employed to detect blood mercury (Hg) levels, while the CES-D10 depression scale was used to assess depressive symptoms. The association between blood mercury levels and depressive symptoms was investigated using log-binomial and Poisson regression models. We also used restricted cubic splines (RCS) to assess the linear or nonlinear association of blood mercury with depressive symptoms scores. The 1154 participants ranged in age from 80 to 120 years, while the geometric mean of blood mercury concentration was 1.01 μg/L. After adjustment for covariates, log-binomial and Poisson regression analyses revealed a statistically significant, positive association of blood mercury with depressive symptoms. In comparison to the first tertile, the adjusted relative risks of blood mercury and the presence of depressive symptoms in the second and third tertiles were 1.55 (1.20-1.99) and 1.45 (1.11-1.90), respectively. The RCS model showed a linear association between blood mercury level and depressive symptoms scores. In conclusion, among the oldest old, we demonstrated that blood mercury levels were positively associated with depressive symptoms. Lead (Pb) is a widespread environmental contaminant, associated with a higher risk of functional impairment that can lead to frailty in older adults. However, few studies focused on the association of Pb exposure with frailty among the oldest old (aged ≥ 80 years). In this study, we aimed to assess the associations of Pb with frailty and its components in the oldest old. The included individuals were the oldest old aged ≥ 80 years who participated in a 2017 cross-sectional survey of the Healthy Aging and Biomarkers Cohort Study. Frailty was ascertained by the frailty index, which was created based on health deficits. We used logistic regression models to estimate the association of blood Pb with frailty and its components. The geometric mean and median of blood Pb were 38.51 μg/L and 36.27 μg/L among the oldest old, respectively. Compared with the first quartile of blood Pb, participants in the fourth quartile had higher risk of frailty and its components, the ORs are 1.71 (1.22-2.41), 1.99 (1.35-2.94), 1.91 (1.25-2.93), 1.57 (1.13-2.17) and 1.43 (1.05-1.96), for frailty, ADL disability, IADL disability, functional limitations, and hearing loss in the oldest old, respectively. There was a significant interaction between blood Pb and frailty in different age groups. In conclusion, our findings provide preliminary evidence that higher blood Pb may increase the risk of frailty among the oldest old by increasing the risk of disability in four physical functions: disability in ADL, disability in IADL, functional limitations, and hearing loss., (Copyright © 2022 The Authors. Preparation of calibration curves is a critical step for large-scale quantification. However, this procedure is time-consuming, labor intensive. Herein, a novel isotopologue multipoint calibration (IMC) strategy, was proposed and demonstrated for the simultaneous quantitation of 120 pesticides and 83 veterinary drugs in surface water samples using Liquid Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (LC-HRMS). In this strategy, the natural isotopic distribution was used to generate external calibration curves, eliminating the need of analyst's adjustment and many sets of chemical standard solutions required in external calibration curves. Additionally, this strategy was comprehensively validated, and the results indicated this strategy had better performance in both accuracy and precision, fully meeting the requirements for the quantitative analysis. Interestingly, for the samples with high concentration beyond the upper limit of quantitation, the IMC strategy could avoid samples dilution by monitoring the less abundant isotopic channels. Furthermore, the IMC method was successfully applied in the surface water samples collected from Anhui province, China. Among which, sulfamethoxazole and imidacoprid were the main contributors. High environmental arsenic exposure can increase chronic oxidative stress in experimental studies and in occupational epidemiology studies. Many regulatory agencies have put forth arsenic exposure limits, it is still unclear that whether low environmental arsenic exposure was associated with adverse health outcome in general population. This study aimed to explore the association of low blood arsenic with malondialdehyde in community-dwelling older adults. We used a cross-sectional study of 2384 older adult individuals aged ≥65 years (mean age: 85 years) from the Healthy Aging and Biomarkers Cohort Study in 2017. The median blood arsenic level was 1.41 μg/L. High oxidative stress was categorized according to the 95th percentile of MDA levels (7.47 nmol/mL). Restricted cubic spline models showed that blood arsenic levels were positively associated with malondialdehyde levels (P < 0.01); and the risk of high oxidative stress was no longer significantly increased when blood arsenic level up to 8.74 μg/L. After adjusting for potential confounders, the odds ratios of high oxidative stress for the second, third, and fourth quartiles of blood arsenic were 2.35 (1.11-4.96), 3.87 (1.90-7.91), and 4.18 (2.00-8.72) (P trend  < 0.01), compared with the first quartile. An effective sample pretreatment method followed by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was first developed for simultaneous determination of five antiviral drug residues including ribavirin, moroxydine, amantadine, rimantadine and memantine in honey. To adsorb analytes with different binding properties and overcome the interference of sugars and uridine as endogenous ribavirin structural analogs in honey, the target drugs were extracted with 1% formic acid and then purified by a phenylboronic acid (PBA) solid phase extraction cartridge using two-step fraction capture prior to LC-MS/MS analysis. This method was validated by analyzing honey samples from nine floral origins including miscellaneous flowers, citrus, vitex, rape, acacia, sunflower, linden, buckwheat and jujube spiking at multiple levels, and the recoveries ranged from 82.46% to 116.34%, with relative standard deviations (RSDs) less than 14.58%. The limits of detection (LODs) and limits of quantitation (LOQs) of moroxydine, ribavirin, amantadine, rimantadine, and memantine were 0.1-2 µg/kg and 0.2-5 µg/kg, respectively. Thousands of hazardous compounds that contaminate foods and feeds pose potential risks for human and animal health. However, it remains a challenge to perform a fast monitoring for safety surveillance. Herein we report a novel approach, integrated data-dependent and data-independent acquisition (DDIA) method, to efficiently screen for hundreds of chemicals in a single run using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap). This method was successfully applied to analyze 180 veterinary drugs in milk, 220 pesticides in tomato and 50 mycotoxins in maize, respectively. Compared with the widely used approaches of data-dependent acquisition (DDA) or data-independent acquisition (DIA), the obtained results indicate that DDIA-based method combines the advantages of both DDA and DIA, since it achieves higher reproducibility of identification, lower false results for targeted compounds. Notably, the advantage of DDIA approach is that it enables better date retroactivity for untargeted compounds, such as metabolites and decomposition products. With the improvement in high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) as well as data-mining techniques, we believe that DDIA data acquisition approach based on LC-HRMS will be widely applied in various fields in the near future, especially in compound screening and omics field, such as metabolomics and proteomics., (Copyright © 2020 Elsevier B.V. Alpha-zearalenol (α-ZEL) and its masked form α-zearalenol-14 glucoside (α-ZEL-14G) have much higher oestrogenic activity than zearalenone. Owing to very limited toxicokinetic and metabolic data, no reference points could be established for risk assessment. To circumvent it, the toxicokinetic, metabolic profiles, and phenotyping of α-ZEL and α-ZEL-14G were comprehensively investigated in this study. As a result, the plasma concentrations of α-ZEL and α-ZEL-14G were all below LOQ after oral administration, while after iv injection, both could be significantly bio-transformed into various metabolites. A complete hydrolysis of α-ZEL-14G contributed to α-ZEL overall toxicity. Additionally, 31 phase I and 10 phase II metabolites of α-ZEL, and 9 phase I and 5 phase II metabolites were identified for α-ZEL-14G. For α-ZEL, hydroxylation, dehydrogenation, and glucuronidation were the major metabolic pathways, while for α-ZEL-14G, it was deglycosylation, reduction, hydroxylation, and glucuronidation. Significant metabolic differences were observed for α-ZEL and α-ZEL-14G in the liver microsomes of rats, chickens, swine, goats, cows and humans. Phenotyping studies indicated that α-ZEL and α-ZEL-14G were mediated by CYP 3A4, 2C8, and 1A2. Moreover, the deglycosylation of α-ZEL-14G was critically mediated by CES-I and CES-II. Background & Aims: Dietary diversity is widely advocated in national and international recommendations although whether the beneficial effects on survival or longevity still apply in the final phase of the lifespan remains understudied. We aimed to prospectively examine the association of dietary diversity, food items with all-cause mortality among the oldest old (80+) and determine whether dietary diversity recommendations were appropriate for this population., Methods: The study included 28,790 participants aged 80+ (9957 octogenarians, 9925 nonagenarians, and 8908 centenarians). A baseline dietary diversity score (DDS) was constructed based on nine food items of a food frequency questionnaire. Cox models with penalized splines evaluated non-linear associations of DDS as continuous variable with mortality to identify cut-offs of DDS., Results: We documented 23,503 deaths during 96,739 person-years of follow-up. Each one unit increase in DDS was associated with a 9% lower risk of mortality (adjusted hazard ratio (HR): 0.91; 95% confidential interval (CI): 0.90-0.92). Compared to participants whose DDS less than 2 scores, those with a DDS of 2, 3, 4, 5, and higher than 6 scores had a lower mortality risk, the HRs were 0.86 (0.82-0.89), 0.78 (0.75-0.81), 0.69 (0.66-0.72), 0.65 (0.62-0.68), and 0.56 (0.53-0.58) respectively, and a significant trend emerged (p < 0.001). Protein-rich food items were associated with prominent beneficial effects on mortality including meat (HR and 95% CI for high vs low frequency: 0.70 (0.68-0.72)), fish and sea food (HR, 0.74 (0.72-0.77)), egg (HR, 0.75 (0.73-0.77)), and bean (HR, 0.80 (0.78-0.82))., Conclusions: Even after the age of 80, the DDS tool may offer a simple and straightforward mean of identifying and screening individuals at high risk for mortality. Objective: Although some people with mild cognitive impairment may not suffer from dementia lifelong, about 5% of them will progress to dementia within 1 year in community settings. However, a general tool for predicting the risk of cognitive impairment was not adequately studied among older adults., Design: Prospective cohort study., Setting: Community-living, older adults from 22 provinces in China., Participants: We included 10,066 older adults aged 65 years and above (mean age, 83.2 ± 11.1 years), with normal cognition at baseline in the 2002-2008 cohort and 9354 older adults (mean age, 83.5 ± 10.8 years) in the 2008-2014 cohort of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey., Methods: We measured cognitive function using the Chinese version of the Mini-Mental State Examination. Demographic, medical, and lifestyle information was used to develop the nomogram via a Lasso selection procedure using a Cox proportional hazards regression model. We validated the nomogram internally with 2000 bootstrap resamples and externally in a later cohort. The predictive accuracy and discriminative ability of the nomogram were measured by area-under-the-curves and calibration curves, respectively., Results: Eight factors were identified with which to construct the nomogram: age, baseline of the Mini-Mental State Examination, activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living score, chewing ability, visual function, history of stroke, watching TV or listening to the radio, and growing flowers or raising pets. The area-under-the-curves for internal and external validation were 0.891 and 0.867, respectively, for predicting incident cognitive impairment. The calibration curves showed good consistency between nomogram-based predictions and observations., Conclusions and Implications: The nomogram-based prediction yielded consistent results in 2 separate large cohorts. The fascinating collection and evaluation of natural products with enormous structural and chemical diversity can contribute to ensure human health and inspire potential drug discovery. We reported the identification of 14-(R)-hydroxy-gelsenicine (HGE), a new component from poisonous honey, which has recently caused multiple serious intoxications and deaths up on consumption. The prevalence, toxicity, toxicokinetics and metabolic profile of HGE were evaluated through in vitro and in vivo analyses. HGE is a very toxic substance and shows significant gender difference with LD 50 of 0.125 mg kg -1 and 0.295 mg kg -1 for the female and male mice, respectively. Toxicokinetics test indicates that HGE has good bioavailability in rats, and is metabolized extensively, in which hydroxylation, reduction, N-demethyl ether and glucuronication are the major metabolic pathways. Additionally, HGE shows specific neurotoxicity by enhancing the binding of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) to its receptors. We found that flumazenil, a selective antagonist of GABA receptor, could effectively increase the survival of the tested animals, which provides a potential therapy for future clinical applications., (Copyright © 2019 Elsevier B.V. Extreme heat events have recently become more frequent and represent an increasing risk of damage to public health. However, the existing prediction of heatwave related health effects has limited representativeness and verification. Our study addressed the prediction of heatstroke occurrences based on three years' data of typical cities of hot temperature in China, and examined the importance ranks of model parameters including meteorological and socioeconomic status (SES) factors. The results show that meteorological factors contributed the most to model estimation of the parameters evaluated, and SES parameters, such as the search index, were also important indicators of heatstroke prediction. The model had a satisfying performance compared to traditional linear regression models. A robust and sensitive method of solid-phase extraction followed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was established and performed for the simultaneous determination of eleven aminoglycosides (AGs) in royal jelly and honey. After sample extraction by a phosphate buffer containing trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and ethylenediaminetetracetic acid disodium salt (Na 2 EDTA), the extraction solution was subjected to a parallel solid-phase extraction for clean-up prior to the LC-MS/MS analysis. The same method was applied to analyze two completely different matrices, honey and royal jelly. Good sensitivity, repeatability, and recovery were obtained by using the mobile phase without an ion-pairing reagent such as heptafluorobutyric acid (HFBA) or sodium heptanesulfonate. The calibration curves of the honey and royal jelly samples exhibited a good linear response (R 2  > 0.99) at six concentrations in the range of 10-1000 μg/mL. The limit of quantification (LOQ) of the AGs ranged from 10 to 25 μg/kg in the honey and from 12.5 to 25 μg/kg in the royal jelly. The recoveries of the AGs for the honey and royal jelly samples were in the range of 79.48% to 108.95% and 74.61% to 113.70% respectively and the relative standard deviations (RSDs) were between 1.23% and 9.59%, and between 1.51% and 9.98%, respectively. Honey discrimination based on floral and geographic origins is limited by the ability to determine reliable markers because developing hypothetical substances in advance considerably limits the throughput of metabolomics studies. Here, we present a novel approach to screen and elucidate honey markers based on comparative untargeted metabolomics using ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-hybrid quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap). To reduce metabolite information losses during sample preparation, the honey samples were dissolved in water and centrifuged to remove insoluble particles prior to UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap analysis in positive and negative electrospray ionization modes. The data were pretreated using background subtraction, chromatographic peak extraction, normalization, transformation and scaling to remove interferences from unwanted biases and variance in the experimental data. The pretreated data were further processed using principal component analysis (PCA) and a three-stage approach (t-test, volcano plot and variable importance in projection (VIP) plot) to ensure marker authenticity. A correlation between the molecular and fragment ions with a mass accuracy of less than 1.0ppm was used to annotate and elucidate the marker structures, and the marker responses in real samples were used to confirm the effectiveness of the honey discrimination. Moreover, we evaluated the data quality using blank and quality control (QC) samples based on PCA clustering, retention times, normalized levels and peak areas. This study reports a rapid, automated screening and quantification method for the determination of multi-xenobiotic residues in honey using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-hybrid quadrupole-Orbitrap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap) with a user-built accurate-mass database plus parallel reaction monitoring (PRM). The database contains multi-xenobiotic information including formulas, adduct types, theoretical exact mass and retention time, characteristic fragment ions, ion ratios, and mass accuracies. A simple sample preparation method was developed to reduce xenobiotic loss in the honey samples. The screening method was validated based on retention time deviation, mass accuracy via full scan-data-dependent MS/MS (full scan-ddMS2), multi-isotope ratio, characteristic ion ratio, sensitivity, and positive/negative switching performance between the spiked sample and corresponding standard solution. The quantification method based on the PRM mode is a promising new quantitative tool which we validated in terms of selectivity, linearity, recovery (accuracy), repeatability (precision), decision limit (CCα), detection capability (CCβ), matrix effects, and carry-over. The optimized methods proposed in this study enable the automated screening and quantification of 157 compounds in less than 15 min in honey. In the past decades, China has observed rapid urbanization, the nation's urban population reached 50% in 2000, and is still in steady increase. Rapid urbanization in China has an adverse impact on urban hydrological processes, particularly in increasing the urban flood risks and causing serious urban flooding losses. Urban flooding also increases health risks such as causing epidemic disease break out, polluting drinking water and damaging the living environment. In the highly urbanized area, non-engineering measurement is the main way for managing urban flood risk, such as flood risk warning. There is no mature method and pilot study for urban flood risk warning, the purpose of this study is to propose the urban flood risk warning method for the rapidly urbanized Chinese cities. This paper first presented an urban flood forecasting model, which produces urban flood inundation index for urban flood risk warning. The model has 5 modules. The drainage system and grid dividing module divides the whole city terrain into drainage systems according to its first-order river system, and delineates the drainage system into grids based on the spatial structure with irregular gridding technique; the precipitation assimilation module assimilates precipitation for every grids which is used as the model input, which could either be the radar based precipitation estimation or interpolated one from rain gauges; runoff production module classifies the surface into pervious and impervious surface, and employs different methods to calculate the runoff respectively; surface runoff routing module routes the surface runoff and determines the inundation index. The routing on surface grid is calculated according to the two dimensional shallow water unsteady flow algorithm, the routing on land channel and special channel is calculated according to the one dimensional unsteady flow algorithm. This paper then proposed the urban flood risk warning method that is called DPSIR model based multiple index fuzzy evaluation warning method, and referred to as DMFEW method. DMFEW first selects 5 evaluation indexes based on the DPSIR model for flood risk warning evaluation, including driving force index, pressure index, state index, impact index and response index. Based on the values of all evaluation indexes, one evaluation index for the whole system evaluation result is determined by using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. The flood risk level is divided into 4 levels, having Level 1 the most serious. Every evaluation index is also categorized as 4 levels, and a linear fuzzy subjection function is proposed to do the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Dongguan City is used as the study case to validate the proposed method. The urban flood forecasting model is set up with the topographic data, the city map, the underground pipelines and land cover types, and two flood events are simulated with observed precipitation, one is interpolated from the rain gauges data, and another is estimated by digital weather radar. The simulated results are compared with the investigated water depth, and the results show the model has very good performances. In this paper, a method for the rapid and sensitive analysis of juvenile hormone III (JH III) and 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E) in queen larvae and drone pupae samples was presented. Ultrasound-assisted extraction provided a significant shortening of the leaching time for the extraction of JH III and 20E and satisfactory sensitivity as compared to the conventional shake extraction procedure. After extraction, determination was carried out by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) operating in electrospray ionization positive ion mode via multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) without any clean-up step prior to analysis. A linear gradient consisting of (A) water containing 0.1% formic acid and (B) acetonitrile containing 0.1% formic acid, and a ZORBAX SB-Aq column (100 mm × 2.1 mm, 3.5 μm) were employed to obtain the best resolution of the target analytes. The method was validated for linearity, limit of quantification, recovery, matrix effects, precision and stability. Drone pupae samples were found to contain 20E at concentrations of 18.0 ± 0.1 ng/g (mean ± SD) and JH III was detected at concentrations of 0.20 ± 0.06 ng/g (mean ± SD) in queen larvae samples. A high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD-MS/MS) method was developed for simultaneous determination of melittin and apamin in crude bee venom lyophilized powder (CBVLP) as the traditional Chinese medicine possessing specific biological activity. Melittin and apamin were extracted with pure water from CBVLP samples followed by HPLC-DAD-MS/MS analysis. The method was validated to demonstrate its selectivity, linearity, limit of quantification (LOQ), intraday precision, interday precision, accuracy, recovery, matrix effect, and stability. The assay was linear over the concentration ranges of 1-100 and 0.2-25 microg/ml with limit of quantifications (LOQs) of 1.0 and 0.3 microg/ml for melittin and apamin, respectively. The precision results were expressed as coefficients of variation (CVs), ranging from 2.2% to 11.4% for intraday repeatability and from 3.2% to 13.1% for interday intermediary precision. The concentrations of endogenous melittin and apamin in CBVLP samples ranged from 46% to 53% and from 2.2% to 3.7% of dry weight, respectively. Melamine has become the focus of attention for the possible occurrence of nephrolithiasis and associated deaths, because it was added to foods to increase the apparent protein content by unethical manufacturers. An analytical method based on hydrophilic interaction chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (HILIC-MS/MS) was developed and validated for the determination of melamine in the royal jelly (RJ) and royal jelly lyophilized powder (RJLP). Trace of melamine was extracted from the RJ and RJLP by ultrasonic-assisted extraction followed by clean-up procedure using mixed-mode cation exchange (MCX) solid phase extraction and separated on a hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC) analytical column with acetonitrile/5mM ammonium acetate buffer (88:12, v/v) as mobile phase. Detection was carried out by positive electrospray ionization (ESI+) in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode. The chromatographic separation was obtained within 5min and was linear in the concentration range of 0.01-8microg/mL in RJ and 0.05-10microg/mL in RJLP for melamine. The mean extraction recoveries for melamine were ranged from 89.6 to 100.4%. Method validation parameters were evaluated such as linearity, selectivity, precision, carryover and recovery, giving results within the acceptable range. The proposed method was successfully applied to the quantitation of melamine in RJ and RJLP. This approach will be of particular utility for the evaluation of melamine residue level and routine monitor of melamine in RJ and RJLP samples.
