Arterial involvement in Behçet's disease is rare, the aortic localization is one of the most severe manifestations of the disease. We present an exceptional case of Behçet's disease revealed by two infrarenal abdominal aorta aneurysms, associated to a femoral artery pseudoaneurysm. The management of aneurysms in Behçet's disease is delicate, and requires the combination of surgical treatment with adjuvant medical drug therapy in order to reduce complications risk., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Masson SAS. Purpose: To describe the therapeutic management of false aneurysms of the femoral artery in drug addicts., Patients and Methods: We report the cases of four drug addicts with pseudoaneurysms of the femoral artery., Results: All patients were male with a mean age of 36 years. Emergency surgical treatment involved removal of the pseudoaneurysm followed by a venous graft (n=3) or patch (n=1). The post-operative period was uneventful for three patients. One patient required early revision with a second venous bypass after bleeding from the first then later a second revision for resection of infected tissue and sartorius muscle plasty to cover the groin area. Late outcome was favorable for all patients after an average 12-month follow-up., Conclusion: No consensus has been reached concerning the appropriate treatment for false aneurysms of the femoral artery in drug addicts. Analyses of larger series with longer follow-ups are needed to elucidate the best emergency surgical methods capable of reducing the risk of rupture., (Copyright © 2018 Elsevier Masson SAS. Femoral artery aneurysm is a rare entity among the vascular complications of Takayasu's disease. It is sometimes characterized by the risk of serious local complications with hemorrhagic or ischemic event, as well as by a big therapeutic handling difficulty. Background: The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and the safety of the FemoSeal mechanical closure system in order to obtain hemostasis of the puncture site following angioplasty procedures performed through femoral arterial approach., Method: A single-centre prospective registry was conducted from November 2010 to April 2011, comparing the results of manual compression (n=111 patients), hemostatic bandages compression (n=43 patients) and FemoSeal mechanical closure (n=100 patients). The end points evaluated were the following: successful hemostasis, major and minor complications right after the procedures and major and minor complications at 1 month follow-up. The patients' feedback about their comfort was also collected right after the procedure and after one month., Results: Successful hemostasis with FemoSeal was obtained in 93% of the patients (n=93). Seven patients required additional slight manual compressions or compression bandages. The use of FemoSeal was not associated with any major complications, significantly reducing (P<0.05) the number of complications compared to other compression techniques over the studied period. Only one minor complication was observed with FemoSeal (a 1.5-cm-hematoma, which reabsorbed spontaneously without any issue)., Conclusion: In our experience, the use of FemoSeal is effective in achieving hemostasis performed through femoral arterial approach up to 7F and is associated with a very low rate of complications., (Copyright © 2014. Purpose: To estimate the agreement between radial or femoral, and ascending aortic invasive blood pressure values., Patients and Methods: Prospective study on 32 patients who underwent an aortic endografting under general anesthesia. After deploying the prosthesis under controlled hypotension, a catheter was introduced in the aorta to measure the staged systolic (SAP), diastolic (DAP) and mean (MAP) arterial pressures, in particular at the level of ascending aorta and femoral artery., Results: No differences were observed between SAP, DAP or MAP measured in the aorta versus femoral or radial arteries. A better agreement was observed between the aortic and femoral MAP (bias of 1mmHg, limits of agreement between: -8.8mmHg and +10.8mmHg) than between the aortic and the radial MAP (bias of 1.7mmHg, limits of agreement between: -14.1mmHg and +17.5mmHg). The comparison between radial and femoral MAP was not satisfying (bias of -4.7mmHg and limits of agreement between -19.1mmHg and +9.7mmHg)., Conclusion: The femoral MAP is more accurate to predict value of the aortic MAP than the radial MAP in a hypotensive setting.
