The authors propose a method to obtain the multifunctional spintronic device by investigating the spin-resolved transport characteristics of zigzag SiC nanoribbon (zSiCNR) heterojunction via edge asymmetric dual-hydrogenation. The spin-resolved band structures show that the dual-hydrogenation on edge C or Si atoms all can change the initial metallicity of the pristine zSiCNR with the edge mono-hydrogenation to semiconductor in the presence of ferromagnetic field. The spin-resolved current-voltage characteristics of the zSiCNR heterojunction can show spin current rectification in the same rectify direction under the parallel magnetic field. The up-spin rectification ratio of our junction can be close to 1013 at −0.5 V, which is much larger than rectification ratios of the previous junctions induced by the anti-parallel magnetic field. The zSiCNR heterojunction also exhibits a perfect spin filtering behavior with 100% spin filtering efficiency in both positive and negative bias regions under the anti-parallel magnetic field. More interestingly, the magnetoresistance is achieved by manipulating the external magnetic field in our zSiCNR heterojunction with the giant magnetoresistance ratio 5000% at 0.5 V. Therefore, the zSiCNR heterojunction via edge asymmetric dual-hydrogenation can be designed into the multifunctional spintronic devices, which has broad application prospects in the field of future spintronics. • Zigzag silicon carbon nanoribbon has potential in spin devices. • Giant spin current rectification is obtained in the presence of a ferromagnetic field. • Maximum spin current rectification ratios is closing to 1013. • Perfect spin filtering and magnetoresistance behaviors are also obtained. Abstract: The behavior of leakage current at reverse bias in p-La0.9Sr0.1MnO3/n-SrNb0.01Ti0.99O3 heterojunction has been theoretically studied by calculating interband tunneling current with various doping densities and temperatures. Our results reveal that the reduction of leakage current with decrease of doping density and increase of temperature originates from properties of interband tunneling. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Transition metal phosphates have proved to be promising electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) of water splitting, however, further increasing their active sites and catalytic activity remains a major challenge. Herein, accordion-like Co-MOF with layered structure was synthesized. After subsequent carbonization and phosphidization, lamellar heterostructured Co/CoP nanocrystals encapsulated in a P, N co-doped C matrix (Co/CoP@PNC) was obtained. Heterojunction provides abundant active sites and improves electron transfer rate. Additionally, the effect of phosphating degree on the electrocatalytic activity was studied. In the alkaline electrolyte, the current density of the optimized Co/CoP@PNC-10 for HER reached 10 mA cm−2 at overpotential of 137 mV in 1.0 M KOH, which was superior to most of transition metal-based electrocatalysts. This work provides new guidance for the design and development of transition metal-based electrocatalysts. The construction of effective photogenerated charge transfer channels through interface engineering is the key to achieving the highly efficient of photocatalysts. Herein, sandwich-like ZnIn 2 S 4 /TiO 2 /Ti 3 C 2 nanosheets integrated type-II heterostructure with Schottky junction are reasonably fabricated by low temperature in-situ growth method. Benefitting from the intensive visible light absorption of ZnIn 2 S 4 , the fast electron transport of TiO 2 , the rich active sites in Ti 3 C 2 , as well as the intimate interface coupling and the matched band alignment among ternary components, enhanced hydrogen production can be achieved with ZnIn 2 S 4 /TiO 2 /Ti 3 C 2 hierarchical photocatalyst under visible light irradiation in the absence of noble metal co-catalysts. The concept of coupling type-II heterostructure with the Schottky barrier can steer the charge flow and boost the charge carrier separation and transfer across the interfacial domain, which may spark new ensemble design for efficient solar energy harvesting and conversion. Fabricating zero-dimensional/two-dimensional (0D/2D) heterojunctions is considered to be an efficient approach to boost the transfer/separation of photo-induced charges. Herein, a novel visible-light-driven 0D/2D CdZnS/SnIn 4 S 8 heterostructures were successfully prepared by in situ growth of 0D CdZnS quantum dots on the surface of 2D SnIn 4 S 8 nanosheets. Such unique dimensional coupling structure with large specific surface area and appropriate pore size of CdZnS/SnIn 4 S 8 expedited the mass transfer rate of interfacial catalytic reaction. Under visible light irradiation, the as-prepared heterojunctions not only showed excellent photocatalytic oxidation activity towards the degradation of tetracycline and rhodamine B, but also exhibited outstanding performance of reducing H 2 O to hydrogen. The significantly enhanced photocatalytic capability could be attributed to the strong light absorption, highly effective separation and migration of charges, and abundant reactive sites, which encouraged by the uniformly and intimately contacted interface between CdZnS quantum dots and SnIn 4 S 8 nanosheets. Moreover, the possible degradation pathway and ecological toxicity during rhodamine B degradation were also investigated and discussed in detail. This study will provide valuable information for the development of transition metal sulfide-based photocatalytic heterostructures for solving environmental pollution and energy shortage. Constructing g-C 3 N 5 -based heterojunctions has proved to be an effective method to boost the photocatalytic H 2 evolution activity. Nevertheless, the current engineering methods for constructing g-C 3 N 5 -based heterojunctions generally suffer from the cumbersome multi-step pathways. Herein, g-C 3 N 5 /poly (triazine imide) (PTI) heterojunction was successfully constructed by one-step molten-salt approach. This unique molten-salt method can simultaneously induce the formation of g-C 3 N 5 and promote the phase transition from g-C 3 N 5 to PTI. The relative contents of PTI in the g-C 3 N 5 /PTI heterojunction can be regulated readily by changing the calcination temperature. Our results demonstrated that the optimal g-C 3 N 5 /PTI heterojunction exhibits highest photocatalytic H 2 production rate of 2326.8 μmol g−1h−1, which is 2.7 and 6.7 times those of pure g-C 3 N 5 and PTI, respectively. The improved photocatalytic activity of g-C 3 N 5 /PTI is mainly attributed to the charge transport pathway provided by S-scheme heterostructure and the construction of the hierarchical structure, which ensure charge separate and migrate sufficiently. This work provided a tractable strategy for the construction of novel metal-free g-C 3 N 5 -based heterojunctions with enhanced photocatalytic performance and may inspire the design and synthesis of other semiconductor heterojunction photocatalysts.
