In a conflict scenario, the domestic and international stake holders vye to safeguard their specific vested interests and objectives, like in the Syrian and Afghan conflicts. Knowledge about the position of domestic players can help both domestic and international players determine the root causes of conflict and work in groups to resolve the divergent issues. Due to complex nature of conflicts, it is pertinent to study conflict at domestic and international levels separately. For this purpose, we design a two-level conflict analysis model based on game theory and linguistic assessments of players. The first level deals with local players by playing a game between each of them in view of local issues and taking into account the local grouping. At the second level, game is played between local groups and international players regarding multiple issues. In this way, all the parties calculate the gains or losses of comparable actions of each other. Thus, the proposed model provides a comprehensive study of conflict. This paper studies Syrian conflict to validate the conflict analysis algorithm and explain the computations and results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We define pointwise convergence, uniform convergence, Γ -convergence and convergence in supremum metric for the intuitionistic fuzzy sets. The uniform convergence is in the topology induced by lower and upper pseudo metrics. The Γ -convergence is the Kuratowski–Painlevé convergence of the endographs of the intuitionistic fuzzy sets. The supremum metric is the supremum of Hausdroff distance among the ζ -cuts of the intuitionistic fuzzy sets. We discuss the mutual relationship of these convergences. Topological structures are also discussed in detail. Adequate number of examples are given to illustrate the relationship among these convergences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

• Basic operational laws of uncertain probabilistic linguistic term sets are revised. • A novel uncertain probabilistic linguistic comparison method is introduced. • Several uncertain probabilistic linguistic aggregation operators are revised. • An uncertain probabilistic linguistic simple weighted geometry operator is designed. • WASPAS is extended to uncertain probabilistic linguistic environment. The uncertain probabilistic linguistic term set (UPLTS) one of the modern development in fuzzy set theory, can express not only the decision makers (DMs) linguistic assessment information but also the uncertain probability/weight/importance degree of each linguistic assessment value, so it is an efficient tool for addressing the ignorance problems. The current study mainly focuses on developing a more effective way to cope with multiple criteria group decision making (MCGDM) problems in which the assessment information are in the form of UPLTSs, and the weight information is also entirely unknown. Firstly, some weaknesses of the existing operational laws and score function of UPLTSs are pointed out through some critical examples and then redefined them to overcome existing flaws in order to acquire more accurate results in practical decision making problems. Also, we establish various properties of the revised operational laws along with proofs. To design a novel comparison method, the concept of deviation degree is introduced in order to accommodate the situation in which two different UPLTSs have the same score values. After that, based on the proposed operational laws, several existing aggregation operators are modified, and a novel aggregation operator, namely uncertain probabilistic linguistic simple weighted geometry (UPLSWG) operator is designed. Meanwhile, some interesting properties of these proposed operators are carefully analysed. Furthermore, an entropy technique under uncertain probabilistic linguistic information is structured for computing the completely unknown weights of criteria. Following this, a new extension of weighted aggregated sum product assessment (WASPAS) method called uncertain probabilistic linguistic-WASPAS (UPL-WASPAS) methodology based on the proposed aggregation operators is studied under the UPLTS context for ranking objects in MCGDM problems. To show the applicability and potentiality of the developed method, an example of supplier selection is addressed, and a detailed performance comparison analysis is conducted. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis is also made to determine the impact of the parameter on the ranking of alternatives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

IMAGE encryption , *ALGORITHMS , *DIFFUSION , *PIXELS , *DIGITAL images - Abstract
A careful perusal of the literature regarding the image encryption algorithms indicates that many research articles based on pixel swapping operations in the horizontal and vertical orientations, have been published. This study ventures to develop a yet another sophisticated algorithm by extending the swapping operations along the diagonal–antidiagonal directions. Besides, unlike the previous studies, the confusion and diffusion operations over the pixels of the given input plain image have been crafted in a parallel fashion. This work has employed a 4D chaotic system to spawn the streams of random numbers. The initial values and the system parameters have been made dependent over the given plain image in order to inject the plaintext sensitivity in the proposed cipher. As a modus operandi of the proposed encryption algorithm, a non-intersecting pair of row and column is selected randomly with the same arbitrary length and swapped/XORed according to the value dictated by the random numbers. The same operations have been carried out for the non-intersecting pair of diagonal and anti-diagonal. The reason for selecting the non-intersecting pair stems from the fact that intersecting pairs cause to lose the precious pixels data which questions the potential invertibility feature of the proposed algorithm. To demonstrate the improved efficiency, ability to withstand the varied attacks by the cryptanalysis savvy, and prospects for some real-world application, the algorithm has been subjected to a comprehensive set of evaluation metrics.
