Background: To systematically evaluate the prevalence of post-sequelae and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease assessment test (CAT) scoring one year after hospital discharge among older COVID-19 patients, as well as potential risk factors.Methods: A multi-center prospective cohort study involving 1,233 eligible older COVID-19 patients was conducted. All patients were followed-up between Mar 1, 2021 and Mar 20, 2021. CAT scoring was adopted to measure symptom burden in COVID-19 patients.Results: Of the 1233 eligible cases, 630 (51.1%) reported at least one sequelae. The top six post-sequelae included fatigue (32.4%), sweating (20.0%), chest tightness (15.8%), anxiety (11.4%), myalgia (9.0%), and cough (5.8%). Severe patients had significantly higher percentage of fatigue, sweating, chest tightness, myalgia, and cough (P<0.05), while anxiety was universal in all subjects. Sweating, anxiety, palpitation, edema of lower limbs, smell reduction, and taste change were emerging sequelae. Disease severity during hospitalization (OR: 1.46, 95% CI: 1.15-1.84, P = 0.002), and follow-up time (OR: 0.71, 95% CI: 0.50-0.99, P = 0.043) were independently associated with risk of post-sequelae, while disease severity during hospitalization was significantly associated with increased risk of emerging sequelae (OR: 1.33, 95% CI: 1.03-1.71, P = 0.029). The median of CAT score was 2 (0-5) in all patients, and a total of 120 patients (9.7%) had CAT scores ≥10. Disease severity during hospitalization (OR: 1.81, 95% CI: 1.23-2.67, P = 0.003) and age (OR: 1.07, 95% CI: 1.04-1.09, P<0.001) were significantly associated with increased risk of CAT scores ≥10.Conclusions: While the dramatic decline in the prevalence rate of persistent symptoms is reassuring, new sequelae among older COVID-19 patients cannot be ignored. Disease severity during hospitalization, age, and follow-up time contributed to the risk of post-sequelae and CAT scoring one year after hospital discharge among older COVID-19 patients. • Successfully developed a facile route to synthesize core-shell Bi@NC nanorods. • Core-shell Bi@NC nanorods were firstly applied as anode for MIBs. • Micropores in carbon matrix mitigate the large volume change of inner core Bi. • Excellent Mg storage performance, especially in rate performance. The rechargeable magnesium batteries are potentially applicable in large-scale energy storage systems because of the low costs and rich sources. But the alternative anodes for magnesium ion batteries have not been fully developed. In this work, a novel bismuth-carbon composite with bismuth nanorods anchored in nitrogen-doped mesoporous carbon matrix (Bi@NC), was prepared as anode for magnesium ion batteries by carbonizing the dopamine-coated bismuth metal precursors. The matrix facilitated the magnesiation/de-magnesiation of bismuth due to its highly electronic conductive network. Moreover, it restrained the aggregation of bismuth nanorods and serves as a buffer layer to alleviate the mechanical strain of bismuth nanorods upon magnesium insertion/extraction. As the anode for magnesium ion batteries, the Bi@NC core-shell nanorods delivered a reversible capacity of 360 mAh g−1 at the current density of 100 mA g−1, and 87 % of the initial capacity was achieved after 100 cycles. The standout rate performance is 275 mAh g−1 at the current density of 1 A g−1. Ni catalysts with preferred orientation and microsphere were fabricated by a facile one-step pulsed voltage electrodeposition (PVE) method, while the crystal plane orientation and catalytic activity for borohydride oxidation reaction (BOR) were researched systematically. The results indicate that adjusting pulse anode potential can effectively regulate the morphology and crystal plane preferred orientation of Ni catalysts. The optimal Ni-PVE 0.15 catalyst exhibits the highest catalytic activity, stability, and fuel efficiency to BOR. The improvement of catalytic activity of Ni and fuel efficiency is attributed to the more exposure of the (220) crystal plane, which blocks the competing hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), increases the intrinsic activity of the catalytic sites to BOR, and strengthens the adsorption of escaping hydrogen to further electrooxidation. Meanwhile, the no-cracks feature of the microsphere increases the active sites and avoids the shedding of catalysts. The derived insights are important for the design of efficient nickel catalysts for practical applications of direct borohydride fuel cells. A dendrite-less Mg anode is coupled with an insertion-type cathode to construct a Mg-Li hybrid ion battery competitive to the state of art Li-ion batteries. However, the issue of limited energy density restricts the practical application of Mg-Li hybrid battery. Herein, it is the first time to assemble an ultrahigh-capacity Mg-Li hybrid battery with spinel Co 3 S 4 cathode and Mg anode. The particle-like Co 3 S 4 -F delivers the initial high discharge capacity of 779.8 mAh g−1 and retains 399.5 mAh g−1 in the 100th cycle with discharge voltage platform at 1.10 V vs. Mg2+/Mg and high energy density of 439.5 Wh kg−1 at 0.1 A g−1, much higher than that of reported chalcogenides in a nucleophilic APC-based Mg-Li hybrid electrolyte. The synergistic effect of hierarchical Co 3 S 4 -F micro/nano particles and APC-LiCl hybrid electrolyte promotes outstanding electrochemical performance of spinel Co 3 S 4 -F upon cycling. The conversion reaction of the Co 3 S 4 -F to metallic Co and sulfide Li 2 S contributes to ultrahigh capacity of Mg-Li hybrid battery during the discharge process.
