• Young people do not seek help specifically for debt, despite its impact on them. • Youth workers are a first point of contact, but not equipped to deal with debt issues. • Adequately resourcing and training youth workers can help young people address debt. Debt is a growing, but poorly understood issue for young people in Australia and internationally. To understand how young people seek help with debt, we conducted interviews and focus-groups with 16 youth workers and two financial counselors. We found that youth workers are often the first point of connection for young people experiencing debt. Young people were unlikely to seek help specifically for financial issues but disclosed these issues to trusted youth workers when addressing other concerns. However, youth workers do not have any formal training in this area. We argue that although youth workers are well positioned to support young people in relation to financial issues due to their skills in working with complexity, they are under-resourced for this role. Without adequate resourcing, providing support to young people experiencing debt and financial stress is likely to remain a growing area of concern for an already over-burdened and under-resourced sector. • Observed sensitivity was not predicted by parental gender or caregiver role. • Observed intrusiveness during play and feed was not predicted by parental gender or caregiver role. • Secondary caregiving fathers were more intrusive than secondary caregiving mothers while cleaning their infants. • Having twins was related to more intrusive behavior during play. The goal of our study was to examine whether differences in the sensitivity and intrusiveness of fathers and mothers from gay-, lesbian-, and heterosexual-parent families (57 French couples, 47 Dutch couples, and 31 British couples) with their first-born infants were explained by gender or caregiver role, while controlling for nesting within families, infant temperament, and twinship. We assessed the sensitivity and intrusiveness of 147 primary caregivers (45 fathers, 102 mothers) and 123 secondary caregivers (68 fathers and 55 mothers). All infants were conceived using assisted reproductive techniques and averaged 4 months of age. They were videotaped at home with both parents while engaged in play, feeding, and other childcare (bathing or changing) and these videotapes were coded for sensitivity and intrusiveness. Information about relative levels of caregiving, infant temperament, and twinship was collected via parent report questionnaires. Mixed linear models showed that sensitivity while playing, cleaning, and feeding were not predicted by parental gender, relative parental involvement, and the interaction between parental gender and parental caregiver role. Models for intrusiveness while playing and feeding showed similar results. However, intrusiveness during cleaning was predicted by parental gender and the interaction between parental gender and caregiver role. Post-hoc analyses showed that secondary caregiving fathers showed more intrusive behavior during cleaning (M = 1.51, SD = 0.09) than secondary caregiving mothers (M = 1.26, SD = 0.10). Our results also showed that contextual factors, such as having singletons or twins, infant temperament, and country of residence were related to parenting behavior. In sum, our findings do not support presumptions that mothers are more capable of providing better quality care than fathers, or that, at this early stage, primary caregiving parents are better attuned to their infants than those who are less involved. The diagnosis of T-cell lymphomas is often more challenging than that of B-cell lymphomas and can be difficult even for monospecialised haematopathologists. Their identification involves histomorphological assessment and the recognition of aberrant immunophenotypes but may additionally require polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based analysis of T-cell receptor (TR) gene rearrangements (clonality analysis). TR gene rearrangements occur naturally during T-cell development, acting as a unique barcode for each cell: in neoplastic proliferations subsets of these barcodes become expanded and can therefore be detected as clonal populations. Here we examine the current role of clonality analysis, discussing limitations and possible future directions which may improve diagnostic efficacy and efficiency. This review will provide helpful insight to histopathology trainees as well as non-specialist consultants who may encounter T-cell lymphomas in their routine diagnostic practice. • Family inclusion in child protection is a critical but unrealised aim in Australia. • Parents who have had children removed from their care feel powerless and voiceless. • Parents seek collaboration and meaningful roles in their children's lives. • Parents' advocacy and passion can be reconceptualised as an asset for inclusion. The inclusion of families throughout the child protection process can improve lifelong outcomes for children who have been removed from their parents' care. However, child protection authorities have struggled to prioritize principles of family inclusion within systems that position families as risky. While parents' experiences of powerlessness within child protection systems have been well documented, little is known about parents' perspectives on family inclusion specifically. We engaged six parents who had experienced removal of children from their care in interviews and focus groups as part of a larger study that examined practitioners', carers', lawyers' and parents' views on family inclusion in Australia. In this article we report on parents' experiences and recommendations for improving family inclusion. Through the analytical framework of Foucauldian concepts of power, knowledge and acts of resistance we highlight the complexities of parents' lives and intersections in their experiences of systemic and social exclusion. In identifying the importance of collaboration, decision making and parental identity these findings suggest that the advocacy of parents for inclusion in the lives of their children is an underutilized asset in child protection systems. • 60 MHz benchtop NMR spectroscopy of characteristic metabolites in saffron. • Machine learning models can detect samples with anomalous composition. • Multiple compromised products were found in survey of purchased samples. 60 MHz proton NMR spectroscopy was used to analyse extracts from saffron spice and a range of potential adulterants and mixtures. Using a simple extraction procedure, good quality spectra were obtained which contain peaks from the characteristic metabolites picrocrocin and crocins, fatty acids and kaempferol. The spectra of samples from trusted suppliers were used to train one-class classification models by SIMCA, nearest neighbour and isolation forest methods. Applying these to spectra of saffron samples purchased from the online marketplace, it was found that 7 out of 33 samples were highly anomalous. From comparison with the spectra of known mixtures and confirmatory spectral analysis using 600 MHz NMR, it is probable that these contain considerable amounts of undisclosed foreign matter. Background: How willing are today's medical, nursing and other healthcare students to undertake some of their studies as shared learning? There is a lack of evidence of students' views by discipline despite this being a priority task for higher education sectors. This study explored the views of nursing, midwifery, nursing-emergency health (paramedic), medical, physiotherapy and nutrition-dietetics students. Methods: Senior undergraduate students from six disciplines at one university completed the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale prior to participating in interprofessional clinical learning modules. Results: For 741 students, the highest ranked response was agreement about a need for teamwork (mean 4.42 of 5 points). Nursing students held significantly more positive attitudes towards Teamwork/ Collaboration, and were more positive about Professional Identity than medical students (p < .001). Midwifery and nursing-emergency-health students rejected uncertainty about Roles/Responsibilities compared with medical students (p < .001). One-third of all students who had prior experience of interprofessional learning held more positive attitudes in each of four attitude domains (p < .05). Conclusion: Overall, students' attitudes towards interprofessional learning were positive and all student groups were willing to engage in learning interprofessionally. To estimate the prevalence of facility delivery knowledge and access during childbirth amongst Indigenous women in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh and to identify factors associated with facility delivery service utilisation. A cross-sectional study design using a structured self-report survey. Two Upazilas (subdistricts) of Kharachhari hill district of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Indigenous women of reproductive age (15–49 years) within 36 months of delivery. A modified national survey about accessing maternal health services, including delivery services was administered to all Indigenous women that met eligibility, guided by community leaders. Data collected included socio-demographic characteristics and reproductive history. Main outcome variables were the proportion of women having prior knowledge about and access to facility delivery services for childbirth in the three years prior to the survey. Secondary outcomes were sources of information about facility delivery services, decision making about delivery place, and factors associated with knowledge and attendance at facility delivery services. Factors associated with knowledge and attendance were estimated using logistic regression with results reported as adjusted odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals. With an 89% response rate, a total of 438 Indigenous women (220 Chakma, 100 Marma, 118 Tripura) participated in the survey, and 75% were aged 16–29 years. Relatives played a vital role as a source of information about delivery services (59%). Nearly three-quarters (73%) were aware of facility delivery services, however, prevalence of accessing delivery services was 33% (n = 143; 95% CI 0.28–0.37). Relatives were the key decision-makers for accessing facility delivery services (60%). Independent factors associated with knowledge about facility delivery were higher household income (AOR 5.3, 95%CI 2.2–13); having knowledge of nearest health care facilities (AOR 5.8, 95%CI 3.0–11); and attending antenatal care visits during last pregnancy (four or more AOR 3.1, 95% CI 1.3–7.2 and one to three visits AOR 2.7, 95% CI 1.5–5.0). Independent factors associated with accessing facility delivery services at childbirth were attending antenatal care visit; having access to media; higher level of education of partners; and residing at Khagrachhari Sadar compared to Matiranga subdistrict. Indigenous women in Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh have sub-optimal knowledge of, and attendance at, facility delivery services for childbirth. Maternal health related interventions should target Indigenous women in order to educate and motivate them to access facility delivery services at childbirth. Societal values are crucial for the prioritisation of activities within the marine environment and are therefore fundamental to successfully implementing Ecosystem Based Management (EBM) in New Zealand (NZ). Documenting Social Values (Mauri Moana) is a research project within the Sustainable Seas National Science Challenge (NSC) that is exploring how societal values for the marine environment like intrinsic and recreational along with Māori values are integrated into EBM. Using a case study approach, we explore how Māori values are catered for within planning approaches and institutions for Tauranga Moana (Tauranga Harbour). Through our earlier work in the Sustainable Seas NSC, we developed a framework (He Waka Taurua) for a NZ marine management system that was informed by EBM and mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge). The current study further elaborates on the components that form a proposed NZ marine management system based on the Tauranga Moana case study. This framework provides a useful approach for informing how co-governance institutions can manage the different values and aspirations of Māori, and local communities with government institutions to support healthy oceans and healthy people. • The inaccessibility and invisibility of many social values need to be considered in marine management. • These complexities highlight the need to carefully assess the role of societal and indigenous values within EBM. • A framework (He Waka Taurua) for considering Indigenous values and broader societal values in a balanced way is proposed. • He Waka Taurua provides an equitable solution moving forward with co-management in the marine space. • Our framework provides a process for how diverse worldviews can come together for achieving a common purpose. Coastal nations and islands have featured a participatory turn this century directed to resolving conflicts in multi-use/user marine spaces. Yet, few conceptual and empirical studies focus on participation as an institutional form to engage with the pressures of diverse and contesting uses and user interests in marine environments. These spaces are volatile arenas of power and politics, challenging available regulatory, governance and managerial models. The paper first reviews understandings of the nature of the relational field of diversity-contestation-participation in the international literature and second draws on empirical findings from five case studies of marine participatory process configurations in contemporary Aotearoa New Zealand. The nation is a unique ecological, political, social, cultural and economic setting. Maori (the indigenous people) have developed holistic intergenerational resource nurturing principles and practices (Vision Matauranga (VM)) that are actively shaping marine futures. This momentum has markedly altered the nature and terms of engagement of participation in Aotearoa New Zealand's shallow marine regulatory context. The country is thus an ideal setting to examine the rise of quasi-independent Participatory initiatives, contextualise and examine their diversity, contestation, participation interactions, confront relational and co-production aspects of agency that are an integral part of real-time participatory processes, and to reflect on van Kerkhoff and Lebel's (2015) contention that different possible futures hang on people asking new questions and being brave enough to experiment with process, collaboration, and their own conceptualisations and knowledges'. • Explores the contention that diversity initiatives enable new questions to be asked. • Conceptualises multi-use/user marine spaces as an object of study. • Discusses the researchers' commitment to Treaty Partnership research and outlines the generative influences of Vision Matauranga on participation thinking. • Reports on pioneering research into diversity initiatives in Participatory Processes. • Reflects on the power and politics of implementation prospects. Abstract: The objective of this study was to determine if pulsatile LH secretion was needed for ovarian follicular wave emergence and growth in the anestrous ewe. In Experiment 1, ewes were either large or small (10 × 0.47 or 5 × 0.47 cm, respectively; n = 5/group) sc implants releasing estradiol-17 beta for 10 d (Day 0 = day of implant insertion), to suppress pulsed LH secretion, but not FSH secretion. Five sham-operated control ewes received no implants. In Experiment 2, 12 ewes received large estradiol-releasing implants for 12 d (Day 0 = day of implant insertion); six were given GnRH (200 ng IV) every 4 h for the last 6 d that the implants were in place (to reinitiate pulsed LH secretion) whereas six Control ewes were given saline. Ovarian ultrasonography and blood sampling were done daily; blood samples were also taken every 12 min for 6 h on Days 5 and 9, and on Days 6 and 12 of the treatment period in Experiments 1 and 2, respectively. Treatment with estradiol blocked pulsatile LH secretion (P < 0.001). In Experiment 1, implant treatment halted follicular wave emergence between Days 2 and 10. In Experiment 2, follicular waves were suppressed during treatment with estradiol, but resumed following GnRH treatment. In both experiments, the range of peaks in serum FSH concentrations that preceded and triggered follicular wave emergence was almost the same as control ewes and those given estradiol implants alone or with GnRH; mean concentrations did not differ (P < 0.05). We concluded that some level of pulsatile LH secretion was required for the emergence of follicular waves that were triggered by peaks in serum FSH concentrations in the anestrous ewe.
