Hand-sewn anastomosis and stapled anastomosis are the 2 main types of gastrojejunal anastomotic methods in pancreaticoduodenectomy. There is ongoing debate regarding the most effective anastomotic method for reducing delayed gastric emptying after pancreaticoduodenectomy. This study aims to identify factors that influence delayed gastric emptying after pancreaticoduodenectomy and assess the impact of different anastomotic methods on delayed gastric emptying. The study included 1,077 patients who had undergone either hand-sewn anastomosis (n = 734) or stapled anastomosis (n = 343) during pancreaticoduodenectomy between December 2016 and November 2021 at our department. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data, and a 1:1 propensity score matching was performed to balance confounding variables. After propensity score matching, 320 patients were included in each group. Compared with the stapled anastomosis group, the hand-sewn anastomosis group had a significantly lower incidence of delayed gastric emptying (28 [8.8%] vs 55 [17.2%], P =.001) and upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding (6 [1.9%] vs 17 [5.3%], P =.02). Additionally, the hand-sewn anastomosis group had a significantly reduced postoperative length of stay and lower hospitalization expenses. However, the hand-sewn anastomosis group had a significantly longer operative time, which was consistent with the analysis before propensity score matching. Logistic regression analysis showed that stapled anastomosis, intra-abdominal infection, and clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula were independent prognostic factors for delayed gastric emptying. Hand-sewn anastomosis was associated with a lower incidence rate of clinically relevant delayed gastric emptying after pancreaticoduodenectomy. Stapled anastomosis, intra-abdominal infection, and clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula could increase the incidence of postoperative clinically relevant delayed gastric emptying. This study aims to analyze a severe adverse reaction of pulmonary fibrosis induced by dronedarone hydrochloride tablets, and to provide a reference for clinical rational medication through drug precautions. A case of pulmonary fibrosis induced by dronedarone hydrochloride tablets, along with related literature was retrospectively analyzed. Patients over 65 years old with a history of exposure to amiodarone may increase the incidence of pulmonary toxicity induced by dronedarone, and dronedarone should not be selected as a substitute treatment drug for patients with amiodarone-induced pulmonary toxicity. It is recommended that clinicians monitor the diffusion capacity of carbon monoxide and lung ventilation function of patients before and after using dronedarone for treatment. For patients with a history of amiodarone exposure, intermittent monitoring of chest X-rays and lung function is necessary. If lung function decreases, dronedarone should be immediately discontinued. • The parameters of fiber laser cutting effect on GFRP surface geometric characteristics and roughness. • Constructing a neural network model for predicting quality characteristics, with a fitness value of 97.814%. • The kerf quality characteristics are optimized simultaneously and obtain multiple processing schemes. Laser cutting can achieve ultra-precision cutting of materials by using appropriate parameters. In order to optimize processing parameters and obtain better processing quality, conducted experimental research on laser cutting of Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP). In this study, the impact of four process parameters (laser power, cutting speed, assistant gas pressure and focus position) on quality characteristics (kerf width, kerf taper and kerf section roughness) was evaluated through analysis of variance (ANOVA), the regression relationship between laser processing parameters and quality characteristics was analyzed. And an integrative model for predicting and optimizing the quality characteristics of fiber laser cutting was constructed. In the proposed integrative model, Back-Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) was used to build a prediction model for quality characteristics. Through Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGAII) optimizes and outputs the complete optimal solution set of processing parameters, and finally realizes the nonlinear optimization of multi-objective parameters. The fitness value of BPNN model can reach 97.814%, and the maximum prediction relative error is 8.614%. And the set of suggested optimal solutions can be used as most of them are showing certain improvements in the quality characteristics. To understand what and how structural properties affect battery performance, and to optimize the structural properties accordingly are of crucial importance to improve the performance of cathode materials for advanced Li-ion batteries. Herein, we investigated the influence of Li-enrichment in Li 1+ x (Ni 0.8 Co 0.2) 1- x O 2 transition metal (TM) oxide cathodes, obtained by sintering Ni 0.8 Co 0.2 (OH) 2 precursor with different amount of Li sources. Compared with stoichiometric Li 1+ x (Ni 0.8 Co 0.2) 1- x O 2 (i.e. x = 0, Li:TM = 1:1), the improvements of cycling stability and rate performance were observed in material with moderate degree of Li-enrichment with respect to TMs (i.e. x = 0.019, Li:TM = 1.04:1). Further increase in Li:TM ratio up to 1.07 diminishes the electrochemical performance. Multi-scale structural characterizations including neutron diffraction and aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy measurements show that the Li-enrichment leads to a monotonical increase in both Li/Ni exchange ratio and Li slab space. Based on the results, we argue that, in material with moderate Li-enrichment, larger Li slab space can facilitate the diffusion of Li ions and a certain amount of Li/Ni disordering can also mitigate the contraction of layered structure, therefore resulting in an optimized electrochemical performance; while in material with excessive Li:TM ratio, the diffusion path can be partially blocked due to the presence of redundant Ni ions in Li layers. In this work, the electrochemical performance of high-Ni layered oxide cathode is optimized by tuning the degrees of Li-enrichment in its lattice structure. The optimized cycling stability and rate performance are associated to the optimized structural properties including moderate values of Li/Ni exchange ratio and Li slab space, which will stabilize structure and facilitate the diffusion of Li ions. Taisui, an unclassified biological object, is considered as a functional food with rich medicinal value in ancient Chinese books. However, there are few studies on Taisui, particularly on its anticancer activity and underlying mechanisms. Herein, we evaluated the anticancer potential of Taisui fermentation broth using HCT116 cells and nude mice xenografts in vitro and in vivo. Taisui fermentation broth inhibited HCT116 cells proliferation by inducing S-phase arrest, apoptosis, and autophagy, by regulating related proteins. Taisui fermentation broth-induced HCT116 cells death was reversed by inhibiting apoptosis and autophagy. Autophagy inhibition suppressed Taisui fermentation broth-induced apoptosis, whereas apoptosis inhibition attenuated Taisui fermentation broth-induced autophagy. Taisui fermentation broth induced apoptosis and autophagy by regulating reactive oxygen species-mediated c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase/p38 signaling in HCT116 cells. Additionally, Taisui fermentation broth inhibited tumor growth in a mouse xenograft model. Taisui fermentation broth may be a promising anticancer agent for the treatment of colorectal cancer. Laser technology is widely used in the processing of various composite materials. Ablation and heat affected zone (HAZ) are important phenomena in laser processing, but the relationship between ablation and HAZ defects has not been deeply researched. In this paper, laser cutting of glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) was investigated by means of fiber laser. To assess the influence of the process parameters on ablation and HAZ, four main parameters were selected as the experimental factor in single factor experimental study. The degree of material ablation was judged according to the phenomenon of light spot and plume in processing, and the width of HAZ was measured by optical microscope. The experimental analysis shows that the HAZ defects by the ablation phenomenon can be evaluated to reveal the relationship between ablation and HAZ. Oxidation behaviors of SiC in the presence of some impurities are very important for the performance of SiC used in high temperature environments such as aerospace vehicles and nuclear reactors. In this study, the effects of NaF on the oxidation behaviors of SiC powder with grain sizes from 0.3~2 μm were investigated. NaF with contents of 0.2~10 wt.% was added to the 6H-SiC powder (~ 1 μm) and the mixtures were oxidized at 500~800 °C for 30 min in air atmosphere. Compared with pure SiC, enhanced oxidation was observed with the NaF addition as low as 0.2 wt.%. When the content of NaF was increased to 2.0%, the weight gain ratio of SiC reached 23.0% at the oxidation temperature of 700 °C, which was only 0.6% for pure SiC powder. In the TG analysis, the onset oxidation temperature for the SiC-2.0%NaF sample was significantly decreased to 570 °C. The weight gain was increased with the decrease of SiC grain size. The intensive oxidation was confirmed by SEM, TEM, XRD and XPS characterizations. The formation of free carbon during the oxidation process was demonstrated by XRD and Raman spectroscopy. New polytype of SiC of 15R and defects were formed in the 6H-SiC matrix after oxidation. The results showed that NaF could greatly accelerate the oxidation of SiC and played a very important role in the microstructure evolution of SiC. In this work, FTO/amorphous-(In 0.23 Ga 0.77) 2 O 3 /spiro-OMeTAD photodetector capable of broadband detection (200–400 nm) with wavelength discrimination is fabricated. Incorporation of spiro-OMeTAD as hole transport layer improved self-powered performance of FTO/amorphous-(In 0.23 Ga 0.77) 2 O 3 /spiro-OMeTAD broadband photodetector. Under 260 nm illumination, the photodetector exhibited a responsivity (R) of 0.63 mA/W and a detectivity (D *) of 5.40 × 1010 cm Hz1/2 W−1 under zero bias. The values enhanced to R = 0.61 mA/W and D * = 5.50 × 1010 cm Hz1/2 W−1 under 320 nm illumination. For 400 nm illumination, the values were R = 0.35 mA/W, D * = 4.90 × 1010 cm Hz1/2 W−1 under zero bias. Moreover, FTO/amorphous-(In 0.23 Ga 0.77) 2 O 3 /spiro-OMeTAD photodetector demonstrated faster response speed with rising time decreased to 0.02 s and decay time decreased to 0.04 s, compared to FTO/amorphous-(In 0.23 Ga 0.77) 2 O 3 photodetectors under 260 nm illumination. The wavelength discrimination capability within 200–400 nm range was attributed to type-I staggered band alignment in FTO/amorphous-(In 0.23 Ga 0.77) 2 O 3 interface and type-Ⅱ staggered band alignment in spiro-OMeTAD/amorphous-(In 0.23 Ga 0.77) 2 O 3 interface, through choosing illumination on FTO or spiro-OMeTAD sides. In conclusion, FTO/amorphous-(In 0.23 Ga 0.77) 2 O 3 /spiro-OMeTAD heterogeneous junction, using a combination of p-type polymer and inorganic wide bandgap semiconductors, shows great potential for self-powered and high-performance broadband photodetectors. Photoelectrochemical-type (PEC) photodetectors (PDs) show great promise in underwater optoelectronic devices, but most reports of PEC PDs use acid or basic solutions as electrolytes, hindering their practical application in marine scenarios. In this letter, we reported high-performance 2D CuSe-based PEC PDs with use of the electrolyte of simulated seawater for the first time. The 2D CuSe nanosheet array (NSA) is synthesized by a facile electrodeposition method. The PEC PDs based on 2D CuSe NAS has a superior responsivity of 9.5 mA/W for 455 nm light in the simulated seawater, and exhibits a broadband photoresponse in 365–850 nm, surpassing most TMCs-based PEC PDs. The superior photoresponse originates from the vertical NSA structure, providing more interfacial active sites and higher light absorption. In addition, 2D CuSe NSA-based PEC PDs possess self-powered ability, fast response speed, good stability, and underwater optical communication capability. [Display omitted] • GCDs as substrate exhibit excellent SERS effect and catalytic properties. • GCDs can be further used for detection of glucose. • GCDs exhibit dual functional properties for chemical detection. The nanocomposites with highly synergistic effect show important potential application as nanozymes. Herein, the chain-like Au/carbon dots (CDs) (GCDs) nanocomposites were prepared by self-assembly method. The negatively charged Au nanoparticles (NPs) and positively charged CDs were connected by the electrostatic interaction. Then, the electron transfer between Au and CDs induces the strong catalytic effect of GCDs nanocomposites. The cross-linking reaction occurred between amino groups and carboxyl groups on the surface of CDs, which led to form the chain-like Au aggregation surrounded by carbon shells. By FDTD simulation, the aggregation of Au NPs may enhance the electromagnetic field so that the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) signal can be increased based on GCDs nanocomposites as substrate. Otherwise, the GCDs nanocomposites can also be used to catalyze the oxidation of colourless3,3',5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) to blue oxTMB in the presence of H 2 O 2 , which displays the enhanced peroxidase-like activity compared with alone Au NPs or CDs. The obvious oxidation process of TMB molecules may be monitored by the change of SERS signal during the catalytic reaction. On this basis, GCDs nanocomposites can be further used for detection of glucose. The detection level of glucose is obtained as low as 5 × 10−7 M. Abstract The crystal structure, dynamics, magnetic structure and property of orthochromites solid solution Ho 1−x Y x CrO 3 (x = 0, 0.2,...,1.0) were systematically investigated by X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering, magnetometry and neutron powder diffraction. With increasing non-magnetic Y3+-substitution for Ho3+ throughout the whole range, the crystallographic parameters remain almost unchanged, so is Néel temperature (T N ≈ 141 K), which is closely related to the structure in these orthochromites. However, the Raman spectra demonstrates the lattice dynamics is influenced due to the mass difference between Ho3+ and Y3+. Moreover, the spin reorientation property is also strongly affected by Y-substitution revealed by neutron powder diffraction. For the composition of x ≤ 0.6, the magnetism of Cr3+ sublattice adopts Γ 2 spin configuration in terms of Bertaut notation from low temperature (10 K) up to Néel temperature. With the doping concentration further increases to x = 0.7 and 0.8, the system exhibits a mixed structure of (Γ 2 + Γ 4) within a certain temperature range. Beyond and underneath of which, a single spin configuration is identified as Γ 4 (G x A y F z) and Γ 2 (F x C y G z), respectively. After x = 0.8, only Γ 4 (G x A y F z) are observed below T N. These phenomena are attributed to the weakened Ho3+-Cr3+ interaction with Y-substitution, which causes a competition between Γ 2 and Γ 4 spin configurations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lycopene (LYC) has been regarded as a nutraceutical that has powerful antioxidant and hepatoprotective bioactivities. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the beneficial effects of LYC on hepatic insulin signal transduction under oxidative stress conditions and the possible involvement of FGF21 and mitochondria pathways. Two-month-old CD-1 mice were treated by intraperitoneal injection of D-galactose (D-gal) 150 mg/kg/day for 8 weeks and received 0.03% LYC (w/w, mixed into diet). The results showed that LYC increased the expression of FGF21, alleviated mitochondrial dysfunction and improved hepatic insulin signal transduction in D-gal-treated mice. Furthermore, knockdown of FGF21 by small interfering RNA notably suppressed mitochondrial function and blunted LYC-stimulated insulin signal transduction in H2O2-treated HepG2 cells. Moreover, suppressed mitochondrial function via oligomycin also inhibited insulin signal transduction, indicating that LYC supplementation ameliorated oxidative stress-induced hepatic dysfunction of insulin signal transduction by up-regulating FGF21 and enhancing mitochondrial function. Polypeptide carriers have a good cell compatibility, rich functionality, and facile synthesis and modification, make them promising materials as siRNA vectors. Phenylalanine dipeptide (FF) has been previously assessed as an siRNA vector and showed to have two major drawbacks, namely poor water solubility and poor serum stability. Herein, the FF backbone was modified by ligating a PEG-Arg-Ala (PEG-RA) sequence at the N-terminus to increase its hydrophilicity and serum stability. Arg is a typical amino acid in the cell penetrating peptide, which can increase the efficiency of cell internalization. Ala acts as a spacer to avoid steric hindrance. The target sequence PEG-RAFF was synthesized by a solid phase peptide synthesis. The morphology, particle size, and siRNA ratio were assessed by SEM, TEM, DLS, and gel electrophoresis. Further, MCF-7 cells were used as a model and survivin -siRNA as a passenger to assess cell internalization, inhibition of gene expression rate, and apoptosis rate using confocal microscopy, real-time PCR, and flow cytometry. At a concentration of 1 mg/mL, PEG-RAFF took the form of nanovesicles with a diameter of 154.74 ± 14.36 nm. The optimal PEG-RAFF to siRNA ratio was N/P = 100:1. Compared with the control group, the red fluorescence of TAMRA(Carboxytetramethylrhodamine, Red fluorescence)-siRNA transfected into cells was clearly visible in the confocal microscope image. The inhibition rate of survivin was 67.99 ± 10.31%, and the apoptotic rate was 16.07%. Therefore, PEG-RAFF has potential as an siRNA carrier in cancer treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
