Porto-sinusoidal vascular disorder (PSVD) encompasses a group of vascular disorders characterized by lesions involving the portal venules and sinusoids, independent of the presence of portal hypertension (PH), and for which liver biopsy is essential for diagnosis. PSVD has been shown to be common in patients with immune-mediated diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The association between PSVD and the use of thiopurines and thioguanine in patients with IBD has been well established. In addition, research suggests an association between PSVD and IBD, even in cases where patients haven't been exposed to specific medications, probably related to changes in intestinal permeability. The identification and management of patients with known IBD and PSVD is a challenge for gastroenterologists. This narrative review aims to summarize the currently available data on the association between IBD and PSVD and provide practical suggestions for the management of this group of patients. Digital single-operator cholangioscopy (D-SOC) is an endoscopic procedure that is increasingly used for the management of bilio-pancreatic diseases. We aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of D-SOC for diagnostic and therapeutic indications. This is a multicenter, prospective study(January 2016-June 2019) across eighteen tertiary centers. The primary outcome was procedural success of D-SOC. Secondary outcomes were: D-SOC visual assessment and diagnostic yield of SpyBite biopsy in cases of biliary strictures, stone clearance rate in cases of difficult biliary stones, rate of adverse events(AEs) for all indications. D-SOC was performed in 369 patients (201(54,5%) diagnostic and 168(45,5%)therapeutic). Overall, procedural success rate was achieved in 360(97,6%) patients. The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV and accuracy in biliary strictures were: 88,5%, 77,3%, 83,3%, 84,1% and 83,6% for D-SOC visual impression; 80,2%, 92,6%, 95,1%, 72,5% and 84,7% for the SpyBite biopsy, respectively. For difficult biliary stones, complete duct clearance was obtained in 92,1% patients (82,1% in a single session). Overall, AEs occurred in 37(10%) cases.The grade of AEs was mild or moderate for all cases, except one which was fatal. D-SOC is effective for diagnostic and therapeutic indications.Most of the AEs were minor and managed conservatively, even though a fatal event has happened that is not negligible and should be considered before using D-SOC. Italy recorded its first case of confirmed acute respiratory illness because of coronavirus on February 18, 2020, soon after the initial reports in China. Since that time, Italy and nations throughout the world have adopted very stringent and severe measures to protect populations from spread of infection. Despite these measures, the number of infected people is growing exponentially, with a significant number of patients developing acute respiratory insufficiency. Endoscopy departments face significant risk for diffusion of respiratory diseases that can be spread via an airborne route, including aspiration of oral and fecal material via endoscopes. The purpose of this article is to discuss the measures, with specific focus on personal protection equipment and dress code modalities, implemented in our hospital to prevent further dissemination of COVID-19 infection. Previous research suggests that Pokémon Go can be employed as an intervention for promoting healthy behavior on a large scale. In contrast, some scholars expressed concerns about the long-term effects of this mobile game, indicating that the impact of the app on exercise is just moderate. We hypothesized that Pokémon Go users are more active, but this tendency is mainly driven by the greater physical activity needed to level up in the game and does not extend to physical activities in general. In the present study, 981 individuals completed a web survey, in which participants' frequency of Pokémon Go usage, overall physically active behavior, and amount of Pokémon Go related physical activity were measured. Regression analyses revealed that Pokémon Go related physical activity significantly reversed the positive effects of the app on participants' overall physically active behavior, suggesting that the mere adoption of the app does not reliably change people's behavior in general. Despite their popularity, strategy video games have been poorly studied in social science. Because strategy video games require long gaming sessions and planning and management of resources for reaching long-term goals, we assumed that they would function as a virtual training center for self-regulation abilities in every-day life. Adopting the Strength Model of Self-control theoretical framework (Baumeister, Vohs, and Tice, 2007), in two cross-sectional studies we examined the extent to which playing strategy video games predicts self-regulation. In Study 1 , we found a positive significant association between strategy video game play – controlling for the impact of other video game genres - and self-regulation. In Study 2 , we deepened this relationship by controlling for the effects of some personality traits and individual preferences (i.e., age, gender, satisfaction with life, avoidance of temptations, need for cognition, risk taking, impulsiveness, Big 5, and overall frequency of exposure to video games). As in Study 1 , playing strategy video games was positively associated with self-regulation. Awareness of how important food and food culture are to the quality of children''s life is a presupposition that promotes research in the sector of school lunch. The aim of this work was to evaluate liking for meals supplied to primary school refectories of the Municipality of Milan. It appears particularly interesting to investigate consumption of meals in Italy in view of both food combinations and the nutritional aspect of the Mediterranean diet. In addition, meals are typically subdivided into four distinct components in Italy. All the children (120) involved, aged between 7 and 10, supplied liking scores as shown in a previous work [Italian J. Food Sci. 2 (2003) 215] for a set of first courses, second courses, vegetables and fruit/dessert.From results it can be seen that preferences for most dishes of younger children (7 years old) differed from those of the older ones (10 years old). Also, unlike 8-, 9- and 10-year-old children, 7-year-old children supplied steadily higher acceptability scores than the intermediate score on the evaluation scale used. Based on our data, it was shown that children become increasingly aware of their preferences and critical in their choices with growing age. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
