Cellulose-derived materials have gained a lot of attention for applications in advanced electronics because they are abundant, low cost, lightweight, and sustainable. Herein, we report a paper-based triboelectric nanogenerator (P-TENG) using commercially available materials derived from cellulose by a facile and cost-effective approach. Print paper is used as the substrate, while crepe cellulose paper (CCP) paired with a nitrocellulose membrane (NCM) are used as the friction layers of the P-TENG. CCP and NCM have significantly different tribopolarities and microstructures (i.e., corrugated and porous structures for CPP and NCM, respectively), thereby yielding P-TENGs with outstanding triboelectric performance. For instance, we have demonstrated P-TENGs with an output voltage and current of 196.8 V and 31.5 μA, respectively, a high power density of 16.1 W/m2, and a robust durability of more than 10,000 cycles. The P-TENGs, as a sustainable power source, can power various electronic devices. Moreover, their great potential applications in self-powered sensing and human–machine interfaces have been demonstrated. Human motion, like a finger touch, can be detected by the P-TENG. A keyboard based on an array of P-TENGs is able to achieve self-powered, real-time communication between a Paper Piano and a computer. This study not only combines the advantages of CCP and NCM to produce high-performance P-TENGs, but also demonstrates the feasibility of using commercially available products to prepare green and sustainable electronics. While the work on place attachment is extensive, it neglects to focus on residents' and tourists' perspectives of the construct concurrently. Additionally, the role that social factors play in forging attachment to place is lacking within the tourism literature. This work focuses on whether residents' (n = 469) and tourists' (n = 461) degree of place attachment at the Osun Oshogbo Cultural Festival (Nigeria) were significantly different. Examining the psychometric properties of the place attachment scale in an international context was a second aim. The final purpose of this work was to assess whether social factors (i.e., frequency of interaction and emotional closeness) between residents and tourists could explain the resulting CFA place attachment factors. MANOVA results revealed tourists demonstrated a significantly higher degree of attachment. Each social determinant predicted the attachment factors for both samples, with the two independent variables explaining higher degrees of variance among residents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study introduces self-perception theory as a guiding framework in explaining residents' attitudes from an introspective approach involving residents' own degree of travel. To date, measures explaining such attitudes have primarily come in the form of sociodemographic, socioeconomic, spatial, personal benefit/dependence, etc. variables. Results reveal that travel use history (TUH) is a useful predictor of residents' attitudes about tourism development. Residents who were infrequent travelers indicated less support for tourism than those who were intermediate or frequent travelers. For intermediate travelers, residents who had traveled internationally over the past two years had stronger support than those who had not for selected items within both attitude factors: support for tourism development and tourism contributions to the community. Findings provide support for the continued use of self-perception theory as a framework to consider in explaining residents' attitudes involving tourism and corresponding development. In this work, an original amphiphilic copolymer P(PEG-PDMS-KH570) combined with SiO 2 nanoparticles (SiO 2 NPs) was utilized to prepare polyether sulfone (PES) nanocomposite ultrafiltration (UF) membrane with enhanced antifouling performance. The enrichment of the organic-inorganic modifier P(PEG-PDMS-KH570)@SiO 2 were realized at the same time as the formation of PES UF membrane via sol-gel non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) process. The interaction between the copolymer P(PEG-PDMS-KH570) and SiO 2 NPs furnished a stable and effective antifouling PES UF membrane. Surface morphology, chemical composition characterization and wetting property measurements confirmed the segregation and distribution of the nanocomposite modifier. The multi-defense mechanism from fouling resistance to fouling release of the nanocomposite membranes was investigated by setting bovine serum albumin (BSA) aqueous solution as a model foulant. The antifouling properties of the modified membranes, especially for the PES/T@SiO 2 ∼4% membrane, were effectively improved. The flux decline rate of PES/T@SiO 2 ∼4% membrane was as low as 15.6%, and the flux recover ratio was up to 99.0%. Moreover, the modified membranes also possessed remarkable antifouling stability. Results of this work provide a facile method to construct a hierarchical and heterogeneous membrane surface that could achieve the multi-defense mechanism in efficient water treatment. This paper analyses the influence of structural elements of articles (i.e., field-, journal-, article-, and author/reader related factors) along with place-related factors (i.e., destination, attraction, hotel/resort, or festival/special event/mega event) on citations received by research papers in the three top-tier tourism journals: Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, and Tourism Management from 1990 to 2010. Multiple linear regression tests showed that number of years since an article was published, length of an article, and frequency of journal publication were significant in predicting the frequencies of articles cited in SSCI and/or Scopus. The order of articles within an issue was also a significant predictor in Scopus. In addition, the citation frequency in the three journals differed with each other across SSCI and Scopus. Lastly, mentioning of place in the title of an article had a significant relationship, although it was negative, with the frequency of citations the article received in SSCI and Scopus. • Immediate experiences during youth activities may facilitate development. • Immersion is the mechanism through which immediate experiences promote development. • Immersion results from satisfaction of psychological needs. • Psychological need satisfaction results from optimal challenge and intrinsic motivation. • Activities can be structured to facilitate optimal challenge and intrinsic motivation. We examined linkages through which structured camp experiences may facilitate satisfaction of psychological needs and thereby contribute to expansion of the self. First, we tested the effects of "leveling-up" the challenges of activities with the skills of campers and camper motivation source (intrinsic, integrated, introjected, and extrinsic) on immediate psychological need satisfaction during each of eight camp activities (archery, crafts, dancing, fishing, kayaking, riflery, rock wall climbing, and swimming). Then, we tested relations between psychological need satisfaction and the subjective experience, immersion. Immersion, theoretically, yields expansion of the self. Campers (n = 150, ages 11–13, co-recreational) reported their sense of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, and degree of immersion immediately following each of the eight camp activities. The hypothesized causal sequences were supported by the data. Camper motivation source and leveling-up the challenge-skill structure of immediate camp experiences yielded psychological need satisfaction.
