Abstract

Although substantial progress has been made in the last decades in eliminating iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) in Europe, challenges remain due to fragmentation and diversity of IDD prevention and monitoring programs. Therefore, the objective of our study was to identify potential barriers for implementing or continuing IDD prevention and monitoring programs and to suggest solutions. Abstract

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a neoplasm affecting mainly elderly people. We developed a state-transition Markov model to project life expectancy (LE), lifetime costs, and incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (ICERs) of five sequential treatment options for elderly patients with MM in Austria.
