Background: Overweight/obesity and depression are highly co-occurring conditions with shared pathophysiology as well as social and economic determinants. To our knowledge, this is the first systematic review aims to comprehensively synthesize extant literature with a focus on the effectiveness of interventions targeting obesity and depression comorbidity.Methods: We searched databases including MEDLINE, ProQuest Central, Web of Science, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library, from inception of the databases until Nov 12, 2021. Articles were included if they reported on the effects of pharmacological, psychological or dietary interventions on comorbid depression and overweight/obesity as their primary or secondary outcome.Results: Of the 5480 identified records, 19 eligible researches comprising 15 RCTs and 4 uncontrolled longitudinal studies for 3408 participants with comorbid depression and overweight/obesity. The available literature is not sufficient to inform evidence-based treatments targeting obesity and comorbid depression contemporaneously. Notwithstanding, the combination of CBT and lifestyle intervention show efficacy targeting obesity and comorbid depression as do some nutritional supplements, antidepressants and anti-diabetic agents.Limitations: The high heterogeneity of various interventions in the included studies may cause a lack of comparability between different studies.Conclusions: Concurrent management of depression and overweight/obesity is suggested by available data. There is a pressing need for studies that evaluate the effectiveness in real world samples of persons experiencing multiple co-occurring chronic diseases including but not limited to depression and overweight/obesity. Congenital hepatoblastoma is an exceedingly rare neoplasm, predominantly documented as isolated instances, with contentious aspects surrounding its therapeutic approaches and prognostic implications. This study aims to comprehensively summarize and evaluate the management experience of congenital hepatoblastoma (CHB). This cohort comprised five infants diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, confirmed through pathological examination, and with an onset of symptoms before 28 days of age. They were enrolled between November 2019 and May 2022. The treatment course they underwent has been summarized, and their prognosis has been subject to analysis. Distinguishing congenital hepatoblastoma from other medical conditions is typically necessary. Given the patient's tender age, the approach to treatment demands comprehensive assessment, particularly in cases involving unique tumor locations or substantial tumor sizes. The selection of treatment modalities, encompassing preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgical techniques, becomes of paramount importance. Furthermore, determining the treatment's endpoint poses a notable challenge and often necessitates a comprehensive evaluation. For pediatric patients afflicted with CHB, the application of preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy mitigates surgical risks, while the incorporation of surgical procedures followed by postoperative chemotherapy significantly enhances the overall prognosis. Additionally, AFP-L3% levels may serve as a valuable adjunctive marker signifying the conclusion of treatment. • Congenital hepatoblastoma is primarily documented via case reports. with this study reporting a higher number of cases. • Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is safe and effective for patients with CHB when initial surgical removal is not possible. • Three-dimensional imaging, utilizing contrast-enhanced abdominal CT scans, can facilitate tumor resection. • AFP-L3 can serve as a valuable tool for determining the appropriate treatment endpoint. • In certain cases, tumor block resection may lead to an improved prognosis and obviate the need for liver transplantation. Nanocellulose is a sustainable nanomaterial and a versatile green platform that has attracted increasing attention. Although the wide applications of its aqueous suspensions are closely related to rheology, comprehensive studies of their rheological behavior, especially the yielding behavior, are still limited. Herein, to investigate the relationship between structure and rheological properties, the viscoelasticity, thixotropy and yielding behavior of two commonly used nanocelluloses, rod-shaped cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and filamentous cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs), were systematically investigated. The viscosity, viscoelasticity and thixotropic behavior of the suspensions were analyzed by steady-state shear, frequency sweep, creep-recovery, hysteresis loop, and three-interval thixotropic recovery tests. The yielding behaviors were evaluated through creep, steady-state shear, step shear rate, stress ramps, amplitude sweep, and large amplitude oscillatory shear tests. The rheological properties of the two typical suspensions showed a strong dependence on concentration and time. However, compared to CNC suspensions, CNF suspensions exhibited stronger thixotropy and higher yield stress due to the higher aspect ratio of CNF and the stronger structural skeleton of the suspensions as supported by Simha's equation and micromorphology analysis. Physical gels from natural polysaccharides present the advantage of no toxic cross-linking agents and no chemical modification during preparation. Herein, novel physical gels, transparent organogels and opaque hydrogels from the microorganism-derived (1,3)- β -D-glucan of curdlan were prepared in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) using the freeze-thaw technique, followed by a solvent-exchange strategy with water. The mechanical and structural properties of these gels were investigated by rheology, scanning electron microscopy, attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy, wide-angle X-ray diffraction and small-angle X-ray scattering. Gelation mechanisms and intermolecular interaction models have also been proposed. The good solvent DMSO serves as both a crosslinker and a pore-foaming agent in organogels. The reversible macromolecular conformation changes and phase separation of curdlan endow the gels with reversible transparency, volume change and tunable mechanical strength. The new design strategy of facile preparation and performance tuning provides a platform for developing new organogels and sterile hydrogels of curdlan. Compare to congenital mesoblastic nephroma in fetus, congenital wilms tumor is extremely rare. Herein we report a case of congenital bilateral solid masses on antenatal ultrasound. The mass was evaluated by ultrasonography and contrast computed tomography scan in postnatal period, and the patient was undergoing tumor enucleation separately in short period after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The diagnosis was confirmed by histology analysis for each side, and the treatment was taken according to the International Society of Pediatric Oncology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It is of high interest to obtain hydrogel membranes with optimum mechanical stability, which is a prerequisite to the successful fabrication of hydrogel microcapsules for cell separation. In this work, we developed magnetic responsive alginate/chitosan (MAC) hydrogel microcapsules by co-encapsulation of microbial cells and superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) reacting under a high voltage electrostatic field. We investigated the influence of the molecular weight of chitosan, microcapsules size, and membrane crosslinking time on the swelling behavior of microcapsules as an indicator of stability of the membranes. The results demonstrated that the suitable membrane stability conditions were obtained by a crosslinking of the microspheres with a chitosan presenting a molecular weight of 70 kDa for 15–30 min resulting in a membrane thickness of approximately 30 mm. Considering the need of maintaining the cells inside the microcapsules, fermentation at 37 °C and at neutral pH was favorable. Moreover, the MAC microcapsules sizing between 300 and 380 μm were suitable for immobilizing Bacillus licheniformis in a 286 h multiple fed-bath operation with no leakage of the SPIONs and cells.
