This study reviews Islamic FinTech research development from 2017 to 2022. The study adopts a hybrid approach combining bibliometric and content analysis to reveal the current research trend of Islamic FinTech research. Using the Scopus database, we retrieve 85 documents and analyze them using RStudio and VOSviewer. The content analysis categorizes the research output in Islamic FinTech into four distinct streams. The study finds potential for cointegrating FinTech into Islamic finance to benefit the unbanked and small-medium-size businesses, the adoption of FinTech in Islamic finance will also help the government improve financial inclusion, conquer financial crises, such as COVID-19, and achieve SDGs for a sustainable nation. However, the lack of legal regulation and the lower financial literacy becomes the primary obstacle to the development of FinTech in Islamic finance.

Fintech is the new revolution in finance and banking industry. Artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain and other advanced technologies have slowly found space in the banking world. Islamic banking is not untouched by these revolutions. Bahrain is considered as the hub of Islamic banking in the GCC and all over the world. Bahrain has the largest concentration of Islamic banks in the world. The main objective of this study is to find the impact of agility and fintech on the future of Islamic banking in Bahrain. The research has used mainly secondary data for its study. The study concludes that the fintech has potential impact on the future of Islamic banking. There was a reluctant on the part of Islamic banks to adopt fintech. They treated fintech as more of a competitor than the partners. The Islamic banks now must understand to be agile, competitive and aggressive. The study indicated many points which highlights the necessity on the part of Islamic banks to be agile and adopt fintech as partners.

Corona Virus pandemic also known as COVID-19 has adversely affected the billions of people across the globe. There is very little positive to look into this crisis. Thousands of people have lost their lives, millions are infected, millions of people are going to lose their jobs, daily wage laborers and poor’s are fighting for the essentials, small scale industries are fighting for the survival, economies are on the verge of collapse and economists are fearing the greater crisis than the global financial crisis of the 2000s and the great depression of 1930s combined. But there is hope, it has some positives as it has united the people and the economies and it is expected that the world economy will recover from this pandemic and will become stronger. It has provided great hope for the education sector as most of the educational institutes around the world have shifted to online learning and teaching and they are doing quite well. The present study considers this as an opportunity for educational institutions to learn from this situation and develop a learning and teaching model for the future generation. The study proposes a Futuristic cloud-based educational model that will be unaffected by the crisis such as a pandemic, war, decreasing student number enrolment, etc.
