Folium mori, as a plant unconventional feedstuff, are comparatively available due to cost-effectiveness, whereas their usage as aquafeed in pure form is restricted owing to the great fibre and antinutritional factors (ANFs) levels. Thereof, several methods of processing are introduced to remove antinutrient factors from the plant products, leading to improvement of bioactivity and digestibility. The assay was completed to evaluate the method of fermentation and the role of dietary fermented Folium mori (FFM) in golden pompano. Each of 5 diets with FFM at contents of 0.0%, 2.0%, 4.0%, 6.0% and 8.0% (D0.0, D2.0, D4.0, D6.0 and D8.0) was fed to the fishes with original body weight of 9.02g in triplicate sea cages for 56 days. The outcomes revealed that FFM in D4.0 and D6.0 elevated the growing performance of the fishes and the growing performance of D4.0 was remarkably improved in contrast to D0.0 and D2.0(P 0.05). Whole body lipidic levels were obviously elevated when the diet FFM contents were below 8.0% (P 0.05), whereas the contents of muscular moisture were generally reduced. In addition, FFM significantly increased serum high density lipoprotein (HDL) and remarkably reduced overall triglyceride (TG) in D2.0 to D6.0(P 0.05). Moreover, FFM remarkably elevated the activities of lipase of stomach and hepatopancreas in contrast to D0.0 (P 0.05) as well as intestinal tryptic enzyme in the entire FFM groups (P 0.05). Eventually, FFM remarkably ameliorated disease-resistant characters of golden pompano to Vibrio harveyi in D4.0 and D6.0 (P 0.05) and the RPS in D4.0 was optimal. To sum up, the present research displayed favorable role of FFM in growing performance, digestion, lipometabolism and disease-resistant characters, and the recommendation as to the supplementation content of diet FFM in compound feed of juvenile golden pompano is 4.0% as per the experiment status herein.

In this paper, the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) technology, under normal pressure conditions was adopts in this study to deposited ZnO films. The cheap zinc acetate, ammonium fluoride, and gallium chloride was used as Zn source, F source, Ga source and Cl source, respectively for deposited F, Cl, Al and Ga co-doped ZnO (FCAGZO) films. The influence of substrate temperature (Ts) on the morphology, structure, optical and electrical properties of ZnO thin films was studied. X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the Ts does not change the crystal structure of the ZnO film, and all films have a hexagonal wurtzite structure. With increase of Ts only the preferred orientation of the film changes from (1 0 0) to (0 0 2). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy further confirmed the successful doping of ZnO by F, Cl, Al, and Ga, which accounts for the enhancement in carrier concentration in the FCAGZO films over that of pristine ZnO. As Ts increases, the resistivity first decreases, and then gradually increases. When the optimal substrate temperature Ts = 400 °C, the prepared FCAGZO film has a resistivity of 1.47 × 10-3 Ωcm when rapid heat treatment in N2 atmosphere at 750 °C, and the average transmittance exceeds 85% in the range of 400–1400 nm.

Developing low-cost and highly efficient catalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is extremely desirable in water splitting. Herein, we report a controllable synthesis strategy to fabricate high-performance 3D ternary Co-Mo-Ni metal-sulfide heterostructures only by one-step hydrothermal way. It is indicated that a series of CoxMoy-S/NF consisting of MoS2 and CoNi2S4 active sites by optimizing the molar ratio of Co and Mo demonstrates various morphologies, capacitances and electrochemical performances. The obtained Co3Mo2-S/NF heterostructures exhibit superior OER performances in alkaline medium with the overpotential of only 106 mV to afford 20 mA cm−2. Moreover, the catalyst presents the Tafel slope of 53.1 mV dec-1 and good stability. Such excellent activities can be attributed to the distinctive 3D nanoneedles array with large electrochemical active areas, interwoven architecture with defect-rich features, high conductivity and the synergistic effect between MoS2 and CoNi2S4 species. This work demonstrates a facile and controllable pathway to synthesize multiple transitional metal-based chalcogenides as highly efficient OER catalysts.

One of the key tasks in solid oxide fuel cell research is to develop cost-competitive electrodes that work efficiently in wide range of air and fuel utilizations. Herein, we promote our study to a series of Cobalt and Titanium substituted La0.4Sr0.6Fe0.7Ti0.3-xCoxO3-δ (LSFTC, x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2) perovskite oxides. It is shown that Cobalt doping effectively improves the electrical conductivity and oxygen electrochemical reduction activity, yielding decreased cathode polarization resistance and lower dependence of p O 2 change. For example, σ 600 °C = 81 S/cm and R p , C 750 °C = 0.1 Ω cm2 for LSFTC-5 are obtained in p O 2 = 0.21 a t m . In anode conditions of wet H2, the LSFTC cubic perovskites are partially reduced to hybrid structure of ABO3-A2BO4-metal with Cobalt doping amount less than 10% and are fully decomposed to A2BO4-metal with 20% doping. The higher Cobalt substitution generates more nano particles exsolution, which promotes anode processes at low temperatures. However, the generated AO-rich compositions are shown detrimental to anode performance in both conducting property and anode catalytic activity under low H2 partial pressures. In current study, the electrodes are evaluated under practical working conditions with broad p O 2 and p H 2 , which provides guidelines for industrial-applicable SrFeO3 based symmetrical electrode development.

The radio frequency magnetron sputtering technology (RFMS) was employed to deposit perovskite structure orthogonal phase CaZrO3 thin films on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates. The effects of substrate temperatures on structure and electrical properties of these films were investigated in detail. The CaZrO3 thin films were systematically characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Multi-frequency LCR meter (HP4294A) and Radiant Precision Workstation to study the phase structure, cross-section morphology, dielectric and ferroelectric properties at different substrate temperatures. The result indicates that these films can withstand 80 V DC Bias voltage and have excellent stability of frequency, voltage and temperature. The CaZrO3 thin film prepared at 550 °C turned out to be mainly orthorhombic CaZrO3 phase with high permittivity, low dielectric loss, extremely low leakage current (at 1 MHz, the dielectric constant is 39.42, the dielectric loss is 0.00455, the quality factor is 220 and the leakage current density is 9.11 × 10−7A/cm2 at 80 V applied voltage.). This work demonstrates that higher substrate temperature can boost the formation of orthorhombic CaZrO3 phase and the CaZrO3 thin film prepared by RF magnetron sputtering is a very promising paraelectric material in the application of thin film capacitor.

Wearable ECG (Electrocardiograph) technology is an effective method for real-time monitoring of human ECG. According to the consistency of the wearable ECG continuous detection in time, the effective filtering estimation method can solve the problem of large motion ECG interference and data loss. In this paper, the detection principle of ECG signals in wearable monitoring and treatment system is analyzed, and the characteristics of ECG waveform and each band are described. The characteristics of the ECG signal and several major noise signals that need to be suppressed are analyzed. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the indicator set of ECG signal quality, a signal quality evaluation model based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is proposed. The model can comprehensively evaluate the quality of ECG signals and accurately reflect the signal quality. In addition, a model of exercise heart rate estimation based on signal quality assessment and Kalman filter is presented, and the method of obtaining the best heart rate estimation is analyzed. Through the actual test, the model is proved to have high reliability and effectiveness, and the heart rate estimation can be accurately performed under various motion states.

The in-situ precipitated nano metal particle-perovskite anodes show promising application prospects in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. Previously reports mainly show new exsolved material, but barely focus on their practical application concerns. Herein, the structural and electrochemical properties evolution of (La0.4Sr0.6)1-xCo0.2Fe0.7Nb0.1O3-δ (LSCFN, x = 0, 0.05, 0.1) versus varied anode fuel atmospheres are presented. Results show that perovskite-type LSCFN anodes are fully reduced to K2NiF4 structure in dry H2 at 850 °C, but maintain to be ABO3 structure with minor structure change under water containing H2. The exsolved Co1-xFex phases are observed under both conditions, but with much higher Fe content under dry H2. The Electrochemical Impedance Spectra shows that LSCFN anodes are more sensitive to p H 2 change under humidified fuels than dry conditions. Single cells with (La0.4Sr0.6)0.9Co0.2Fe0.7Nb0.1O3-δ anode show promising performance with maximum power densities of 1.2 and 0.95 W/cm2 under dry and wet H2 at 850 °C, respectively.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), a family of persistent organic pollutants with various negative health effects, are inherently formed during biochar pyrolysis. However, the knowledge regarding the leaching potentials and mechanisms of PAHs remains limited for biochar implementation to soil. In this study we evaluated the leaching behaviors of PAHs from sewage sludge-derived biochar pyrolyzed at different temperatures (300–700 °C) using the protocol of Synthetic Precipitation Leaching Procedure (SPLP) with deionized water. Leachate concentrations of sixteen U.S. Environmental Protection Agency PAHs increased with the increasing pyrolysis temperature, exhibiting an opposite pyrolytic temperature dependence with their concentrations in biochar. The total leachate PAH concentration peaked at 700 °C with 11.75 μg/L, corresponding to 15.9% of total PAHs present in biochar. PAH leaching was associated with the release of hydrophobic organic compounds (HOCs) that created a mobile phase to facilitate the mobilization of PAHs into water. The enhanced release of calcium, aluminum, and barium from the biochars with pyrolysis temperature could also favor the leaching of biochar PAHs, due to the destruction of HOCs-(metal ions)-mineral linkages, which improved the release of HOCs and HOCs-bound PAHs; and because the extent of metal cross-linking in biochar is reduced, enabling better diffusion of PAHs through the inner matrix and thus accelerating their desorption.

This work reports the structure, growth rate, dielectric response, and capacitance properties of (100)-oriented Ba0.67Sr0.33TiO3 (BST)/LaNiO3 (LNO) hetero-structure thin films with varied BST layer thicknesses from 34 nm to 342 nm. The BST/LNO hetero-structure thin films were prepared by radiofrequency magnetron sputtering technique on Pt/SiO2/Si substrates. The XRD results showed that the compressive stress is relaxed at around 73 nm of BST layer, and above 119 nm of the BST layer thickness, the tensile stress has a significant effect on the crystal structure of the BST/LNO hetero-structure film. The growth rate of the BST films was thickness-dependent which was strongly related to the minimization of the strain energy. The dielectric constant of BST layer with the compressive stress increase from 177 to 2640 with the increase of BST layer thickness. The BST layer with the tensile stress showed a comparably stable dielectric constant of 2400. In addition, the capacitance properties and the electrical breakdown strength of BST/LNO hetero-structure thin films are also thickness-dependent, respectively. The electrical breakdown strength reached a maximum value of 1237 kV/cm in the BST/LNO hetero-structure thin film with ~73 nm BST layer.

Magnesium oxychloride (MOC) cement is featured with high early strength, low thermal conductivity and low density, but is not widely applied in construction engineering due to its poor water resistance capability. This research has studied the effect of phosphoric acid and tartaric acid additions on the water resistance of MOC cement pastes, in which also reports the effects on setting time, hydration reactions, compressive strength, phase composition, thermal stability and microstructure. 1 wt% of phosphoric acid and tartaric acid additions can improve the water resistance and reduce thermal stability of MOC cement pastes, which is associated with formation of gel-like 5Mg(OH) 2 ·MgCl 2 ·8H 2 O. Moreover, these additions reduce the compressive strength and prolong the setting time of MOC cement pastes, as well as increase the total porosity, the volume fraction of gel pores (100 nm), however, decrease the volume fraction of small capillary pores (10–100 nm) of MOC cement pastes. These effects are caused by both additives but are most pronounced for MOC cement pastes containing phosphoric acid. In addition, 2Mg(OH) 2 ·MgCl 2 ·2H 2 O is a transitional phase in the formative stage of 5Mg(OH) 2 ·MgCl 2 ·8H 2 O in MOC cement.

In this paper, a fabrication method for a patterned (Ba0.67Sr0.33TiO3, BST/LaNiO3, LNO)n thin-film multilayer is reported. The multilayer films were deposited by radio-frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering. A patterning technique of the as-prepared multilayer thin films was developed using ultrasonic-assisted wet etching. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) surface images show that the developed technique can effectively etch the multilayer thin films deposited on SiO2 and Pt substrates without any residues. The etched multilayer thin film units of the size of 50 μm × 50 μm display clear and smooth etching edges, low distortions ( 900) and a relatively low loss tangent (

Open burning of crop residues is a strong seasonal source of air pollutants in many parts of China, but the large day-to-day variability of the associated emissions pose a great challenge for air quality forecasts. Here we developed back-propagation neural network (BPNN) ensembles to forecast the daily fire pixel counts in Southern China during the month of January. The BPNN ensembles were trained using daily assimilated surface meteorological data (including air temperature, relative humidity, pressure, and winds) and daily fire pixel observations from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) for the month of January during the years 2003–2012. We showed that the BPNN ensembles successfully forecasted the day-to-day variability and the interannual variability of fire pixel counts over Southern China in January of the years 2013–2015, with correlation coefficients of 0.6–0.8 against the MODIS observations. We used the forecasted daily fire pixel counts in January 2014 and January 2015 to scale the climatological January biomass burning emissions from the Fire Inventory from NCAR (FINN) and applied the resulting forecasted daily biomass burning emissions to drive the WRF-Chem regional air quality model. The use of BPNN-ensemble-forecasted daily biomass burning pollutant emissions led to significant improvements in the daily forecasts of PM2.5 concentrations in Southern China for January 2014, with the mean bias of the simulated surface PM2.5 concentrations reduced from −9.1% to −1.2%. We repeated the sensitivity simulations for January 2015 and also found a modest improvement when using the forecasted daily biomass burning pollutant emissions (mean bias of the simulated surface PM2.5 concentrations reduced from −5.8% to −2%). Our approach can be applied to other source regions of biomass burning emissions to improve the accuracy of daily air quality forecasts.

Neolamarckia cadamba is a miracle tree species with considerable economic potential used as a timber wood, woody forage and traditional medicine resource. The present study aimed to establish an efficient protocol of plant regeneration and Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation for N. cadamba. Greenish callus were induced from different type explants when cultured on Murashige and Skoog’s (MS) medium supplemented with thidiazuron (TDZ) and kinetin (KT). The callus could differentiate into somatic embryos or adventitious shoots, and these two regeneration pathways often occurred in the same callus clumps. It was found that MS medium supplemented with 2 mg/L TDZ, 0.2 mg/L KT provided the most suitable medium for leaf explants to induce adventitious shoot, delivering a maximum regeneration frequency with a mean of 8.2 shoots per explant. The micro-shoots developed roots in MS supplemented with 0.05 mg/L α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), and could be successfully acclimatized to a greenhouse with more than 90% survival. Based on this regeneration protocol, an Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated genetic transformation system was successfully developed for N. cadamba. Genetic transformation was obtained through the infection of leaf with A. tumefaciens strain GV3101 harboring a modified binary vector pCAMBIA1305 containing the marker genes β-glucuronidase (GUS) and fluorescent protein YFP. The presence of GUS in transformed plants was confirmed using PCR and histological stain, while the expression of YFP was confirmed through fluorescent microscopy and RT-PCR. Out of 276 putative transformants, 15 plants were found to be positive transgenic. Nevertheless, by adopting this protocol, positive transformed plants could be obtained within three months.

In this work, a multi-layer anode supported solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is designed and successfully prepared through sequential tape casting and co-firing. The single cell is consisted of NiO-3YSZ (3YSZ: 3 mol.% yttria doped zirconia) anode support, NiO-8YSZ (8YSZ: 8 mol.% yttria stabilized zirconia) anode functional layer, dense 8YSZ electrolyte layer, and porous 3YSZ cathode scaffold layer with infiltrated La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ cathode. The clear interfaces and good contacts between each layer, without element inter-diffusion being observed, suggest that this sequential tape casting and co-firing is a feasible and successful route for anode supported single cell fabrication. This cell exhibits remarkable high open circuit voltage of 1.097 V at 800°C under room temperature humidified hydrogen, with highly dense and gastight electrolyte layer. It provides a power density of 360 mW/cm2 under operation voltage of 0.75 V at 800°C and a stable operation of ∼110 h at 750°C under current density of −300 mA/cm2. Furthermore, this cell also presents encouraging electrochemical responses under various anode hydrogen partial pressures and maintains high power output at low fuel concentrations.

A facile synthesis approach for metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) materials was studied for developing electrocatalysts with high electrochemical catalytic activity and stability. The prepared composite material contains two essential components: a predesigned bimetallic hybrid Zn/Co zeolitic imidazole frameworks (BMZIFs) and N-doped graphitic carbon (NGC) with various contents of carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Among which, NGC@CNTs-40 (100 mg NGC with 40 mg CNTs) exhibits the best oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) performance in alkaline media. In addition, NGC@CNTs-40 shows high surface area of 353.9 m2 g−1, coexisting micro/mesoporous N-doped carbon, low ID/IG ratio and abundant N atomic species. Remarkably, NGC@CNTs-40 exhibited a limiting current density of 5.66 mA cm−2 and a half-wave potential of 0.81 V, which is comparable with commercial Pt/C (5.22 mA cm−2 and 0.81 V) and most reported non-precious metal catalysts. Moreover, NGC@CNTs-40 exhibits better stability than Pt/C. The transferred electron number of NGC@CNTs-40 is 3.92, close to the ideal value of 4.0. The doping of CNTs into MOFs and the synergetic effect of Zn/Co-BMZIFs can enhance the conductivity of conventional MOFs and the blocked transfer of active substances in MOFs crystals, shedding new light on future applications.

This paper presents the degradation of chloramphenicol (CAP) by chlorine and chlorine dioxide (ClO2) in tap water in a pilot-scale water distribution system (WDS) containing loops of three different pipe materials (stainless steel, ductile iron, and polyethylene). Greater degradation of CAP was seen with chlorine than with chlorine dioxide. After 180 min in the ductile iron loop of the WDS, the percent degradation of CAP by 2.0 mg/L of chlorine or ClO2 was 76% and 52%, respectively. The degradation of CAP by chlorine in the WDS was investigated under various conditions, including chlorine concentrations of 1.0–4.0 mg/L, and varying pipe materials, flow velocity, and temperature. Degradation of CAP under different conditions could be fitted by first-order kinetics, and the determined first-order rate constants (k, min−1) increased with an increase in chlorine concentration, flow velocity, and temperature. The degradation of CAP in different pipes followed the order stainless steel loop > ductile iron loop > polyethylene loop. Identified oxidized products of the chlorination of CAP were in agreement with proposed reaction pathways, which were also theoretically confirmed by quantum chemical calculations. Formation of three disinfection byproducts (chloroform, bromodichloromethane, and dibromochloromethane) was observed, with increases of 7.7, 0.76, and 0.39 µg/L, respectively, after 160 min.

The graph edit distance (GED) is a well-established distance measure widely used in many applications, such as bioinformatics, data mining, pattern recognition, and graph classification. However, existing solutions for computing the GED suffer from several drawbacks: large search spaces, excessive memory requirements, and many expensive backtracking calls. In this paper, we present BSS_GED , a novel vertex-based mapping method that calculates the GED in a reduced search space created by identifying invalid and redundant mappings. BSS_GED employs the beam-stack search paradigm, a widely utilized search algorithm in AI, combined with two specially designed heuristics to improve the GED computation, achieving a trade-off between memory utilization and expensive backtracking calls. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate that BSS_GED is highly efficient on both sparse and dense graphs and outperforms the state-of-the-art methods. Furthermore, we apply BSS_GED to solve the well-investigated graph similarity search problem. The experimental results show that this method is dozens of times faster than state-of-the-art graph similarity search methods.

Global e-commerce platforms present new export opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises in developing countries by significantly lowering the entry barriers of exporting. However, the lack of market selection can lead to a large number of online rms competing for consumers’ attention, resulting in severe congestion in consumers’ search process. When firms’ intrinsic quality is not perfectly observed, these search frictions can further slow down the resolution of the information problem and hinder market allocation towards better rms. In this paper, we investigate how search and information frictions shape rm dynamics and market evolution in global e-commerce. Using detailed data from AliEpxress as well as a rich set of self- collected objective quality measures, we provide stylized facts that are consistent with the presence of search and information frictions. Moreover, using a randomized experiment that offers exogenous demand and information shocks to small prospective exporters, we establish that firms with larger past sales have an advantage in overcoming the search friction and generating future orders. This indicates that initial demand shocks could confound firms’ true quality in determining firm growth and the long-run market structure. We construct and estimate an empirical model of the online market that are consistent with our descriptive and experimental findings and use the model to quantify the extent of demand-side frictions. Counterfactual analyses show that alleviating information frictions and reducing the number of firms can help to improve allocative efficiency and raise consumer welfare.

Roughness length (Z0) is a critical parameter in atmospheric modeling that affects the land–atmosphere interactions. However, atmospheric models often use a fixed and relatively lower value for Z0 in urban areas, which cannot faithfully represent the actual heterogeneous urban underlying surfaces and reproduce the meteorological conditions. In this study, we provided a review of eight semiempirical models based on morphological methods from the literature and adopted them to develop a dataset of nonuniformly distributed roughness lengths in urban areas of Guangzhou, a highly urbanized city in China. In addition, we employed these datasets in the WRF model and evaluated the model. Overall, the estimated Z0 values in dense high-rise areas of the city were significantly higher than those in other regions. Different semiempirical models were found to generate significantly different Z0 values. The average local Z0 values of most models (7 out of 8) were higher than the model default value (0.5 m). Substituting the model default Z0 values with the localized non-uniform Z0 map revealed that the improvement in the simulated temperature and relative humidity at 2 m height was relatively small, whereas the improvement was significant for the simulated wind speed at 10 m height (WS10). The WRF simulations using the C71, T93, and K13 (see the main text for their definitions) schemes to estimate Z0 demonstrated the best improvements in the WS10 simulation of 54%, 50%, and 39%, respectively, compared with that using the default value. This improvement is of great value because many atmospheric models overpredict WS10. The simulation improved not only for the urban sites but also for the non-urban sites, demonstrating an improved ability for all stations. Among the schemes, the C71 and T93 semiempirical models were only applicable for low-density cities, whereas the K13 model applied to cities with significant urbanization. This study revealed the benefit of spatializing the heterogeneous urban roughness length to improve the meteorological simulations. This modification can be employed in the air quality model and further improve the simulations and forecasts of pollutant concentrations.

To study the effect of grafting on the growth and flowering of spray chrysanthemum, Artemisia annua was used as the rootstock and eight spray chrysanthemum varieties 'Zhongshan Jinyang' ('ZSJY'), 'Zhongshan Xinmolian' ('ZSXML'), 'Zhongshan Xuerong' ('ZSXR'), 'Zhongshan Yinggui' ('ZSYG'), 'Zhongshan Zaohong' ('ZSZH'), 'Zhongshan Zhiying' ('ZSZY'), 'Zhongshan Zisongguo' ('ZSZSG'), and 'Zhongshan Ziwei' ('ZSZW') were used as the scions. The plant survival ratio, growth index (crown width, crown circumference, and biomass), and flowering characteristics (total inflorescences per plant, flower diameter, fresh and dry weight of single flowers, and flowering period) were studied after grafting. We found that for variety ‘ZSYG’, the grafted plants showed a 58.4% increase in crown width, a 68.7% increase in crown circumference, a 61.8% increase in the dry weight of the scion, a 108.4% increase in the dry weight of root, a 72.3% increase in the total dry weight, a 28.3% increase in root/shoot, and a 135.2% increase in the total inflorescences per plant compared to those in the own-rooted plants. Grafting can not only promote plant growth and increase plant biomass, and the total inflorescences per plant of spray chrysanthemum but also lengthen the ornamental period of spray chrysanthemum by advancing flowering and delaying the final flowering period. The budding period can be advanced by 13 d, the final flowering period can be delayed by 4 d, and the ornamental period can be increased by 10 d. Therefore, grafting facilitates the growth of spray chrysanthemums, advances flowering, and prolongs the ornamental period.

A new model for cylindrical roller bearings, capable of deterministically handling lubrication and misalignment situations, is developed by coupling a quasi-static model and a finite line-contact EHL solver. Numerical results of internal load, pressure, and film thickness between rollers and raceways as well as bearing stiffness are obtained with different configurations of diametrical clearances, speeds, lubricant viscosity, misalignment angles, and the roller-profile modifications. It is revealed that if the roller bearings operate under zero or negative clearances, the loaded zone expands and additional loads can be produced by lubrication due to geometric constraints to the rollers, especially under light load and high speed conditions. The logarithmic profile of the rollers tolerates the misalignment better than the dub-off or crown profile.
