Post-stroke delirium (PSD) is a frequent and with regard to outcome unfavorable complication in acute stroke. The neurobiological mechanisms predisposing to PSD remain poorly understood, and biomarkers predicting its risk have not been established. We tested the hypothesis that hypoexcitable or disconnected brain networks predispose to PSD by measuring brain reactivity to transcranial magnetic stimulation with electroencephalography (TMS-EEG).We conducted a cross-sectional study in 33 acute stroke patients within 48 hours of stroke onset. Brain reactivity to single-pulse TMS of dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, primary motor cortex and superior parietal lobule of the right hemisphere was quantified by response intensity, effective connectivity, perturbational complexity index (PCIFourteen patients developed PSD while 19 patients did not. The PSD group showed lower excitability, effective connectivity, PCIBrain reactivity to TMS-EEG can unravel brain network states of reduced excitability, effective connectivity, perturbational complexity and natural frequency that identify acute stroke patients at high risk for development of delirium.Findings provide novel insight into the pathophysiology of pre-delirium brain states and may promote effective delirium prevention strategies in those patients at high risk.

Existing evidence on the relationship between maternal tea consumption and pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) is inconclusive. This study aimed to evaluate the association between maternal tea consumption and the risk of PIH.This study analysed the data of women without chronic hypertension who participated in a retrospective birth cohort study conducted from 2010 to 2012 at the Gansu Provincial Maternity and Child Care Hospital in Lanzhou, China. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the association between tea consumption and the risk of PIH and its clinical subtypes by different tea exposure time windows.Among the 10,452 women included in this study, tea consumption during pregnancy was significantly associated with an increased risk of PIH (odds ratio [OR] = 1.44, 95 % confidence interval [CI]: 1.01, 2.05), gestational hypertension (OR = 1.86, 95 % CI: 1.07, 3.21), and early-onset preeclampsia (OR = 2.93, 95 % CI: 1.21, 7.09). This was especially the case with black tea (OR = 3.57, 95 % CI: 1.67, 7.62).Tea consumption during pregnancy might be associated with an increased risk of PIH, gestational hypertension, and early-onset preeclampsia. These findings have important implications for public health in reducing the PIH.

In order to effectively study the regional soil and water ecological environment and its ecological restoration in China’s key ecological protection regions. This paper discusses the ecological problems of soil and water resources from the two research fields of vegetation degradation and soil erosion, and analyzes the causes and effects of ecological restoration measures in recent years. Then, the collected data and the SWAT model were used to study the ecological restoration performance of water and soil resources and the coupling degree of land resource utilization rate and water and soil resources from four aspects, respectively water resource quantity, water resource development utilization rate, land resource utilization rate and coupling degree of water and soil resources. This paper analyzes the coordinated relationship between regional economic development and ecological environment through coupling analysis method, evaluates the level of regional coordinated development at the same time, and puts forward the coupling index of regional coordinated development between regional economy and ecological environment. From 2009 to 2019, the index in Tianshui, Longnan, Baoji and Hanzhong showed a trend of first increasing, then decreasing and then increasing.

Well-defined two-dimensional (2D) cobalt oxalate (CoC2O4•2H2O) nanosheets exhibit more excellent property than common bulk cobalt oxalate due to high specific surface areas and high-efficient transport of ion and electron. However, the delicate control of the 2D morphology of CoC2O4•2H2O during their synthesis remains challenging. Herein, 2D CoC2O4•2H2O nanosheets (M1), grown by straightforward chemical precipitation, can be tuned from three-dimensional (3D) structure during their synthesis with no templates or capping agents. This control is obtained by rationally changing the ratio of reactants with ethylene glycol as solvent. Moreover, Co3O4/CoC2O4 composites (M1-250) have been fabricated through low-temperature thermal treatment of the M1 precursor in air, which possess porous surfaces with the 2D morphology maintained. Benefiting from the porous surfaces, more redox-active sites and better electrical conductivity of Co3O4, the constructed M1-250//AC aqueous device manifest improved kinetics of the electrochemistry process with energy density of 27.9 Wh/kg at 550.7 W/kg and good cycling stability with sustaining 73.0 mAh/g after 5000 cycles.

In this paper, we consider model averaging for expectile regressions, which are common in many fields. The J -fold cross-validation criterion is developed to determine averaging weights. Under some regularity conditions, we prove that the resulting model averaging estimators are asymptotically optimal in the sense that they produce an expectile loss that is asymptotically equivalent to that of an infeasible best-possible model averaging estimator. When the true model is one of the candidate models, the averaged estimators are consistent. Simulation experiments suggest that the proposed method is superior to other competing model selection and averaging methods. Finally, empirical applications on excess stock returns and wages illustrate the proposed method.

Background Gross motor skills are postulated to have a bidirectional relationship with physical activity (PA); however, no study has tested this relationship before and after a summer break. The purpose of this study was to examine the bidirectional relationships between school PA and gross motor skills in children before and after a summer break. Methods Participants were a sample of 440 children recruited from 3 low-income schools (mean age = 8.9 ± 1.2 years, mean ± SD). PA was assessed as average school-day step counts using Yamax DigiWalker (Yamasa Tokei Keiki, Tokyo, Japan) pedometers worn for 5 consecutive school days. Gross motor skills were assessed using the Test for Gross Motor Development, 3rd edition. Data were collected at 2 timepoints: at the end of spring semester (T1) and at the beginning of the subsequent fall semester (T2). An age- and body mass index-adjusted cross-lagged model was employed to relate T1 school step counts with T2 gross motor skills and T1 gross motor skills with T2 school step counts. Results T1 gross motor skills significantly predicted T2 school step counts (β = 0.24, 95%CI: 0.08 to 0.40, p = 0.003); however, T1 school step counts did not predict T2 gross motor skills (β = 0.04, 95%CI: –0.06 to 0.14, p = 0.445). The model explained 35.4% and 15.9% of the variances of T2 gross motor skills and T2 school step counts, respectively. Additional analyses indicated that these relationships were driven primarily by ball skills. Conclusion The relationship between gross motor skills and school PA was not bidirectional; however, higher gross motor skills, specifically ball skills, predicted higher school PA after a 3-month summer break.
