Purpose: Digital innovation requires organizations to reconfigure their information technology infrastructure (ITI) to cultivate creativity and implement fast experimentation. This research inquiries into ITI generativity, an emerging concept demoting a critical ITI capability for organizational digital innovation. More specifically, it conceptualizes ITI generativity across two dimensions—namely, systems and applications infrastructure (SAI) generativity and data analytics infrastructure (DAI) generativity—and examines their respective social and technical antecedents and their impact on digital innovation. Design/methodology/approach: This research formulates a theoretical model to investigate the social and technical antecedents along with innovation outcomes of ITI generativity. To test this model and its associated hypotheses, a survey was administered to IT professionals possessing knowledge of their organization's IT architecture and digital innovation performance. The dataset, comprising responses from 140 organizations, was analyzed using the partial least squares technique. Findings: Results reveal that both dimensions of ITI generativity contribute to digital innovation performance, with the effect of DAI generativity being more pronounced. In addition, SAI and DAI generativities are driven by social and technical factors within an organization. More specifically, SAI generativity is positively associated with the usage of a digital application services platform and IT human resources, whereas DAI generativity is positively linked to the usage of a data analytics services platform, data analytics services usability and data analytics human resources. Originality/value: This research contributes to the literature on digital innovation by introducing ITI generativity as a crucial ITI capability and deciphering its role in digital innovation. Purpose Although government investments in IT is growing, it is unclear how and what kind of IT investments lead to desirable E-Government performance. Several studies pertaining to the business value of IT have developed and tested frameworks for IT infrastructure, IT capability and business performance. However, E-Government-related IT investment outcomes cannot be measured by profits and hence requires a separate investigation. E-Government research using theoretical approach has been reported as very scarce in previous studies. This research aims to bridge the gap by developing a model to study IT infrastructure capability and E-Government performance in the emerging context of new IT service delivery models.Design/methodology/approach This paper follows a case study method in this research with a priori conceptual framework. The data were collected following an interview method used for deductive theory building.Findings The results identified a positive relationship between IT assets and IT infrastructure performance in the presence of service delivery channels and an anticipation of a positive influence of infrastructure performance variables on IT capability which in turn shows positive effect on E-Government performance.Research limitations/implications Because the study followed a qualitative approach, the findings from this study are not useful for statistical generalization. However, the analytical framework provides sufficient ground to test E-Government performance.Practical implications The study provides insights in the choice of IT infrastructure elements fitting an E-Government strategy.Social implications This study provides an integrated framework for measuring E-Government performance, thereby making deployment of IT infrastructure accountable both in terms of IT performance and IT capability. Purpose – An agile supply chain (ASC) includes companies that are operationally linked to each other, such as supply, design, manufacturing and distribution centers that respond and react quickly and effectively to change markets. Information systems and technology have a main role in achieving this objective. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between information integration, information infrastructure flexibility and the ASC in the Iranian power plant industry (IPPI). Design/methodology/approach – The quantitative method was employed in this study. Survey questionnaires were sent to 87 managers in the IPPI to examine the relationship between information integration, information infrastructure flexibility, and the ASC. Findings – The final results indicated that information sharing and responsibility were strongly related with the ASC; accessibility and connectivity had important relations with the ASC; while the relationships between compatibility and adaptableness as IT flexibility variables and ASC were positive but not significant. Research limitations/implications – This study focussed on the impact of IT on the IPPI specifically companies that manufacture boilers, electronic control tools, turbines, turbine blades, generators and other power plant-related components. Practical implications – A new research model was developed to assess the impact of the interrelationships among IT capabilities and the ASC and results should assist managers as well as academicians. Originality/value – An investigation was carried out through this study based on the current situation in IPPI to empirically examine and evaluate the effect of IT integration and flexibility on ASC. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to propose and validate a framework that can be used for assessing the level of banks' readiness for providing e-banking services in Jordan. Design/methodology/approach – A questionnaire-based data-gathering technique, descriptive, and analytical analyses are used. Findings – This study has used three constructs to propose a framework that can assess e-banking readiness: perceptions of bankers, perceptions of customers, and IT infrastructure in banks. However, there is evidence in this paper to support that e-banking has achieved a degree of strategic and operational importance among bank managers. Also, customers are positive about embracing new banking channels. But it seems that technological aspects and IT employees' skills are paramount concerns. Research limitations/implications – This paper proposes a comprehensive framework to gauge banks' readiness to offer e-banking services. Also, it suggests that future work could entail investigating the readiness from financial aspects, and the effect of marketing campaigns on customer's acceptance of using e-banking services. Practical implications – The findings presented in this paper can be used by banks to evaluate their readiness to provide e-banking services to their customers. Also, banks can create a readiness profile, in order to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses of their e-banking services. Originality/value – This paper adds to readiness studies by providing a framework to assess e-banking services.
