1. Late Breaking Abstract - Early ICU physiotherapy on SARS-CoV-2 patients: A Spanish experience case series

Two acute respiratory failure secondary to SARS-CoV-2 subjects were admitted to the Hospital Universitario Vall d´Hebron ICU and Hospital Universitario Nuestra Senora de Candelaria ICU. The ICU respiratory physiotherapy (RP) plays an essential role during all phases of ventilatory care. Still, regarding the lack of information about RP effects in this context, these data are crucial to demonstrate its feasibility to treat SARS-CoV-2 subjects in ARDS. First case: An asthmatic 38 yr woman, sedated and intubated. Second case: Woman, with cardiac arrest, 43 yr, septic shock, hypoxemic encephalopathy, and seizures tracheostomized after ten days in IMV, pleural effusion drained during IMV. Both subjects SARS-CoV-2 positive during Hospital admission. RP goals: to improve WOB, gas exchange, recruit collapsed area, remove lung secretions, IMV wean, muscle strength. Figure 2 shows the RP protocol. Closed system airway suctioning removed abundant semi-thick and yellowish secretion. Early mobilization to upper and lower limbs was performed. Before the successful weaning, the patient presented X-ray, IMV settings, gas exchange, and muscle strength improvements (fig 1).
