SUMMARYDifferential staining of sister chromatids by the fluorescent plus Giemsa (FPG) technique was performed in Allium sativum L. chromosomes unifilarly substituted with BudR. For this purpose optimal concentrations of FudR, BudR and Thd were determined and their influence was studied on cell cycle kinetics. The distribution of sister chromatid exchanges (SCEs) per chromosome was in good agreement with the expected Poisson distribution. There were statistically significant differences in mean SCEs frequencies per cell among respective plants tested. The mean frequency recorded was 99.78 SCEs per cell.
