Abstract
The author reflects on 2013 in which the journal "Recycling Today," will celebrate 50 years of service to the crap and recycling industry. Founded in February 1963, the journal started with the title "Secondary Raw Materials," focusing on serving dealers, processors and consumers of secondary ferrous and nonferrous material, paper and textiles. It is noted that automobile shredders have the most dramatic impact in the industry but shredders of all types have given rise to change.

Abstract
The article focuses on the prices of scrap paper in the market. A recycle based in California described the market as a disaster because the market has turned upside down and the changes came so fast, which has made it difficult to deal with. According to the Southwestern recycler, high grade recovered paper are still moving, but bulk grades are suffering. The decline in the activity in the retail sector is expected to impact the recovered paper market.
