Exopolysaccharides (EPS) of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) has gained special interests in the dairy industry due to their health-promoting properties and contribution to the rheology of fermentation milk products. In the present study, an EPS designated as EPS-NS1905E was partially purified and characterized secreted from L. plantarum NS1905E. The EPS-NS1905E had an average molecular weight of 2.658 × 105 Da and was composed of glucose, arabinose, rhamnose, mannose, and galactose in an approximate molar ratio of 58.83 : 17.4 : 6.31 : 5.86 : 2.74. The FTIR spectroscopy showed the prevalence of carboxyl and hydroxyl groups. The EPS-NS1905E had a thermal stability and exhibited higher viscosity in the NaCl solution and low acidity conditions (pH 2–4). Furthermore, the EPS-NS1905E possessed strong scavenging abilities against DPPH radicals (96%). The addition of EPS-NS1905E in skim milk significantly shortened the fermentation time of yogurt, and the water-holding capacity (WHC) and viscosity of yogurt were improved during storage. This paper presents a computational impact angle control guidance law based on the energy cost weighted by arbitrary functions in order to shape the acceleration command as desired. The optimal guidance problem is established in the impact angle frame and is solved by the Gauss orthogonal collocation method. The proposed guidance law is formulated from the generalized optimal control framework, thus a new guidance law that allows achieving a specific guidance goal can be easily obtained in the way of devising a proper weighting function (smooth, piecewise, nonsmooth, or even discontinuous). This property provides more degrees of freedom in the guidance law design to accomplish a specified guidance objective. A hardware experiment is conducted to evaluate the real-time computational capacity of the proposed computational guidance law. Illustrative examples with several types of weighting functions, including smooth, piecewise, nonsmooth, and discontinuous functions, are provided to demonstrate the advantages and capacity of the proposed guidance law. Collaboration between social workers (SW) and community health workers (CHW) plays an essential role in addressing health inequities in the United States (US). However, little is known about the current state of CHW/SW collaboration. The objectives of this review were to identify (a) the nature, goals and setting of CHWs and SW collaboration; (b) the patient outcomes utilised to measure intervention efficacy. The literature search was conducted in December 2020 using six databases. The inclusion criteria were (1) interventions that included CHWs and SWs; (2) US‐based; (3) published between 2000–2020; (4) peer‐reviewed journal articles; (5) examining health or mental health outcomes. Search results identified 281 articles, and 15 were included in the final analysis. Settings that utilised SW/CHW collaboration included outpatient clinics (n = 10); community organisations (n = 4) or hospital (n = 1). CHW and SW interventions focused on disease prevention (n = 8), chronic care (n = 4) and mental health (n = 3). Health outcomes were the most evaluated (n = 13), and significant improvement of at least one health outcome was reported in those studies. Mental health outcomes (n = 3) were also significantly improved, while social determinants of health (n = 2) were least common and descriptive only. This is the first review of SW and CHW collaboration. Clarity regarding SW and CHW roles and scopes of practice are needed to understand better SW/CHW collaboration and its impacts on community health outcomes and improve the process of collaboration. A distributed model predictive control method is used to transform the formation and maintenance problem of fixed-wing UAV formation during flight into an online rolling optimization problem to solve in this paper. Firstly, the state estimation model of the neighborhood UAV is established according to the relative information of the UAV. Secondly, the error state model in the three-dimensional inertial coordinate frame of the UAV is established without considering the time delay, sensor error, and external interference. Thirdly, a cost function is designed by introducing the error state of the UAV in the neighborhood. Objective. To explore the diagnostic value of bulbocavernosus muscle reflex and pudendal somatosensory evoked potentials for diabetic neurogenic bladder. Methods. From January 2021 to December 2021, 104 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to the hospital were recruited, with 57 allocated to the case group and 47 to the control group. Outcome measures included bulbocavernosus muscle response, pudendal somatosensory evoked potentials, and bladder residual urine volume. The connection of bulbocavernosus muscle response and pudendal somatosensory evoked potentials with bladder residual urine volume was investigated using the Pearson analysis. Results. In both males and females, the latency of the left and right bulbocavernosus muscle reflexes in the case group was longer than in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05), and the wave amplitude of the left and right bulbocavernosus muscle reflexes was significantly smaller than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The diabetic neurogenic bladder was associated with a significantly longer latency and a smaller wave amplitude of pudendal somatosensory evoked potentials versus without neurogenic bladder (P < 0.05). Patients with a diabetic neurogenic bladder had more residual bladder urine volume versus those without (P < 0.05). Bladder residual urine volume was significantly positively correlated with bulbocavernosus muscle reflex and pudendal somatosensory evoked potential latency and negatively correlated with wave amplitude (P < 0.05). Conclusion. The bulbocavernosus muscle reflex and pudendal somatosensory evoked potentials demonstrate great potential as adjuncts to diagnose diabetic neurogenic bladder and correlate with ultrasound results in determining bladder function in patients. Background: Previous studies with a limited sample size suggested more severe dopaminergic transporter (DAT) lesions in the striatum of progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) than those in Parkinson's disease (PD) and multiple system atrophy–parkinsonism (MSA‐P). However, few studies had taken various subtypes of PSP into consideration, making the reanalysis of DAT imaging in larger PSP cohort with various subtypes in need. Objectives: To compare the dopaminergic lesion patterns of PSP with MSA‐P and PD, and to explore the specific striatal subregional patterns of different PSP subtypes. Methods: 11C‐CFT positron emission tomography (PET) imaging was conducted in 83 PSP patients consisting of different subtypes, 61 patients with PD, 41 patients with MSA‐P, and 43 healthy volunteers. Demographic and clinical data were compared by the chi‐squared test or one‐way analysis of variance. A generalized linear model was used to examine intergroup differences in tracer uptake values after adjusting for age, disease duration, and disease severity. Areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve were calculated to assess the diagnostic accuracy of subregional DAT binding patterns. Results: The patients with PSP presented more severe DAT loss in the striatum than in PD and MSA‐P, especially in caudate. In PSP, the subregional lesion was still more severe in putamen than in caudate, similar to that in PD and MSA‐P. Among detailed subtypes, no significant difference was detected. Objective: Synsepalum dulcificum Daniell. (SD) is a natural plant fruit and is famous for containing miraculin. It has been reported that SD can be used as an adjuvant treatment to correct patients' loss of taste during the antitumor process, but the effect of SD itself as an antitumor is not clear. In this study, we investigated the mechanism of action of SD on lung adenocarcinoma using network pharmacology. Materials and Methods. The components of SD were identified by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, and then the compounds that affect tumor immunity of SD were screened and the related targets were predicted by TCMIO database. At the same time, the results were associated with lung adenocarcinoma targets included in the MalaCards and CTD databases, so as to construct a compound-target action network diagram and explore the mechanism of SD in the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma. In in vitro experiments, cell viability was determined and western blotting was used to detect the related expression of action targets to determine the therapeutic effect of SD. Results. In this experiment, 335 chemical components were identified in SD, and 107 components were related to tumor immunity. After screening by ADME, it was found that 11 compounds might be inhaled into the human body and affect the growth of lung adenocarcinoma. In vitro experiments showed that SD could inhibit the growth of lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells. SD could reduce the expression of PCNA (P < 0.05) and significantly increase the expression of Caspase-3 (P < 0.05). The results of further experiments showed that SD could significantly reduce the phosphorylation of EGFR (P < 0.05), and SD could also effectively inhibit the expression of JAK and STAT3 phosphorylation (P < 0.01) and inhibit the expression of PI3K and AKT phosphorylation (P < 0.01). Conclusion. SD can inhibit the growth of lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells and the potential mechanism was found to be the inhibition of EGFR/JAK/STAT3 and EGFR/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, and the substance basis for SD to exert antitumor effect may be catechin, taxifolin, betaine, epigallocatechin gallate, erucamide, guanosine, kaempferol, lanosterol, morin, oleanolic acid, and quercetin. Summary: Crack detection provides valuable information concerning the location, extent, type, and severity for structural health monitoring of civil infrastructures. Due to the influence of uneven lighting and imaging noise, as well as the debris, various textures, and materials of the different civil structure, detecting cracks in the surface images of civil infrastructures remains challenging in that there are many false positives and defragmentation of the crack curve. In this paper, an information‐based crack detection method is developed to robustly characterize and detect cracks on a curve‐by‐curve basis. Crack information gain (CIG) is defined to characterize the information of a local patch's being cracked. With the proposed model of estimating crack depth, the information‐based crack descriptor CIG is calculated by statistically modeling the probabilistic distribution of crack depth. Secondly, crack curves of different saliency are progressively detected by iteratively searching the salient string of pixels, regardless of the small gaps between fragments of the crack curve. Finally, crack curves are validated by examining the variation of CIG along the crack curve. The experimental results on a diverse set of images of different civil infrastructures demonstrate the generalizability of the proposed method, and the overall performance on each dataset outperforms the state‐of‐the‐art available methods with 2.9% improvement. The study drew attention to the therapeutic effects of cold snare polypectomy guided by a deep convolutional neural network- (CNN-) based abdominal CT and hot snare polypectomy (HSP) on colonic and rectal polyps. Specifically, 90 patients were enrolled into a blank group, a control (Ctrl) group, and an experimental group. The blank group accepted HSP, the Ctrl accepted cold snare polypectomy, and the experimental group accepted cold snare polypectomy guided by deep CNN-based CT images. It was found that the experimental group had the lowest false-positive rate (9.2%) in polyp detection in contrast with the Ctrl (21.4%) and the blank group (52.3%) P < 0.05 . The complete resection rate of large polyps in the experimental group was the highest P < 0.05 , and its operation time (2.91 ± 0.75 min) was obviously shorter versus the blank group (6.18 ± 1.19 min) P < 0.05 . In conclusion, the cold snare polypectomy under the guidance of deep CNN-based CT has a relatively high complete resection rate and detection accuracy of polyps with a low complication rate, which can be adopted clinically. Rhynchanthus beesianus is a medicinal, ornamental, and edible plant, and its essential oil has been used as an aromatic stomachic in China. In this study, the chemical constituents, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties of flower essential oil (F-EO), leaf essential oil (L-EO), and stem essential oil (S-EO) of R. beesianus were investigated for the first time. According to the GC-FID/MS assay, the F-EO was mainly composed of bornyl formate (21.7%), 1,8-cineole (21.6%), borneol (9.7%), methyleugenol (7.7%), β-myrcene (5.4%), limonene (4.7%), camphene (4.5%), linalool (3.4%), and α-pinene (3.1%). The predominant components of L-EO were bornyl formate (33.9%), borneol (13.2%), 1,8-cineole (12.1%), methyleugenol (8.0%), camphene (7.8%), bornyl acetate (6.2%), and α-pinene (4.3%). The main components of S-EO were borneol (22.5%), 1,8-cineole (21.3%), methyleugenol (14.6%), bornyl formate (11.6%), and bornyl acetate (3.9%). For the bioactivities, the F-EO, L-EO, and S-EO exhibited significant antibacterial property against Bacillus subtilis, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli with the inhibition zones (7.28–9.69 mm), MIC (3.13–12.50 mg/mL), and MBC (6.25–12.50 mg/mL). Besides, the F-EO, L-EO, and S-EO significantly inhibited the production of proinflammatory mediator nitric oxide (NO) (93.15–94.72%) and cytokines interleukin-6 (IL-6) (23.99–77.81%) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) (17.69–24.93%) in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells at the dose of 128 μg/mL in the absence of cytotoxicity. Hence, the essential oils of R. beesianus flower, leaf, and stem could be used as natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agents with a high application potential in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic fields. Apparel inventories have been crawling up for decades. The fashion level of clothing drops over time, resulting in a continuous decline in market value, a rapid reduction in demand, and unsold inventory. Poor inventory management weighs down the apparel industry. Inventory planning decisions are crucial for a fashion apparel retailer. When the good is highly perishable, the retailer may need to backlog demand in order to market the good at a reasonable price and reduce inventory costs. This study formulates a finite horizon inventory model for fashion apparel under deteriorating fashion level and partial backlogging conditions. This model jointly optimizes the selling price, length of inventory-holding period, and length of shortage period by maximizing the average profit. The conditions that characterize the optimal solution are established and an algorithm is proposed to search for the optimal solutions. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the algorithm and the solution procedure. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis of the key system parameters is carried out and some interesting managerial insights are presented. The physicochemical, scavenging, and proliferative properties of gelatin from Yak skin that was affected by an extraction and drying method were investigated. The yield of freeze‐dried enzymatic hydrolyzed gelatin (FEG) was the lowest, which had a lower oil binding capacity, water‐holding capacity, metal chelating activity (p <.05), regular molecular weight distribution, and a clearly superior ability to promote lymphatic proliferation in mice than heat‐concentrated heat‐extracted gelatin (HCG), freeze‐dried heat‐extracted gelatin (FDG), and spray‐dried heat‐extracted gelatin (SDG). HCG has compactness and no obvious pore structure, while SDG has obvious particle structure. The results showed that heat is a key factor, which could influence the physicochemical and functional properties of gelatin. Freeze‐dried enzymatic hydrolyzed gelatin is a reasonable preparation method to obtain the gelatin that with higher biological activity. Practical applications: In recent years, handling of animal discards is demanded for the underutilization of animal resources. This study aimed to compare the properties of Yak skin gelatin with different prepared methods, and provide a scientific basis for the preparation of Yak skin gelatin. Stimulated reservoir volume (SRV) which is generated by horizontal drilling with multistage hydraulic fracturing governs the production in the shale gas reservoirs. Although microseismic data has been used to estimate the SRV, it is high-priced and sometimes overestimated. Additionally, the effect of stress sensitivity on SRV is not considered in abnormal overpressure areas. Thus, the objective of this work is to characterize subsurface fracture networks with stress sensitivity of permeability through the shale gas well production data of the early flowback stage. The flowback regions are first identified with the flowback data of two shale gas wells in South China. Then, we measured the permeability stress sensitivity of the core after fracturing, coupled to the dynamic relative permeability (DRP) calculation to obtain an accurate and simple DRP curve. After that, a comprehensive model is built considering dynamic two-phase relative permeability function and stress sensitivity. Finally, we compared the calculated results with the microseismic data. The results show that the proposed model could reasonably predict the SRV using the flowback data after fracturing. Additionally, compared with the microseismic data, the stress sensitivity should be included, especially in the abnormal overpressure block. It is believed that this mathematical model is accurate and useful. The work provides an efficient approach to estimate stimulated reservoir volume in the shale gas reservoirs. Psychological factors give an important influence on the behavior of travel mode choice, but the effects vary from different cities. To identify and explain the differences, this study makes a comparative analysis between two Chinese cities, Chongqing and Chengdu: a typical mountain city and a typical plain city. The sample is obtained by questionnaires containing 401 and 450 valid records of the two cities, respectively. The model used in this study is established based on the framework of the theory of planned behavior. The main work of this study has three aspects: (1) define the measured variables based on the combination of bus travel characteristics and the theory of planned behavior; (2) verify the model validity in both two cities; (3) make a comparative analysis on the two cities. According to the results, the validity of the theory framework and measured variables is verified; the perceived behavioral control plays the most important role in affecting the behavior of traveling by bus in both two cities; significant differences between the two cities are presented and explained. An important factor in the progression of type 2 diabetes mellitus is the malfunctioning insulin production by β-cells in the pancreas. Caffeic acid dimethyl ether (CADE) reduces resistance to insulin in alcoholic fatty liver disease, but both the therapeutic effects of CADE on excessive glucose and lipid-induced insulin secretion disorders and the underlying mechanisms are unknown. The aim of this research was to (i) explore how CADE impacts insulin production issues caused by a surplus of glucose and lipids β-cells and (ii) elucidate the underlying mechanism. The results of our research demonstrated that insulin production was reduced in the pancreas of mice given a high-fat -diet and streptozotocin, as well as in human 1.1B4 pancreatic β-cells treated with high -glucose and high -fat, with increased activity of miR-378b and decreased expression levels of p110α, p-AKT1/2, insulin receptor, p-FoxO1, and PDX-1. However, treatment with CADE ameliorated the insulin secretion impairment by decreasing the miR-378b level and reversing the inhibitory effects on the aforementioned factors. Overexpression of miR-378b exacerbated the insulin secretion disorder and inhibited the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway, whereas miR-378b deficiency relieved the insulin secretion disorder, activating the PI3K-AKT pathway. In addition, CADE ameliorated the impairment of insulin secretion and reversed the miR-378b overexpression-induced PI3K-AKT pathway inhibition. In conclusion, our study demonstrates that CADE ameliorated insulin secretion dysfunction induced by excess lipid and glucose in β-cells by downregulating miR-378b expression, thus promoting PI3K-AKT activation. Purpose. To evaluate the effect of laser refractive surgery on sensory eye dominance of anisometropia. Methods. A total of 156 subjects with nonanisometropic myopia and 70 subjects with anisometropic myopia were enrolled in the first part of the study. The dichoptic motion coherence threshold technique was applied to collect the normal dataset and distribution of sensory eye dominance. The second part of the study included 40 subjects with nonanisometropic myopia and 40 subjects with anisometropic myopia who received the femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (Fs-LASIK). A comprehensive ophthalmologic evaluation was performed with particular attention to sensory eye dominance preoperatively and one-week and one-month postoperatively. The ocular dominance index (ODI) was applied to evaluate the subject's overall degree of sensory ocular dominance. Visual acuity, sighting eye dominance, and stereo acuity were also accessed. Results. In experiment one, the mean ODI in the nonanisometropic group and the anisometropic group was 1.48 ± 0.63 and 1.95 ± 1.07, respectively. The ODI values of the anisometropic group were significantly higher than those of the nonanisometropic group (Mann–Whitney U test, P < 0.001). The demographics information and the distribution of ODI values in both groups are summarized in tables and figures. In experiment two, all LASIK procedures were uneventful and no postoperative complications were observed during the postoperative follow-up. Preoperatively, the ODI values of the anisometropic LASIK group were significantly higher than those of the nonanisometropic LASIK group, which was consistent with the results of part 1. However, one week after operation, the mean ODI values of the anisometropic LASIK group had significantly decreased from 1.89 ± 1.09 to 1.39 ± 0.44. And, the mean ODI values slightly increased to 1.65 ± 0.61 one-month postoperatively. In the nonanisometropic LASIK group, there were no statistically significant differences of ODI changes among preoperative, post-one-week and post-one-month visits. The demographics information and the changes of ODI of both LASIK groups are summarized in tables and figures. Conclusion. Stronger sensory eye dominance is seen in the subjects with anisometropic myopia compared to subjects with nonanisometropic myopia. The strong sensory dominance of anisometropia becomes more balanced at one week of postoperation but returns to the preoperative level after one month. Summary: Pure Na0.23TiO2 nanofibers were fabricated by a two‐step hydrothermal method after a series of experiments. Na0.23TiO2 is a direct bandgap semiconductor and exhibits a strong photodegradative ability for RhB, which is difficult to be degraded. The photodegradative activity is much enhanced after loaded noble metal Au or Ag nanoparticles on Na0.23TiO2 nanofibers by a chemical bath deposition method. Hot electrons are generated in metal nanoparticles through a localized surface plasmon (LSP) process under light illumination and then diffuse to a semiconductor and reduce the surface potential, which is detected directly by a scanning Kelvin probe microscopy (SKPM). The high electromagnetic field induced by the LSP resonance and strong coupling between noble metal and Na0.23TiO2 are beneficial for the utilization of visible light, electron produce, charge transportation, and separation, as a result, promoting the activity of semiconductor‐based photocatalysts. Transcription factor activating enhancer binding protein 4 (TFAP4) is established as a regulator of human cancer genesis and progression. Overexpression of TFAP4 indicates poor prognosis in various malignancies. The current study was performed to quantify TFAP4 expression as well as to further determine its potential prognostic value and functional role in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We identified that the expression of TFAP4 mRNA in 369 tumor tissues was higher than that in 160 normal liver tissues. Upregulated TFAP4 expressions were discovered in HCC cell lines compared to the healthy liver cell line, and similarly, the levels of TFAP4 were higher in tumor tissues than its expression in paratumor tissues. High mRNA and protein expression of TFAP4 was associated with worse overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS). Additionally, TFAP4 expression emerged as a risk factor independently affecting both OS and DFS of HCC patients. Functional studies demonstrated that TFAP4 increased HCC cell migration and invasion. Further investigations found that TFAP4 promotes invasion and metastasis by inducing epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and regulating MMP-9 expression via activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in HCC. In conclusion, our study demonstrated that TFAP4 is a valuable prognostic biomarker in determining the likelihood of tumor metastasis and recurrence, as well as the long-term survival rates of HCC patients. Vitreous anteroposterior traction is an important factor that affects macular hole (MH) formation at the early stage, and vitreous tangential traction can lead to further hole expansion after hole formation. Recent studies have highlighted the significance of Müller cells for the pathogenesis of MH. Since the advent of MH treatment, success rates for MH closure have significantly improved, as has postoperative visual acuity. However, metamorphopsia, an initial and common symptom of MH, still exists. Metamorphopsia is significantly related to the deterioration of visual quality of life and can be used as an independent index to evaluate visual function before and after surgery. In MH patients, metamorphopsia has different manifestations representing different clinical implications. M-CHARTS, as a new means of inspection, can quantify the degrees of metamorphopsia, and with the development of optical coherence tomography (OCT), layer-by-layer scanning of the retinal structure has become possible. These methods enable detailed analysis of the connections between the degree of metamorphopsia and relevant OCT parameters. Preoperative OCT parameters can be used to evaluate the prognosis of the postoperative visual function of MH patients and are therefore of great significance in guiding the treatment of MH patients. Background. Remnant gastric cancer (RGC) is a rare malignant tumor with poor prognosis. There is no universally accepted prognostic model for RGC. Methods. We analyzed data for 253 RGC patients who underwent radical gastrectomy from 6 centers. The prognosis prediction performances of the AJCC7th and AJCC8th TNM staging systems and the TRM staging system for RGC patients were evaluated. Web-based prediction models based on independent prognostic factors were developed to predict the survival of the RGC patients. External validation was performed using a cohort of 49 Chinese patients. Results. The predictive abilities of the AJCC8th and TRM staging systems were no better than those of the AJCC7th staging system (c-index: AJCC7th vs. AJCC8th vs. TRM, 0.743 vs. 0.732 vs. 0.744; P>0.05). Within each staging system, the survival of the two adjacent stages was not well discriminated (P>0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that age, tumor size, T stage, and N stage were independent prognostic factors. Based on the above variables, we developed 3 web-based prediction models, which were superior to the AJCC7th staging system in their discriminatory ability (c-index), predictive homogeneity (likelihood ratio chi-square), predictive accuracy (AIC, BIC), and model stability (time-dependent ROC curves). External validation showed predictable accuracies of 0.780, 0.822, and 0.700, respectively, in predicting overall survival, disease-specific survival, and disease-free survival. Conclusions. The AJCC TNM staging system and the TRM staging system did not enable good distinction among the RGC patients. An indirect Gauss pseudospectral method based path-following guidance law is presented in this paper. A virtual target moving along the desired path with explicitly specified speed is introduced to formulate the guidance problem. By establishing a virtual target-fixed coordinate system, the path-following guidance is transformed into a terminal guidance with impact angle constraints, which is then solved by using indirect Gauss pseudospectral method. Meanwhile, the acceleration dynamics are modeled as the first-order lag to the command. Using the receding horizon technique a closed-loop guidance law, which considers generalized weighting functions (even discontinuous) of both the states and the control cost, is derived. The accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed guidance law are validated by numerical comparisons. A STM32 Nucleo board based on the ARM Cortex-M7 processor is used to evaluate the real-time computational performance of the proposed indirect Gauss pseudospectral method. Simulations for various types of desired paths are presented to show that the proposed guidance law has better performance when compared with the existing results for pure pursuit, a nonlinear guidance law, and trajectory shaping path-following guidance and provides more degrees of freedom in path-following guidance design applications. The second member of Jialingjiang formation is considered to be an important gas reservoir with good exploration prospects in the southern Puguang gasfield. The diagenesis types are analyzed and different diagenetic stages are divided by analyzing carbon and oxygen isotopes as well as observing the slices. The widespread forms of diagenesis in the research area principally include compaction, cementation, pressure solution, dolomitization, recrystallization, dissolution, and tectonic disruption, among which cementation, dissolution, dolomitization, and recrystallization contribute greatly to the development of porosity in the reservoir. The reservoir has experienced four diagenetic stages: syndiagenetic stage, early stage of diagenesis, diagenetic stage, and late diagenetic stage. Purpose. To evaluate the predictability of lens shift induced by pilocarpine (LSPilo) on the outcomes of accommodating intraocular lens (Acc-IOL) implantation. Methods. Twenty-four eyes of 24 senile cataract patients who underwent phacoemulsification and Acc-IOL implantation were enrolled. LSPilo was evaluated with anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT). At 3 months postoperatively, the best corrected distance visual acuities (BCDVA), distance-corrected near visual acuities (DCNVA), and subjective and objective accommodations were measured. IOL shifts under accommodation stimulus (IOLSAcc) were evaluated with AS-OCT. Results. The mean LSPilo was 112.29 ± 30.72 µm. LSPilo was not associated with any preoperative parameters. The mean IOLSAcc was 130.46 ± 42.71 µm. The mean subjective and objective accommodation were 1.54 ± 0.39 D and 1.27 ± 0.41 D, respectively. The mean postoperative BCDVA and DCNVA (log MAR value) were 0.22 ± 0.11 and 0.24 ± 0.12, respectively. LSPilo positively correlated with IOLSAcc (r=0.541; P=0.006), subjective accommodation (r=0.412; P=0.022), and objective accommodation (r=0.466; P=0.045), respectively. Conclusion. LSPilo is an independent preoperative parameter associated with the postoperative Acc-IOL mobility and pseudophakic accommodation. Studies of rock stress sensitivity are mainly focused on experimental and data processing methods, and the mechanism cannot be adequately explained using specific pore shape models. This study, based on a random pore network simulation, explains the rock stress sensitivity mechanism for the first time. Based on the network model theory, the hydraulic conductivity equation, the dimensionless radius equation, and the effective stress equation for partially saturated rock are used to generate a three-dimensional random pore network model based on the QT platform. The simulation results show that the influence of the effective stress on the dimensionless radius becomes more significant as the aspect ratio decreases, and the relationship between dimensionless radius and effective stress can be effectively interpreted through different combinations of pore shapes. Fuzheng-Huayu (FZHY) tablet was formulated based on Chinese medicine theory in treating liver fibrosis. A clinical trial has indicated that FZHY can against hepatitis B-caused liver cirrhosis (HBC), but the underlying mechanism of FZHY efficacy is unclear. Here, we report that miRNA expression levels are remarkably changed when FZHY formula was used in HBC patient’s treatment as a paradigm of trials. Then, we functionally characterize the significant impact of potential kernel miRNAs by miRNA-target network analysis. Enrichment analysis show that the FZHY formula dramatically effecting the molecular regulated module in HBC. The Fuzheng Huayu (FZHY) formula is being used in antiliver fibrosis treatment in China. For systemic evaluation of the curative effects of FZHY on liver fibrosis and cirrhosis progress, a total of 1392 subjects (714 cases and 678 controls) were found to be eligible for meta-analysis in this study. Standard mean differences (SMDs) with 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated for changes between FZHY groups and controls by employing fixed effects or random effects model. In the overall analysis, alanine transaminase (ALT) (P=0.003, SMD = −0.87, 95% CI: −1.46 to −0.29), total bilirubin (TBil) (P=0.001, SMD = −1.30, 95% CI: −2.10 to −0.50), hyaluronic acid (HA) (P=0.000, SMD = −0.94, 95% CI: −1.30 to −0.58), laminin (LN) (P=0.000, SMD = −0.80, 95% CI: −1.20 to −0.41), type III procollagen (PC-III) (P=0.000, SMD = −1.27, 95% CI: −1.93 to −0.60), and type IV procollagen (IV-C) (P=0.000, SMD = −0.78, 95% CI: −1.05 to −0.51) were decreased after FZHY treatment; however, albumin (ALB) was increased (P=0.037, SMD = 1.10, 95% CI: 0.07 to 2.12) significantly. Furthermore, the Child-Pugh score was reduced significantly and the life quality was improved after FZHY treatment in cirrhosis patients. The results of this meta-analysis indicated that FZHY effectively improves the liver function, alleviates hepatic fibrosis, decreases Child-Pugh score, and relieves TCM symptoms caused by liver dysfunction, indicating that FZHY may contribute to the alleviation of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. Radix Paeoniae Alba (Baishao, RPA) has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine formulation to treat hypertension by repression the hyperfunction of liver. However, whether the RPA itself has the antihypertensive effect or not is seldom studied. This study was to evaluate the protective effect of RPA on hypertensive rats. Alcohol in conjunction with a high fat diet- (ACHFD-) induced hypertensive rats and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) was constantly received either RPA extract (25 or 75 mg/kg) or captopril (15 mg/kg) all along the experiments. As a result, RPA extract (75 mg/kg) could significantly reduce systolic blood pressure of both ACHFD-induced hypertensive rats and SHR after 9-week or 4-week treatment. In ACHFD-induced hypertensive rats, the blood pressure was significantly increased and the lipid profiles in serum including triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and HDL-cholesterol were significantly deteriorated. Also, hepatic damage was manifested by a significant increase in alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST) in serum. The RPA extract significantly reversed these parameters, which revealed that it could alleviate the liver damage of rats. Objective. To investigate the effects of Toll-like receptors in stem cell osteogenesis. Methods. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) were divided into the blank group, the TLR-3 activated group, and the TLR-4 activated group. After 10 days' osteogenic-promoting culture, expression of type I collagen and osteocalcin was determined by Western blot. Osteoblasts (OBs) were also divided into three groups mentioned above. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and alizarin red staining were performed after 10 days' ossification-inducing culture. The expression of β-catenin was investigated by Western blot. Results. Both the TLR-3 and TLR-4 activated groups had increased expression of type I collagen and osteocalcin; the effect of TLR-4 was stronger. The intensity of alizarin red and ALP staining was strongest in the TLR-3 activated group and weakest in the TLR-4 activated group. Activation of TLR-4 decreased the expression of β-catenin, whilst activation of TLR-3 did not affect the expression of β-catenin. Discussion. This study suggested that both TLR-3 and -4 promoted differentiation of BMSCs to OBs. TLR-3 had an inducing effect on the ossification of OBs to osteocytes, whilst the effect of TLR-4 was the opposite because of its inhibitory effect on the Wnt signaling pathway. What is known and Objectives The serotoninergic receptor 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor 3 ( HTR3) is instrumental in the regulation of nausea and emesis (vomiting).This study investigated whether common genomic variations of the A and B subunits of HTR3 ( HTR3A, HTR3B) are associated with the incidence of post-operative vomiting in a Chinese Han population. Methods Two hundred and thirty-one female Chinese Han patients undergoing gynaecological surgery with standardized general anaesthesia were recruited for the study. Clinical symptoms after surgery were recorded and direct DNA sequencing was performed to detect polymorphisms of HTR3A and HTR3B. Results Five single nucleotide polymorphisms ( SNPs) in HTR3A and HTR3B were found, with R2 > 0·8 and minor allele frequency > 10%. One of these (rs3758987 in HTR3B) was statistically associated with vomiting, after adjusting for body weight, body mass index and duration of general anaesthesia in dominant and additive models ( P = 0·047 and P = 0·034). Objective. To explore the mechanism of action of the yin nourishing and heat clearing prescription in treating cough variant asthma (CVA) based on network pharmacology (NP). Methods. The active ingredients and targets of the yin nourishing and heat clearing prescription were screened using the Traditional Chinese Medicine System Pharmacology Analysis Platform (TCMSP); CVA targets were screened by the GeneCards, NCBI gene, and OMIM databases to construct the component-target network and the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network. GO functional enrichment analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis of the target genes were performed to construct the component-disease-pathway-target biological network. Moreover, CVA-related core target structures with high values were subjected to molecular docking (MD) with the active components. Results. We found 265 eligible targets in the prescription and 1115 CVA-related genes. The medicine targets were intersected with disease targets, which yielded 148 common targets. After topology analysis, 66 key targets were screened. Upon GO functional annotation, 2408 biological processes, 153 molecular functions, and 162 KEGG pathways were enriched. Molecular docking results suggested that the major active ingredients of the prescription showed high affinity to the key targets, among which AKT1 might be the most important target. Conclusions. Active ingredients might act on AKT1, IL-6, VEGFA, IL-1B, and JUN to suppress eosinophil accumulation, decrease histamine release, suppress airway inflammation, regulate the airway immune microenvironment, increase autophagy in lung tissue, inhibit mucus production, and reduce airway resistance and hyperresponsiveness, thus treating CVA. In order to meet the needs of nuclear power safety-level digital control system (DCS), like designing verification, operator training, and accidental drills, for the SVDU in the NASPIC platform developed independently by China National Nuclear Corporation, a virtual embedded system technology based on the micro x86 industrial host is proposed to make software simulation to the SVDU physical controller with exactly the same hardware appearance of the original one. The SVDU stimulator realized by this research can achieve 100% simulation of the logical functions of the SVDU physical equipment and the synchronized upgrading function between stimulator and the real equipment. Background. Keratin 23 (KRT23) is a new member of the KRT gene family and known to be involved in the development and migration of various types of tumors. However, the role of KRT23 in ovarian cancer (OC) remains unclear. This study is aimed at investigating the function of KRT23 in OC. Methods. The expression of KRT23 in normal ovarian and OC tissues was determined using the Oncomine database and immunohistochemical staining. Reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction assay was used to analyze the expression of KRT23 in normal ovarian epithelial cell lines and OC cell lines. Small interfering RNA (siRNA), wound healing assay, and transwell assay were conducted to detect the effects of KRT23 on OC cell migration and invasion. Further mechanistic studies were verified by the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis platform, Western blotting, and immunofluorescence staining. Results. KRT23 was highly expressed in OC tissues and cell lines. High KRT23 expression could regulate OC cell migration and invasion, and the reduction of KRT23 by siRNA inhibited the migration and invasion of OC cells in vitro. Furthermore, KRT23 mediated epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) by regulating p-Smad2/3 levels in the TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway. Conclusions. Modern lifestyle-associated factors, such as high-calorie intake, high-fat diet (HFD), and excessive artificial light, are risk factors for glucose and lipid metabolism disturbances. Melatonin may be beneficial for managing obesity and diabetes; however, the underlying molecular mechanisms are not well elucidated. We aimed to assess whether melatonin has beneficial effects on constant artificial light-induced fat deposition, lipid metabolism, and insulin resistance. Guinea pigs were randomly divided into five experimental groups: control (C), HFD (H), 12 h light (12HL), 24 h light (24HL), and melatonin (M). The majority of indexes, including insulin resistance and obesity, were measured after 10 weeks. AMP-activated protein kinase α (AMPKα)/peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-α (PPARα) pathway expression was analyzed by quantitative reverse transcription PCR and western blotting. Although insulin resistance and obesity indexes were higher in the 24HL group than in the 12HL group, they were significantly lower in the M group than in the 24HL group. Melatonin treatment markedly upregulated AMPKα, phosphorylated AMPKα (p-AMPKα), PPARα, and carnitine palmitoyl-CoA transferase 1 A (CPT1A) gene and protein expression. Melatonin may alleviate insulin resistance and obesity caused by persistent artificial light exposure in guinea pigs, likely via activation of the AMPKα/PPARα signaling pathway. Background. Critically ill patients can benefit from enteral nutrition with postpyloric feeding tubes, but the low success rate limits its wide use. Erythromycin could elevate the success rate of tube insertion, but its clinical efficiency still remains controversial. Methods. Included studies must be RCTs which assessed the success rate of postpyloric feeding tube insertion using erythromycin. Results. 284 patients were enrolled in six studies. Meta-analysis showed that erythromycin significantly increases the rate of successful postpyloric feeding tube placement (RR 1.45, 95% CI (1.12, 1.86)) and did not increase the risk of adverse effects (RR 2.15, 95% CI (0.20, 22.82)). Subgroup analysis showed that unweighted feeding tubes (RR 1.47, 95% CI (1.03, 2.11)) could significantly increase the success rate. Country of study, intravenous route of erythromycin, and year of participant enrollment did not influence these results. Conclusions. Erythromycin significantly increases the success rate of postpyloric feeding tube placement. Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a serious disorder of the central nervous system with a high disability rate. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are reported to mediate many biological processes. The aim of this study was to explore lncRNA and mRNA expression profiles and functional networks after SCI. Differentially expressed genes between SCI model rats and sham controls were identified by microarray assays and analyzed by functional enrichment. Key lncRNAs were identified using a support vector machine- (SVM-) recursive feature elimination (RFE) algorithm. A trans and cis regulation model was used to analyze the regulatory relationships between lncRNAs and their targets. An lncRNA-related ceRNA network was established. We identified 5465 differentially expressed lncRNAs (DE lncRNAs) and 8366 differentially expressed mRNAs (DE mRNAs) in the SCI group compared with the sham group (fold change > 2.0 , p < 0.05). Four genes were confirmed by qRT-PCR which were consistent with the microarray data. GSEA analysis showed that most marked changes occurred in pathways related to immune inflammation and nerve cell function, including cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction, and GABAergic synapse. Enrichment analysis identified 30 signaling pathways, including those associated with immune inflammation response. A total of 40 key lncRNAs were identified using the SVM-RFE algorithm. A key lncRNA-mRNAs coexpression network was generated for 230 951 lncRNA-mRNA pairs with half showing positive correlations. Several key DE lncRNAs were predicted to have "cis"- or "trans"-regulated target genes. The transcription factors, Sp1, JUN, and SOX10, may regulate the interaction between XR_001837123.1 and ETS 1. In addition, five pairs of ceRNA regulatory sequences were constructed. Many mRNAs and lncRNAs were found to be dysregulated after SCI. Bioinformatic analysis showed that DE lncRNAs may play crucial roles in SCI. As cancer with the highest morbidity and mortality in the world, lung cancer is characterized by pulmonary nodules in the early stage. The detection of pulmonary nodules is an important method for the early detection of lung cancer, which can greatly improve the survival rate of lung cancer patients. However, the accuracy of conventional detection methods for lung nodules is low. With the development of medical imaging technology, deep learning plays an increasingly important role in medical image detection, and pulmonary nodules can be accurately detected by CT images. Based on the above, a pulmonary nodule detection method based on deep learning is proposed. In the candidate nodule detection stage, the multiscale features and Faster R-CNN, a general-purpose detection framework based on deep learning, were combined together to improve the detection of small-sized lung nodules. In the false-positive nodule filtration stage, a 3D convolutional neural network based on multiscale fusion is designed to reduce false-positive nodules. The experiment results show that the candidate nodule detection model based on Faster R-CNN integrating multiscale features has achieved a sensitivity of 98.6%, 10% higher than that of the other single-scale model, the proposed method achieved a sensitivity of 90.5% at the level of 4 false-positive nodules per scan, and the CPM score reached 0.829. The results are higher than methods in other works of literature. It can be seen that the detection method of pulmonary nodules based on multiscale fusion has a higher detection rate for small nodules and improves the classification performance of true and false-positive pulmonary nodules. Concentrating on the two‐pin electric explosive devices (EEDs), this paper proposes a coupling model of a V‐type antenna according to the typical scenario that the pin wire can present a certain angle. Based on theoretical analysis, numerical simulations are performed to obtain the different angles of antenna patterns, the changes of the reflection coefficients, the gain of coupling current, and the influence law of coupling energy, which are verified by experimental measurements. The results show that the coupling current and energy increase rapidly with the increase of the angle when the included angle between the two‐pin wires exceeds 60°. When the angle reaches 90°, the coupling energy would increase to tens of μJ, which will bring certain safety risks. When the included angle rises to 180°, the coupling energy will reach the peak. Traditional manual inspection of small objects such as ferrite shield surface defects through naked eyes is labour-intensive and inefficient, especially existed false and missed inspection. To improve the defect detection rate and efficiency, a novel inspection method based on an improved Faster R-CNN is proposed aiming at weak feature information, small object, and diverse shapes of the defective target. This paper takes cracks, pits, impurities, and dirty defects existing on the surface of the ferrite shield as examples to verify this method. Firstly, the bidirectional feature fusion network with ResNet-50 is added to the original Faster R-CNN to obtain feature maps, which contain strong semantic information and rich location information of the defects. Then, k-means clustering with genetic algorithm is adopted for generating adaptive anchor boxes to match defects of various shapes in the region proposal network (RPN) stage. Then, the region of interest (ROI) Align instead of the ROI Pooling is introduced to eliminate the candidate frame position bias and improve the defect localization accuracy. Finally, Soft nonmaximum suppression (NMS) is used to reduce the probability of defective targets. The mean average precision (mAP) of the applied method for detecting surface defects of ferrite shields is 81.0% which is higher than the commonly used detectors such as SSD, YOLO, Retina-Net, and Cascade RCNN. The study can provide a new detection mean to obtain the detection capability and accuracy of ferrite shields and lay a solid foundation for automated detection of small objects. In order to guarantee perpendicularity of rotary cast-in-place pile in Karst areas, filling, like sand, etc., is commonly used between the inner steel casing and the outer steel sleeve; while the outer steel sleeve is pulled out or a vertical load is applied on the top of the pile, the sand will move, contact, and push against each other, which leads to recrushing; therefore, shear characteristics and secondary breakage are a meaningful problem to study with regard to the influence of different sand densities. Through experimental direct shear tests, with different dry densities, shear stress versus shear displacement curves are obtained and internal friction angles are analyzed. The results show that internal friction angles increase along with increment of dry densities; more interesting is that the secondary breakage ratio also increases. A comparative numerical 2D model is set up using PFC2D, with lower porosity used to simulate a large dry density, and similar results are obtained, that is to say, with increase of dry densities, internal friction angles also increase. Our research aims at the analysis of various stone scoring systems which are referred to as STONE scoring system (SSS) in this study. The data of 68 patients with renal calculi who received FURL in Ren Ji Hospital from Jan 2020 to Mar 2021 are collected as the study subjects. There were 44 male and 24 female patients, with an average age of 55.6 ± 11.4 years. Reliability analysis of related influencing factors (IF) of stone clearance rate (SCR) and multiple scoring systems after flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy (FURL) was performed. Relevant factors with statistical significance for postoperative SCR were selected for logistic regression analysis (RA). According to the SSS score, GSS classification, and RUSS score, the SCR after FURL was statistically analyzed. The results showed that the P values corresponding to stone position (lower caliceal), cumulative stone diameter (CSD), urinary tract infection, and external physical vibration lithecbole (EPVL) were less than 0.05. The area under the ROC curve of RUSS score, SSS score, and GSS grading was 0.932, 0.841, and 0.533, respectively. The main IF of SCR after FURL were stone location (lower caliceal), CSD, urinary tract infection, and EPVL. The RUSS score system was the best in the evaluation of SCR after FURL. In the previous research, the score systems such as CROES (CRS), SSS, S-ReS, C, and GSS for the prediction of SFS were compared. In our analysis, we have compared the RUSS scoring system which has proven to be giving better results as compared to SSS and GSS. The aim was to study the effect of 17α‐ethynylestradiol (EE2) on osmoregulation of fish, adult zebrafish (Danio rerio) were exposed to 10 ng/L and 100 ng/L of EE2 for 7 days. After exposure, EE2 induced body oedema, trichangiectasis in the skin and protrusion of the proptosis and significantly elevated the condition factor, water weight and water content, decreased the RBC count and HCT of the fish. In addition, various histopathological damages in the gill and kidney were observed. We therefore speculate that EE2 exposure may disrupt water homeostasis in zebrafish. Further research found that the mRNA levels of crh, crhr and acth were remarkably down‐regulated in the brain, in accordance with the decreased level of plasma cortisol. Moreover, remarkably increased aqp3a and aqp1a1 mRNA levels in the gill were observed, suggesting elevated water intake in the gill. Meanwhile, decreased expression of atp1a1a.1 and the activity of Na+, K+‐ATPase in the gill, which might have resulted from lower plasma cortisol levels, were also present, in consistence with the lesions of histocyte. Moreover, suppressed expression of atp1a1a.4 and the activity of Na+, K+‐ATPase in the kidney were probably resulted from decreased plasma cortisol levels and low expression of avp in the brain. Objective. This study is aimed at analyzing the factors affecting the recurrence patterns and recurrence-free survival (RFS) of high-grade gliomas (HGG). Methods. Eligible patients admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University were selected. Subsequently, the effects of some clinical data including age, gender, WHO pathological grades, tumor site, tumor size, clinical treatments, and peritumoral edema (PTE) area and molecular markers (Ki-67, MGMT, IDH-1, and p53) on HGG patients' recurrence patterns and RFS were analyzed. Results. A total number of 77 patients were enrolled into this study. After analyzing all the cases, it was determined that tumor size and tumor site had a significant influence on the recurrent patterns of HGG, and PTE was an independent predict factor of recurrence patterns. Specifically, when the PTE was mild (<1 cm), the recurrence pattern tended to be local; in contrast, HGG was more likely to progress to marginal recurrence and distant recurrence. Furthermore, age and PTE were significantly associated with RFS; the median RFS of the population with PTE < 1 cm (23.60 months) was obviously longer than the population with PTE ≥ 1 cm (5.00 months). Conclusions. PTE is an independent predictor of recurrence patterns and RFS for HGG. Therefore, preoperative identification of PTE in HGG patients is crucially important, which is helpful to accurately estimate the recurrence pattern and RFS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: Larger‐diameter open‐ended pipe piles are widely used as foundation for offshore structures. The lack of high‐quality inner wall axial stress measurement results in difficulties in loading analysis of open‐ended pipe piles during penetration and service period due to the effect of soil plugging. In this paper, two groups of model tests to assess the feasibility of bare fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing technology in monitoring the inner wall axial stress profile of open‐ended aluminous pipe piles during penetration and horizontal loading are presented. One open‐ended aluminous pipe pile was instrumented with bare FBG sensors and then penetrated into the sand bed with the rate of 20 and 30 mm/min, respectively. Two horizontal static loading tests were also conducted after 24‐h penetration. The installation process of bare FBG sensors along open‐ended aluminous pipe pile is introduced. The distribution profiles of axial stress and unit shaft resistance on inner wall and outer wall along model pile is discussed in detail. Model test results indicated that the bare FBG sensing technology was feasible to measure the axial stress of inner wall along open‐ended pipe piles during penetration and horizontal loading in sand. During horizontal loading, the average values of qso/qsi are 0.717 and 0.727, respectively, for model pile with penetration rate of 20 and 30 mm/min. The axial stress difference of inner wall and outer wall along model pile in penetration and horizontal loading is the result of a combination of the inside and outside soil friction as well as of the pipe in‐wall shear stiffness. Objectives. Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common endocrine system malignant thyroid cancer, and patients with lymph node metastasis typically exhibit poor prognosis. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) can act as either oncogenes or tumor suppressors in PTC. This study was aimed at using PTC transcriptome data obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) to identify differentially expressed, survival-related miRNAs and target genes. Methods. We analyzed the TCGA datasets to identify differentially expressed mRNAs/miRNAs in 493 PTC patients with stage I_II group (stages I and II) versus stage III_IV group (stages III and IV) according to TNM staging. The Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, the Cox regression analysis, and the log-rank test were performed to investigate survival-related miRNAs. Results. We identified 36 significantly differentially expressed miRNAs in the stage I_II group versus the stage III_IV group, in which 31 were upregulated and only 5 were downregulated (i.e., hsa-miR-891a-5p, hsa-miR-892a, hsa-miR-888-5p, hsa-miR-891b, and hsa-miR-892b). Additionally, five signature miRNAs (hsa-miR-206, hsa-miR-299-3p, hsa-miR-299-5p, hsa-miR-496, and hsa-miR-509-3-5p) were associated with the overall survival of PTC patients. We also found that LMX1B, whose expression was inversely correlated with hsa-miR-206 expression, was a putative target gene of hsa-miR-206 and LMX1B was likely to serve as a tumor suppressor in PTC. Immunosenescence refers to the immune system undergoing a series of degenerative changes with advancing age and is tightly associated with the initiation and progression of cancers. However, the immunosenescence-related genes as critical biomarkers for bladder cancer (BLCA) have not been systematically analyzed. We retrieved the immunosenescence-related genes from the public database and verified their association with hallmarks of immunosenescence based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) cohort. Through gene pairing, Lasso, and univariate Cox regression, an 8-gene pair model was constructed to evaluate the overall survival of BLCA, which was then validated in the training cohort (P < 0.001 , n = 396), two external validation cohorts (P < 0.05 , n = 165 ; P < 0.001 , n = 224), and local samples (P < 0.05 , n = 10). We also downloaded the clinical information and gene expression matrices of other 32 different cancers from TCGA. The established model showed significant predictive value for the prognosis in 15 cancers (P < 0.05). The risk model could also serve as a promising predictor for immunotherapeutic response, which has been verified by the TIDE algorithm (P < 0.05), IMvigor210 dataset (P < 0.01 , n = 298), and other two datasets correlated with immunotherapy (P < 0.05 , n = 56 ; P = 0.17 , n = 27). The TCGA dataset, in vitro cell experiments, and pan-cancer analysis displayed that the gene signature was associated with cisplatin sensitivity (P < 0.05). Overall, we proposed a novel immunosenescence-related gene signature to predict prognosis, immunotherapeutic response, and cisplatin sensitivity of BLCA, which were validated in different independent cohorts, local samples, and pan-cancer analyses. Enterogenous infection is a major cause of death during traumatic hemorrhagic shock (THS). It has been reported that Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5) plays an integral role in regulating mucosal immunity and intestinal homeostasis of the microbiota. However, the roles played by TLR5 on intestinal barrier maintenance and commensal bacterial translocation post-THS are poorly understood. In this research, we established THS models in wild-type (WT) and Tlr5-/- (genetically deficient in TLR5 expression) mice. We found that THS promoted bacterial translocation, while TLR5 deficiency played a protective role in preventing commensal bacteria dissemination after THS. Furthermore, intestinal microbiota analysis uncovered that TLR5 deficiency enhanced the mucosal biological barrier by decreasing RegIIIγ-mediated bactericidal activity against G+ anaerobic bacteria. We then sorted small intestinal TLR5+ lamina propria dendritic cells (LPDCs) and analyzed TH1 differentiation in the intestinal lamina propria and a coculture system consisting of LPDCs and naïve T cells. Although TLR5 deficiency attenuated the regulation of TH1 polarization by LPDCs, it conferred stability to the cells during THS. Moreover, retinoic acid (RA) released from TLR5+ LPDCs could play a key role in modulating TH1 polarization. We also found that gavage administration of RA alleviated bacterial translocation in THS-treated WT mice. In summary, we documented that TLR5 signaling plays a pivotal role in regulating RegIIIγ-induced killing of G+ anaerobic bacteria, and LPDCs mediated TH1 differentiation via RA. These processes prevent intestinal bacterial translocation and enterogenous infection after THS, suggesting that therapeutically targeting LPDCs or gut microbiota can interfere with bacterial translocation after THS. Background. Adjuvant chemotherapy with CapeOX regimen is widely used in resected rectal cancer, which brings benefits to patients. But drug-related toxicities are severe during this process; thus, survival outcomes may potentially be affected. This study explored the efficacy of two Chinese herbal injections, Aidi injection (ADI) and Brucea javanica oil emulsion injection (BJOEI), as adjuvant drugs in CapeOX adjuvant chemotherapy on rectal cancer patients. Methods. A total of 240 cases were enrolled in this retrospective study. 80 cases received CapeOX with ADI (the ADI group), 80 cases received CapeOX with BJOEI (the BJOEI group), and the rest 80 cases received CapeOX alone (the control group). After four cycles' chemotherapy, adverse reactions (ADRs) and quality of life (QOL) were analyzed. Then, patients received follow-up for at least one year, and the endpoint was disease-free survival (DFS). Results. All patients completed at least four cycles' adjuvant chemotherapy. The incidence of leukopenia and thrombocytopenia was significantly lower in the ADI group; the incidence of nausea was significantly lower in the BJOEI group; the incidence of hand-foot syndrome was significantly lower in both the ADI group and BJOEI group. Significant difference was found in the control group regarding the Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) scores prior and posttreatment. No difference was found among three groups regarding one-year DFS. Conclusion. As adjuvant drugs for rectal cancer during CapeOX chemotherapy, ADI shows advantages in decreasing leukopenia and thrombocytopenia, while BJOEI results better in remitting nausea. To explore the clinical significance of the perioperative counts of circulating tumor cells (CTCs), mesenchymal CTCs (MCTCs), and CTC- white blood cells (WBCs) in renal cell carcinoma patients. A total of 131 patients with renal cancer who underwent operation excision from our hospital were enrolled. In addition, 20 patients with benign renal diseases were recruited as a control. Blood samples were collected from the 131 patients, before operation and 3 months after surgery. Samples were also obtained simultaneously from the control group. CanPatrol CTC detection technique was used to enrich and identify CTCs, MCTCs, and CTC-WBCs. All enrolled patients were T1-3N0M0. From these, 52 patients with renal cancer underwent radical resection, while other 79 patients underwent nephron-sparing surgery. The positive rate of CTC, MCTC, and CTC-WBC before surgery were 95.4% (125/131), 61.1% (80/131), and 11.5% (15/131), respectively. Preoperative total CTCs, MCTCs, or CTC-WBCs were poorly correlated with patients' parameters. Preoperative CTC, MCTC, or CTC-WBC showed no association with progression-free survival (PFS). In contrast, postoperative total CTCs (≥6), positive MCTCs, and positive CTC-WBCs significantly correlated with recurrence and metastasis. These results remained independent indicators for worse PFS. In addition, the increased CTC and MCTC count after surgery also correlated with unfavorable PFS. The detection of six or more total CTCs, MCTC, or CTC-WBCs in peripheral blood after surgery might help to identify a subset of patients that have higher recurrent risk than the overall population of patients with at different stages of renal cancer.
