Summary: The disposal of food waste has become an environmental issue of great concern with the increasing consumption of materials. The conversion of food waste into biofuels using biotechnology is a very promising approach. Food waste can be converted into fuels such as bio‐methane, bio‐hydrogen, bio‐ethanol, and bio‐diesel by different biotechnologies. Food wastes as raw materials for biofuel preparation are mainly classified into protein, fat, starch, sugar, and cellulose. Carbohydrate‐rich wastes such as straw, bagasse, grape and apple pomace, and kitchen garbage can produce biofuels, which can be converted into biofuels through anaerobic digestion, aerobic digestion, and microbial fermentation processes. Co‐substrates are increasingly used to increase biofuel production and to overcome the shortcomings of a single substrate. The main raw materials for each biofuel are different. Anaerobic digestion technology can be utilized for the production of biomethane, and the digestion efficiency can be changed by the adjustment of the substrate combination, and reactor configuration. The process of methane production by anaerobic digestion mainly includes hydrolysis, acid production, acetic acid production, and methane production. The main raw materials used for methane preparation are livestock manure (pig manure, chicken manure, cow manure, etc.), straw and kitchen waste. Each raw material has a different methane yield and environmental friendliness. Fermentation technology of Saccharomyces cerevisiae can be used to produce bio‐ethanol, which consists mainly of raw material pretreatment, enzymatic digestion (saccharification), fermentation, and ethanol production. Cellulosic raw materials (including hemicellulose) are the most promising raw materials for ethanol production on earth, mainly straw, wood chips, peanut shells, and corn. Coupled biomass dark and photo‐fermentation technologies can be utilized to produce bio‐hydrogen, which includes degradation, dark fermentation, photo‐fermentation, and hydrogen production. Food waste containing lipids, proteins, and complex carbohydrates is a good substrate for the dark fermentation stage. The main raw materials for hydrogen production are kitchen wastewater, sugars (glucose), starch (cassava), and cellulose (water hyacinth and rice straw). Hydrothermal liquefaction, hydrothermal gasification, and hydrothermal carbonization technologies can be utilized to produce bio‐oil or bio‐char. The raw materials for bio‐oil/biochar are mainly Edible vegetable oil, nonedible vegetable oil, animal oil, waste edible oil, coffee residue, peanut shell, brewer's grains, grape pomace, sugarcane peel, straw, and wood chips, etc. The industrialization of biofuel technologies is limited by the lack of relevant research and needs to be extensively and thoroughly evaluated. In this paper, the respective advantages and disadvantages of each biofuel technology are clarified and the effects of culture conditions, pretreatment technologies, and reactors on biofuel production are discussed from a technological perspective. In the future, the technology of producing biofuels from various food wastes needs more research in waste conversion rate, product yield, treatment cycle, and cost effectiveness. As the economic environment changes, more and more loopholes appear in the actual application of traditional pricing methods. Existing methods cannot accurately predict changes in consumer demand and cannot accurately mine potential consumer demand. Existing methods cannot achieve the maximization of corporate profits, which has become a difficult problem for service-oriented corporate revenue management. This article mainly studies the pricing of service-oriented products in the context of revenue management. By studying and reviewing relevant literature on the dynamic pricing of service-oriented products, this article clarifies the characteristics of service-oriented products and several loopholes in the current pricing of service-oriented products. Based on the current research results of dynamic pricing at home and abroad, this article summarizes the influencing factors of dynamic pricing and establishes the dynamic pricing model of this article. This article selects the current hotspot and the reinforcement learning method that conforms to the multidimensional characteristics to solve the calculation of the model. Through analysis, the optimal state-action pair of the model in this article is obtained, and the optimal path of environment and behavior is formed to obtain the maximum profit. While considering the competition effect and market share, this study discusses how the cash flow bullwhip effect (CFBE) is impacted in two-product and two-parallel supply chain systems by comparing the situation that it has one kind of product in two-level supply chain (SC). Specifically, the study aimed to examine two-product and two-parallel SC systems that include two suppliers and two retailers. Assuming that the demand function is a linear relationship of price self-sensitivity coefficient and price cross-sensitivity coefficient, which is an AR(1) process, two retailers share the demand. After that, the quantitative equation of the CFBE was deduced from two-product and two-parallel SC systems. Finally, we get the condition that the competition effect and the market share increase or decrease the CFBE, which was in contrast to the situation without the competition effect and the market share. The paper suggested that the manager can cooperate with their partner if two products are substitutable. On the other hand, the firm should improve the forecasting accuracy of the customer's demand and improve the service quality so that it can increase the market share and reduce the CFBE in two-parallel SC systems. The polygonal wear around the wheel circumference could pose highly adverse influences on the wheel/rail interactions and thereby the performance of the vehicle system. In this study, the effects of wheel polygonalisation on the dynamic responses of a freight wagon are investigated through development and simulations of a comprehensive coupled vehicle-track dynamic model. The model integrates flexible ballasted track and wheelsets subsystem models so as to account for elastic deformations caused by impact loads induced by the wheel polygonalisation. Subsequently, the vehicles with low-order polygonal wear, whether in empty or loaded conditions, are simulated at different speeds considering different amplitudes and harmonic orders of the wheel polygonalisation and thus the mapping relation between wheel/rail impact force and wheel polygonalisation is obtained. The results reveal that the low-order wheel polygonalisation except 1st order and 3rd order can give rise to high-frequency impact loads at the wheel/rail interface and excite 1st-bend modes of the wheelset and "P2 resonance" leading to high-magnitude wheel/rail contact force at the corresponding speed. Low-frequency carbody swaying on China's high-speed trains is not only an impediment to ride comfort but it may also be an operational risk under some extreme situations. To study the mechanism and mitigate the carbody swaying problem for high-speed trains, a multibody dynamics model was established based on both linear and nonlinear analyses. Whilst it is generally assumed that carbody swaying is predominantly caused by carbody hunting motion, the results in this paper has shown that, under certain boundary conditions, bogie-hunting motion can also lead to low-frequency carbody swaying. This low-frequency swaying phenomenon was also found to be caused by the excessively low wheel-rail contact or mismatched suspension parameters. Parametric optimization analysis was accordingly conducted from the perspective of the wheel-rail contact relationship and the suspension system. The analysis indicated that although optimizing the suspension parameters can meet the requirement of vehicle stability, bogie's vibration worsen when the wheel profiles wear over time. Overall, while rail reprofiling was found to be one of the fundamental solutions to mitigate carbody swaying, it is cost prohibitive for most routine operational applications. Thus, for economic considerations and the fact that low wheel-rail contact conicity is also a contributing factor to carbody swaying, vehicles with worn wheels can also be operated on the rail line, which was successfully verified by the field data presented in this paper. The latest WHO guideline of CNS tumor defined a RELA fusion-positive ependymoma type with extremely poor prognosis, and the expression of L1CAM was correlated well with the presence of RELA fusion. However, the L1CAM protein expression in large sample gliomas other than ependymoma, its relationship with the RELA gene and its prognostic significance remained unknown. We examined the expression of L1CAM in 565 glioma cases (WHO grade I-IV). The L1CAM IHC-positive cases were selected to test RELA fusion with FISH break-apart probes. L1CAM was positive in 109 cases (19.29%) of all 565 glioma cases, with 18.27% in low-grade gliomas and 19.84% in high-grade gliomas, respectively. Unlike ependymoma, L1CAM protein expression was not correlated with the C11orf95-RELA fusion gene in other gliomas, but it had correction with the patient age (older than 45-year-old, p = 0.006), ATRX mutation (p = 0.003) and Ki67 (p = 0.007). High expression of L1CAM was an independent prognostic factor in our cohort. Further analysis demonstrated that L1CAM strong positive expression was significantly associated with poor prognosis in gliomas, both in our cohort (p < 0.001) and TCGA (p < 0.009) dataset. Although uncorrelated with C11orf95-RELA fusion, L1CAM was a significant poor prognostic marker in glioma patients. The aim of this study was to fabricate canine bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell sheet through the use of vitamin C, to identify the biological characteristics of the resulting cell sheets, and to reveal the potential mechanism of cell-sheet promotion by vitamin C. This study used vitamin C to induce bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells to proliferate. The resulting cells secreted large amounts of collagen, thereby shortening the construction time of the cell-sheet layer. In addition to these aims, we identified biological microcharacteristics of the cell sheet through histological observation, transmission electron microscopy, real-time PCR detection, immunohistochemical detection, and osteogenesis-induction experiments on the cell sheet. We were able to stably and rapidly construct bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell sheet, effectively harvest it, and transfer the seed cells for tissue engineering. This study indicates that the use of vitamin C for harvesting mesenchymal stem cell sheets from bone marrow may provide an easy and practical approach for bone tissue regeneration. Objectives. Fatty liver disease (FLD) is strongly linked to the occurrence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Insulin resistance (IR) is linked to smoking. Our study's purpose was to see how smoking and fatty liver accompanied affected the development of T2DM in the past. Materials and Methods. We collected data from 15,464 Japanese adults aged 18 to 79 years who took part in the NAGALA research, and our team utilized a Cox proportion risk model to look at the combination effect of FLD and smoking status on the incidence of T2DM. Participants were separated into three categories: nonsmokers, ex-smokers, and current smokers. An abdominal ultrasound was used to diagnose FLD. Results. 384 subjects had T2DM after a median follow-up of 5.4 years. In comparison to the other groups, current FLD smokers had a greater chance of developing T2DM. Ex-smokers and present FLD smokers, on the other hand, had no significant difference in their likelihood of acquiring T2DM. When compared to ex-smokers and nonsmokers without FLD, current smokers with FLD had a considerably greater chance of acquiring T2DM. Furthermore, the risk of T2DM among nonsmokers, ex-smokers with FLD, and current smokers without FLD was not statistically significant. Conclusions. Cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury involves complex events of cellular and molecular processes. Previous studies suggest that a neurovascular unit (NVU) acts as an intricate network to maintain the neuronal homeostatic microenvironment. The present study established an NVU model for oxygen-glucose deprivation and reoxygenation (OGD/R) damage, trying to target the major components of the NVU using a coculture of rat neurons, astrocytes, and rat brain microvascular endothelial cells (rBMECs) to investigate the therapeutic effects of troxerutin and cerebroprotein hydrolysate injections (TCHis). The study observed that OGD/R downregulated the expressions of GAP-43, Claudin-5, and AQP-4 obviously detected by Western blotting and immunocytochemical analysis, respectively, while TCHi ameliorated the effect of OGD/R significantly. Meanwhile, TCHi alleviated the abnormalities of ultrastructure of neurons and rBMECs induced by OGD/R. Furthermore, both levels of inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α) and cell adhesion molecules (VCAM-1 and ICAM-1) detected by ELISA in NVU supernatant were found elevated significantly through OGD/R, but TCHi ameliorated the trend. In addition, TCHi also mitigated the increase of proapoptotic factors (Bax, p53, and caspase-3) induced by OGD/R in NVU model statistically. All these findings demonstrated that TCHis played a protective role, which was reflected in anti-inflammation, antiapoptosis, and blood–brain barrier maintenance. Baicalin (BA) is a major flavone from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and has showed significant curative effects in Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases. In the present study, we investigated the effects of BA on antineuroinflammation and related signaling cascade in lipopolysaccharide- (LPS-) induced BV-2 microglial model. The results showed that BA significantly attenuated inflammatory mediators (NO, iNOS, IL-1β, COX-2, and PGE2) and suppressed the expression of miR-155. More crucially, BA could regulate the expression of related proteins in Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/myeloid differentiation protein 88 (MyD88)/nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) pathway and suppress the phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) family. In addition, molecular docking analysis indicated that BA binds to the amino acids Lie 63 and Tyr 65 of TLR4 by π - σ and π - π T-shaped interaction. Thus, BA suppressed the LPS-stimulated neuroinflammation in BV-2 microglia by blocking the TLR4-mediated signal transduction through TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB and MAPK pathways and inhibiting the miR-155 expression. New and innovative treatment strategies for cancer patients in the fields of immunotherapy and radiotherapy are rapidly developing in parallel. Among the most promising preclinical treatment approaches is combining immunotherapy with radiotherapy where early data suggest synergistic effects in several tumor model systems. These studies demonstrate that radiation combined with immunotherapy can result in superior efficacy for local tumor control. More alluring is the emergence of data suggesting an equally profound systemic response also known as "abscopal" effects with the combination of radiation and certain immunotherapies. Studies addressing optimal radiation dose, fractionation, and modality to be used in combination with immunotherapy still require further exploration. However, recent anecdotal clinical reports combining stereotactic or hypofractionated radiation regimens with immunotherapy have resulted in dramatic sustained clinical responses, both local and abscopal. Technologic advances in clinical radiation therapy has made it possible to deliver hypofractionated regimens anywhere in the body using stereotactic radiation techniques, facilitating further clinical investigations. The information resources owned by the government cannot be completely defined due to the incompleteness of the PPP contract. These information resources influence investors' judgment on the government's control rights, thus influencing the fair cooperative relationship and rational decision-making. In order to analyze the criteria for investors to evaluate the government's control rights in PPP projects in the process of decision, 14 factors that influence the government's control rights are identified through literature analysis and a questionnaire survey. Factor analysis shows that 14 factors are divided into explicit control indicators and implicit control indicators, which measure the explicit control rights and implicit control rights of the government, respectively. Considering the influence of differences in investors' opinions, the entropy weighing is made. The results show that the weight of implicit control right reaches 47.90%, which cannot be ignored in practice. The risk ratio has the greatest influence on explicit control rights, followed by the equity ratio. The status of government has the greatest influence on implicit control rights. The study helps to reduce the perceived bias of investors to the government's control rights of PPP projects for achieving partnership sustainability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study is aimed at thoroughly exploring the expression status, clinical significance, and underlying molecular mechanism of miRNA-33a-5p in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). Here, we detected miRNA-33a-5p in 20 samples from patients with LUSCs and 20 matching non-LUSC specimens by in-house quantitative real-time PCR (RT-qPCR). Relationship between miRNA-33a-5p expression and clinicopathological traits was investigated from materials derived from miRNA sequencing and miRNA microarrays. A pool standard mean difference (SMD) and summary receiver operating characteristic curves (SROC) were calculated to evaluate the integrated expression value of miRNA-33a-5p in LUSC. Twelve online platforms were applied to select potential target genes of miRNA-33a-5p. The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of LUSC and the candidate target genes of miRNA-33a-5p were overlapped to acquire a set of specific genes for further analyses of the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), Gene Ontology (GO), and protein–protein interaction (PPI) network. miRNA-33a-5p overexpressed in LUSC was supported by 706 LUSC and 261 non-LUSC samples gathering from RT-qPCR, miRNA-seq, and public miRNA microarrays. The pooled SMD was 0.56 (95% CI: -0.01-1.05), and the area under the curve (AUC) of the SROC was 0.78 (95% CI: 0.74-0.82). A total of 240 genes were identified as potential target genes of miRNA-33a-5p for functional enrichment analyses; the results suggested that these target genes may participate in several vital biological processes that promote the proliferation and progression of LUSC. miRNA-33a-5p may play an essential role in the occurrence and development of LUSC by targeting hub genes (ETS1, EDNRB, CYR61, and LRRK2) derived from the PPI network. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of knockdown of the yes-associated protein (YAP) and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ) on the migration and invasion of the rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes (RA-FLS) and to preliminarily elucidate the mechanisms between YAP/TAZ and autophagy in the migration and invasion of RA-FLS. RA-FLS stable knockdown of YAP or TAZ was successfully established by using lentiviral-mediated gene knockdown techniques. Wound healing assay and Transwell assay were used to evaluate the effect of knockdown of YAP or TAZ on the migration and invasion of RA-FLS. Reverse transcription quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) and western blotting assays were performed to examine the expression of indicated genes. The results showed that YAP and TAZ were upregulated in RA-FLS, and knockdown of YAP or TAZ inhibited the migration and invasion, reduced the expression of N-cadherin and Vimentin, and increased the accumulation of E-cadherin and β-catenin in RA-FLS. Our results also demonstrated that knockdown of YAP or TAZ promoted autophagy which increased the accumulation of LC3B-II and ULK1 and decreased the amount of SQSTM1/p62 in RA-FLS. Furthermore, our data displayed that inhibition of autophagy either with 3-MA or CQ can partially reverse the decrease of migration and invasion induced by YAP and TAZ knockdown in RA-FLS. Our experiments preliminarily revealed that YAP/TAZ and autophagy play important roles in the migration and invasion of RA-FLS, which might provide novel targets for the treatment of RA. Aims. To investigate the effect of preoperative HbA1c levels on the postoperative outcomes of coronary artery disease surgery in diabetic and nondiabetic patients. Methods and Results. The MEDLINE (via PubMed), Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, Wanfang Data, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Chinese Biology Medicine (CBM) databases were used to search the effects of different preoperative HbA1c levels on the postoperative outcomes of coronary artery disease surgical treatment in diabetic and nondiabetic patients from inception to December 2018. Two review authors worked in an independent and duplicate manner to select eligible studies, extract data, and assess the risk of bias of the included studies. We used a meta-analysis to synthesize data and analyze subgroups, sensitivity, and publication bias as well as the GRADE methodology if appropriate. The literature search retrieved 886 records initially, and 23 cohort studies were included in the meta-analysis. In this meta-analysis, we found that there was a reduced incidence of surgical site infections (OR = 2.94 , 95% CI 2.18-3.98), renal failure events (OR = 1.63 , 95% CI 1.13-2.33), and myocardial infarction events (OR = 1.69 , 95% CI 1.16-2.47), as well as a shortened hospital stay (MD = 1.08 , 95% CI 0.46-1.71), in diabetic patients after coronary artery disease surgical treatment with lower preoperative HbA1c levels. For nondiabetic patients, a higher preoperative HbA1c level resulted in an increase in the incidence of mortality (OR = 2.23 , 95% CI 1.01-4.90) and renal failure (OR = 2.33 , 95% CI 1.32-4.12). No significant difference was found between higher and lower preoperative HbA1c levels in the incidence of mortality (OR = 1.06 , 95% CI 0.88-1.26), stroke (OR = 1.49 , 95% CI 0.94-2.37), or atrial fibrillation (OR = 0.94 , 95% CI 0.67-1.33); the length of ICU stay (MD = 0.20 , 95% CI -0.14-0.55); or sepsis incidence (OR = 2.49 , 95% CI 0.99-6.25) for diabetic patients or for myocardial infarction events (OR = 1.32 , 95% CI 0.27-6.31) or atrial fibrillation events (OR = 0.99 , 95% CI 0.74-1.33) for nondiabetic patients. The certainty of evidence was judged to be moderate or low. Conclusion. This meta-analysis showed that higher preoperative HbA1c levels may potentially increase the risk of surgical site infections, renal failure, and myocardial infarction and reduce the length of hospital stay in diabetic subjects after coronary artery disease surgical treatment and increase the risk of mortality and renal failure in nondiabetic patients. However, there was great inconsistency in defining higher preoperative HbA1c levels in the studies included; we still need high-quality RCTs with a sufficiently large sample size to further investigate this issue in the future.
