The article discusses the Mount Kinabalu in Borneo. Mt. Kinabalu is the highest mountain in Southeast Asia and the Mount Kinabalu National Park was established to protect and preserve the mountain's natural habitats and geological features. An overview of mountain's geographical location, climate, and ecosystems are presented. Threats to forest communities includes population increase, erosion and infertility of soil. Ecotourism is proposed to preserve the forest and the rural way of life.
