Two novel multisegment loops coupled ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification near-field (NF) antenna with a uniform and strong magnetic field distribution over an electrically large interrogation zone are designed. Each proposed antenna is composed of eight loops, and the current distribution along the loop is kept in-phase using a segmented line. To further achieve a more uniform magnetic field, the last four loops of the two proposed antennas (ANT 1 and ANT 2) are loaded with parasitic structures. Here, a 100% detection rate is achieved by ANT 1 within an interrogation area of 370×560×105 mm3 for the bidirectional operation setup. As for ANT2, it is backed by an artificial magnetic conductor to enhance the magnetic field strength and reduce the profile with respect to a configuration with a PEC reflector plane, and it has yielded a 100% detection rate within the interrogation area of 370×560×185 mm3 for the unidirectional operation setup. The proposed ANT2 can cover the UHF band of China, the Federal Communications Commission band of North America, and European Telecommunication Standards Institute band of Europe. This letter proposes a data-driven sparse polynomial chaos expansion-based surrogate model for the stochastic economic dispatch problem considering uncertainty from wind power. The proposed method can provide accurate estimations for the statistical information (e.g., mean, variance, probability density function, and cumulative distribution function) for the stochastic economic dispatch solution efficiently without requiring the probability distributions of random inputs. Simulation studies on an integrated electricity and gas system (IEEE 118-bus system integrated with a 20-node gas system) are presented, demonstrating the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method compared to the Monte Carlo simulations. This article proposed a PairCon-simultaneous localization and mapping algorithm to construct dense maps of large-scale scenarios in real time, which is operated in an integral platform containing two personal computers (PCs). This platform can operate the mapping thread independently in a PC to guarantee sufficient memory resources. In this context, the synchronous visualization of 3-D maps can be achieved in such a platform. In contrast, traditional algorithms are limited by the short operation distance, under the requirement of simultaneous data collection and 3-D maps construction in a PC. In addition, the memory resource provided by a single PC is limited, which restricts the constructing scale of maps. Thus, we use a separate PC to construct maps independently to relieve the distance constraint and exploit the socket method to conduct the transmission of data with the point cloud. Meanwhile, we introduce the ReBlur algorithm into the semi-direct method to reduce the error accumulation of the odometer in the tracking thread, which improves the robustness performance. In addition, the method combining the memory management and DBow2 algorithm is adopted to improve the accuracy of loop detection. In the considered system, the quality of maps and the performance of the odometer are evaluated by ICL-NUIM and the datasets, such as TUM, DIODE, and so on, respectively. Finally, under the simulation environment of AirSim and Gazebo, we construct maps based on the image data of other scenarios, which is used to show the quality of the construction. The increasing uncertainty level caused by growing renewable energy sources (RES) and aging transmission networks poses a great challenge in the assessment of total transfer capability (TTC) and available transfer capability (ATC). In this paper, a novel data-driven sparse polynomial chaos expansion (DDSPCE) method is proposed for estimating the probabilistic characteristics (e.g., mean, variance, probability distribution) of probabilistic TTC (PTTC). Specifically, the proposed method, requiring no pre-assumed probabilistic distributions of random inputs, exploits data sets directly in estimating the PTTC. Besides, a sparse scheme is integrated to improve the computational efficiency. Numerical studies on the modified IEEE 118-bus system demonstrate that the proposed DDSPCE method can achieve accurate estimation for the probabilistic characteristics of PTTC with a high efficiency. Moreover, numerical results reveal the great significance of incorporating discrete random inputs in PTTC and ATC assessment, which nevertheless was not given sufficient attention.
