Abstract

Based on the distribution characteristic of frequencies of hydrological time serial and wavelet analysis, the time serial made of different frequencies is decomposed into the low and high frequencies by scale. The trend composition of time sequence is resorted according to the reconstruction theory of wavelet coefficient, so that the trend of hydrological time sequence is judged. This paper studied the measured annual runoff sequence of four hydrological stations in the Yellow River. The result shows that it is feasible to apply multi-resolution analysis in analyzing hydrology time sequence tread.

Abstract

The evolution Raman effect in a single-mode tellurite fiber (SMTF) was investigated by pumping a nanosecond laser operated at ~1545 nm. With the increase of the average pump power, inverse Raman scattering (IRS) effect was first observed in a 2.5-m-long SMTF, which induced a steadily growing second-order Raman Stokes that finally exceeded the first-order Raman Stokes. When the length of the SMTF was reduced to 0.5 m, no IRS effect was obtained due to the lower Raman gain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

We report on the multiple midinfrared soliton generation based on a birefringent tellurite microstructured optical fiber pumped in the deep anomalous dispersion regime at 2 \mu \textm . The wavelengths of the solitons can be continuously shifted to the longer wavelength region by the Raman-induced frequency shift effect. The central wavelength of the first soliton polarized parallel to the fast axis can be tuned as wide as 680 nm from 2050 to 2730 nm by adjusting the pump power. After the pump polarization is operated at 45° to the fast axis, two soliton pairs can be generated by the optical trapping effect. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
