This paper mainly studies and calculates the temperature field distribution of a high speed water-cooled switched reluctance motor. First, according to the actual size of the motor, an equivalent thermal model was established and the temperature rise of each node was calculated. Since the solution of the equivalent thermal circuit method results in an average temperature rise, it cannot reflect the temperature of each point inside the motor. Therefore, the finite element model of the SRM is established, and the temperature of each point in the motor is further calculated and compared with the equivalent thermal model results. Then, the influence of the polarity distribution of the SRM on the temperature distribution was analyzed using the finite element model. Finally, an experiment was conducted to measure the temperature inside the motor and verify the model.
