Salvadora persica L. (Sp) has been widely used as folk medicine. This study aimed to identify and assess the significant phenolics' antioxidant activities in young (S1) and old (S2) leaves of Sp. Six flavonoids; isoquercitrin, kaempferol-3-neohesperidoside, myricetin-3-galactoside, apigenin-O-hexoside, isorhamnetin and isorhamnetin-3-neohesperidoside, were identified for the first time in Sp leaves using LC-ESI-QTOF MS/MS analysis. The flavonoid-rich fraction obtained after purification of S1 (S1TF7) has the highest TFC (358.88 ± 0.12 mg rutin equivalent/g) and TPC (180.82 ± 0.82 mg gallic acid equivalent/g) and exhibits significant (p 0.05). The study concludes that S1TF7 can serve as a mean to prevent oxidative diseases, and it merits further pharmacological investigations.

Reasoning of particular mechanism of anomalous thermal transport behaviors is not identified yet for the nanofluids. In this research, the thermal conductivity of maghemite (MH) nanoparticles dispersed deionized water (DW) nanofluids (MH/DW) has been evaluated for the first time using the modified effective medium theories (EMTs). EMTs have been modified with the consideration of static and dynamic effects combinedly for the analysis of anomalous behaviors of thermal conductivity enhancements of the spherical nanoparticles dispersed nanofluids. MH nanoparticles (~20 nm) were synthesized using chemical co-precipitation techniques. MH/DW nanofluids were prepared with the varying MH nanoparticles loading in DW and thermal conductivity was measured using KD2 pro device. The thermal conductivity enhancement (~32 %) was found to be increased linearly with the increasing MH nanoparticle concentration and nonlinearly with the increasing temperature. Existing Maxwell and Maxwell Gantt EMA (MG-EMA) models exhibited awful under-prediction from experimental thermal conductivities of MH/DW nanofluids. Modified model with considering static and dynamic mechanisms of MH nanoparticles combinedly showed reasonably very good agreement with the experimental thermal conductivities of MH/DW nanofluids at elevated temperature. This modified model opens the new windows to analyze the insight of the thermophysical properties of various types of nanofluids by introducing potential parameters.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of water-based aerobic training on the lipid profile and lipoprotein lipase (LPL) levels in premenopausal women with dyslipidemia.Forty women were randomly assigned to: aquatic training (WA; n = 20) or a control group (CG; n = 20). The WA group underwent 12 weeks of water-based interval aerobic training twice a week at intensities ranging from 9 to 15 on the Borg Scale of Perceived Exertion. Total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high- (HDL) and low- (LDL) density lipoprotein, TC/HDL ratio, LPL levels, and peak oxygen consumption (VOThe WA group elicited decreases in TC (9%; effect size [ES] = 0.69; 95% CI [0.05, 1.33]), LDL (16%; ES = 0.78; 95% CI [0.13, 1.42]), and the TC/HDL ratio (17%; ES = 1.13; 95% CI [0.46, 1.79]), as well as increases in VOWater-based interval aerobic training positively affected the lipid profile in premenopausal dyslipidemic women.

The aim of this investigation is to clarify the types and concentrations of VOCs present in various commercial household water-based hand pump spray products used in Japan, and to estimate their average concentrations in indoor air when the spray product is used. We selected glycol and glycol ethers as the main target compounds, as these chemicals were detected at high frequencies and concentrations in a national survey of Japanese indoor air pollution. The extraction of these chemicals using graphite carbon cartridges was examined, with good recoveries and reproducibilities being obtained. Eighteen chemicals were analyzed in 54 commercial products and 8 chemicals were detected. More specifically, dipropylene glycol (DPG) was present in 44 samples (1.1 × 101-1.8 × 104 μg/mL); propylene glycol (PG) was present in 22 samples (1.5 × 101-2.9 × 104 μg/mL); diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (DGMEE) was found in 15 samples (trace amount-1.9 × 103 μg/mL); diethylene glycol (DEG) was present in 9 samples (1.0 × 101-2.4 × 103 μg/mL); 1,3-butandiol (13BG) was found in 5 samples (trace amount-7.4 × 103 μg/mL); 2-ethyl-1-hexanol (2E1H) was detected in 5 samples (3.2 × 10-1-4.4 × 101 μg/mL); diethylene glycol monobutyl ether (DGMBE) was present in 4 samples (2.1 × 101-7.1 × 101 μg/mL); and 3-methoxy-3-methylbutanol (MMB) was found in 2 samples (2.4 × 101-4.7 × 102 μg/mL). In addition, the average concentrations of these chemicals in indoor air were estimated using their maximum concentrations observed in the spray product. The estimated average concentrations of the chemicals in indoor air were determined to range between 1.0 × 10-2 and 1.0 mg/m3, with the exception of 2E1H and DGMBE. Furthermore, the estimated average concentrations of PG, 13BG, and DGMEE in indoor air were comparable to or higher than those reported in a national survey of Japanese indoor air pollution. It therefore appeared that household water-based hand pump sprays may contribute to the presence of these chemicals in indoor air. In contrast, estimated average concentrations of 2E1H in indoor air were low, its concentrations observed in a national survey of Japanese indoor air pollution are likely due to the use of plasticizers and paints.
