The set of qualities that promoted power groups, in times of modernism, on wine homesteads, became identity models. Examples which should imitate to be considered part of a progressive society, modern and civilized. However, it is important to note that the modern features that are touted rebelled aspects of a reality that is meant to represent and also hid a social and economic context opposite. Therefore, in this paper we propose an interdisciplinary approach made from an analysis of historical architectural wine homesteads between 1885 and 1910, as a representative identity model of the ultimate expression of modern liberal discourse in order to understand concepts and cultural values influencing local society. We analyzed both edit historical documentary sources, as well as buildings that remain today. The importance of the work lies on one hand, in enriching current architectural historical studies on the subject, and on the other, which in turn allows us to understand and define variables of analysis that integrate the networks of relationships that come together in the cultural significance of wine homesteads. These houses are considered cultural heritage at Cuyo Region. Finally, this information is currently required and can be applied in the interpretation of programs homesteads and cultural routes of local tourism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
