According to Giorgio Agamben's view, Michel Foucault has failed to link his biopolitical analysis with totalitarianism, as well as Hannah Arendt has not established a relationship between The origins of Totalitarianism and The Human Condition. Hence, Agamben remarks the need for a new biopolitical paradigm that enables to think a theoretical and historical connection between the Concentration camp and modern politics focused on biological life. This paper will attempt to revise this agambenian assumption, focusing on the relationship between Sovereign power and Biopolitics. This relationship remains paradoxical, especially from the moment Western political power engaged itself to protect and multiply life, it waged the bloodiest wars and committed genocide in unthinkable magnitudes.
