1. Structure and Kinematics of Sh2-138—A Distant Hub-filament System in the Outer Galactic Plane

Abstract

We present a molecular line study of the Sh2-138 (IRAS 22308+5812) hub-filament system with the aim of investigating its structure and kinematics. Archival CO molecular line data from the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey (CO( J = 1–0)) for the wider region (∼50′ × 50′) and the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (CO(3–2), ^13 CO(3–2), and C ^18 O(3–2)) for the central portion (∼5′ × 5′) have been utilized. Analysis of the CO(1–0) spectra for the extended region in conjunction with the identification of the hub and filament using a column density map and the getsf tool, respectively, reveals a complex structure with the spectral extraction for the central position displaying multiple velocity components. Based on the Herschel 70 μ m warm dust emission, one of the filaments in the extended region was inferred to be associated with active star formation, and is host to a Bolocam 1.1 mm clump of ∼1606 M _☉ . An integrated intensity map of ^13 CO(3–2) emission, constructed from clumps detected at above 5 σ in position–position–velocity space, reveals three filamentary structures (labeled the western filament (W-f), southwestern filament (SW-f), and southeast filament (SE-f)) in the central portion. Velocity gradients observed in ^13 CO(3–2) position–velocity slices point to longitudinal gas flow along the filaments into the central region. Filaments W-f, SW-f, and SE-f were calculated to have observed line masses of ∼32, 33.5, and 50 M _☉ pc ^−1 , respectively. The cloud was found to be dominated by supersonic and nonthermal motions, with high Mach numbers (≳3) and a low thermal-to-nonthermal pressure ratio (∼0.01–0.1).

10. Structural changes in Ukraine’s electricity generation and their impact on the reduction of CO2 emissions

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to assess the state of and structural changes in Ukraine’s electricity generation and their impact on the reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. For the investigation, data from the International Energy Agency and the National Power Company Ukrenergo were used. The study analyzes the trends in Ukraine CO2 emissions by economic sector, the trends in the country’s electricity generation and electricity generation capacities, the structure of electricity generation capacities by type of flexibility and presents the calculations of the integral coefficients of structural changes in the electricity generation capacities and electricity generation by type of flexibility. The study also examines how the structure of the energy sector of Ukraine has changed in terms of electricity generation. For this purpose, the structure of the Ukrainian electricity generation capacities and electricity generation by generation type is considered and the integral coefficients of structural changes in the electricity capacities and electricity production by generation type are calculated. Based on the study results, it is determined that, over the considered period, the decrease in Ukraine’s electricity generation was more significant than the decrease in its generation capacities, which has led to a corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions in the country; the structural changes in the electric power industry of Ukraine were not adequate to the structural changes in the country’s economy, which has led to a shortage in flexible capacities but also resulted in the reduction of CO2 emissions due to a decline in electricity generation.

12. Feasibility studies of strangeness production in heavy-ion interactions at the BM@N experiment using Monte Carlo simulations

Abstract

In 2022, the Baryonic Matter at Nuclotron (BM@N) experimental setup at JINR (Dubna) will be ready in its full configuration to investigate heavy-ion interactions. At the same time, the accelerator complex of the Booster and Nuclotron is being prepared to accelerate and deliver extracted heavy-ion beams to the BM@N fixed target zone. One of the physics objectives, which BM@N will be able to pursue, is measurement of the (multi)strange hyperon excitation functions, i.e. hyperon yields at different energies. These measurements can help to determine the equation of state of the high-density baryonic matter. In this paper, the results of the Monte Carlo simulation of the BM@N detector performance for studying strangeness production in heavy-ion interactions in future runs are presented.

Abstract

We report the results of a search for dark photon in-flight decays to μ + μ − pairs at NA62. Dark photons could be produced by dumping protons onto a copper-iron absorber, reach the NA62 decay volume more than 80 m downstream of the dump and decay therein. The measurement is based on data collected in 2021 which correspond to 1.4 × 1017 dumped protons.

Abstract

For transparent conducting oxides, the most important characteristics are electrical and optical parameters, which are interconnected. The article presents a study results of the optical properties of transparent conducting oxides based on tin dioxide obtained by spray pyrolysis. To study the transparent conducting oxides parameters, the method of pointwise unconditional minimization and the Tauc model were used.

Abstract

Energy efficiency and energy saving are actively developing. One of the promising areas of optoelectronics is the improvement of electrochromic panels or smart glasses. Smart glasses are divided into electrochromic, thermochromic and photochromic. The devices incorporate thin-film structures that are transparent conductive oxide (TCO) and transition metal oxide (TMO). An urgent scientific task is a systematic comprehensive study of the parameters of specified thin films, as well as the improvement of methods for their synthesis to obtain coatings with specified properties. A promising and most suitable method for the synthesis of the above-listed coatings is the method of aerosol pyrolysis, which has a number of advantages: ease of implementation and the possibility of embedding into the finished technological process while maintaining the coating quality. The article analyzes the results of the study of the following coatings parameters: the efficiency of coloring; TMO response time; the TCO throughput and conductivity.

21. The wastes of Luhansk region chemical and energy enterprises and their impact on the environment

Abstract

The chemical and energy industries are one of the most powerful generators of solid industrial waste. Such enterprises have water treatment plants. The result of the water treatment process is the formation of a water treatment sludge. The sludge composition includes carbonates and hydroxides of calcium, magnesium, iron, aluminum, and coagulated natural organic materials. A significant amount of waste in the form of fly ash and fuel slag is generated in the process of burning coal at power plants. Such wastes are usually classified as “low-risk”. Nevertheless, when wastes are stored in the storage, they create environmental and economic problems. Large areas of land are alienated for storage. Dust emissions and filtration losses are observed in the process of waste storage. The wastes impact of the Luhansk region enterprises on the environment has been studied. Waste storage facilities are located on the left bank of the Seversky Donets River in the zone of Dnieper-Donetsk structure articulation and the Voronezh anteclise. Features of the territory geological environment are explained by the presence of geological disturbances, loamy-sandy and carbonate rocks, manifestations of carbonate karst. The wastes degrade the quality of surface and ground waters used for water supply in the region.

Abstract

У цій статті розкриваються теоретичні та концептуальні основи проблем глобального інституційні трансформації, трансформаційні стратегії вищої освіти, питання якості, особистісно орієнтовані стратегії, мультикультуралізм, комунікаційні стратегії вищої освіти. Це представлено рівень та якість інтернаціоналізації вищої освіти України, становлення світоглядної основи для стимулювання та шляхів забезпечення сталого розвитку суспільства, до підвищити соціальну відповідальність вищої освіти та посилити її функціональну ефективність для суспільства. У вищій школі зараз бракує базових системних знань про стале розвиток, його цілі та шляхи. Екологічні проблеми досить часто недооцінюються як стосуються лише природничих наук, соціальні та гуманітарні завдання сталого розвитку є занижений. У багатьох країнах, особливо з колишніх колоніальних чи квазіколоніальних статусів, успіх політики сталого розвитку вирішально залежить від визнання та прийняття цієї політики новим поколінням громадян. Студенти як передова та соціально активна частина Росії нове покоління є цільовою аудиторією для просвітництва сталого розвитку. 26. Development of epitaxial PbS layers obtaining method for photoelectric transducers

Abstract

Photoelectric transducers are a semiconductor device that converts photonic energy into electrical energy. This paper describes obtained by the hotwall epitaxy method epitaxial PbS layers technology. Materials, methods, technological parameters of synthesis were selected and substantiated. A theoretical model of the p-n transition has been developed. The calculation of the main parameters has been done. The hotwall epitaxy method was chosen for the synthesis, because it allows to obtain layers with required properties in a single technological cycle with an economical consumption of material. BaF2 was chosen as the substrate, because in this case a smaller difference in the identity periods and the layer and the substrate thermal expansion coefficients is achieved.

27. Metrological aspects of an automated method for measuring electrophysical parameters of soft magnetic materials

Abstract

The structure of an automated system for measuring magnetic-hysteresis loops, normal magnetization curve, magnetic permeability with an error of no more than ± 1% is proposed. The measuring principle is based on the inferential measurements of the magnetic induction and the coercive force by integrating the secondary voltage and the excitation current. As a result of metrological analysis, an increase in the measurements accuracy is achieved both by improving the hardware implementation and calibrating the measuring channels, by introducing a correction for the systematic component of the error.

33. Role and significance of treatment in modern farming systems

Abstract

The article deals with the influence of various methods of basic soil treatment on indicators of soil fertility and productivity of grain crop rotation crops at the experimental field of the Centre for precision farming. This center is based on the field experiment with the total area of about 6 hectares in the comparative study of precision and traditional farming technologies, as well as basic soil treatment techniques in a four-course crop rotation with alternating of crops: vetch and oat mixture for feed-winter wheat with stubble sowing of mustard for green manure-potatoes-barley. Two factors are studied in the experiment, namely technologies of field crops cultivation and methods of basic soil treatment. It is found that for most years, dump treatment was in the lead, primarily on a vetch and oat mixture and potatoes. The overall conclusion is that there are various degrees of manifestation interdependence between crops productivity and individual indicators of soil fertility, depending on treatment. The use of various agricultural methods that improve the rates of agrophysical, biological and agrochemical indicators will prevent the beginning of soil degradation in the field experiment of the center for precision farming and will stabilize soil characteristics at a sufficiently high level.

Abstract

The article is aimed at studying environmental responsibility of multinational enterprises in electronics and IT sectors. The main aspects of environmental policy of global business enterprises have been systematized, their characteristics for such high-tech market leaders as Alphabet Inc, IBM and Intel Corporation have been given. Corporate policies have been analyzed and compared in three aspects of environmental activity of the companies selected for this study: waste recycling, energy use and environmental impact. The results of the analysis of eco-responsible companies’ practices show that each company forms management style and tools by implementing environmental responsibility, but none of them has managed to hold higher positions in the ranking of business environmental responsibility. Reserves for activating eco-oriented companies’ policy in IT sector have been identified.

45. Macrozoobenthos communities in the Kuybyshev reservoir Priplotinnyi Reach: long-term dynamics

Abstract

The authors analyzed the dynamics of benthic communities in the Kuybyshev Reservoir Priplotinnyi Reach, over a long-term observation period 1958-2020. The authors note a certain frequency of changes in the ratio of macrozoobenthos coenoses and biomass of benthic communities at the stations of the former Volga channel and the Priplotinnyi Reach floodplain. During the research period in 2005, 2020 there was a decrease in the biomass of benthos. The stage of destabilization of the Kuybyshev reservoir ecosystem, noted since the mid-1980s, against the background of anthropogenic eutrophication processes, is accompanied by a sharp decrease in the biomass of benthos and structural changes in benthic communities. In 2020, the benthos biomass, compared to 1985, decreased in deep-water areas and in the Priplotinnyi Reach coastal zone by about 8 times and amounted to 2.0 g / m2, which is due to a decrease in the proportion of pelophilic coenosis of oligochaetes Tubifex tubife and Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri. The biomass of forage benthos in the coastal zone decreased from 5.48 g / m2 to 2.94-1.75 g / m2 due to anthropogenic impact. The authors revealed similar processes of development of the chironomid coenosis on the former channel and the flooded floodplain. During the autumn survey, 9 species were recorded in shallow waters, the proportion of which is 19.5%. There was found a low biomass of Procladius ferrugineus larvae -0.05 -0.08 g / m2. The authors discuss the data of hydrobiological monitoring at the stations of the former channel and the flooded floodplain of the Priplotinnyi Reach, including the change in the coenosis of chironomids (Diptera, Chironomidae) as an object of indication of the ecological state of the reservoir.

Abstract

Experimental atomic radial distribution functions, obtained from diffraction amorphous materials, are proposed to be interpreted using the model curves built upon the complete structural data of crystal analogues or upon the separate fragments of their structure. This modelling technique is called a fragmentary model. A model atomic radial distribution function is a radial cross section of the spherically symmetric function of interatomic distances. It characterises a nanodispersed diffraction amorphous polycrystal as uniquely as the values of interplanar spacings and intensities characterise a regular polycrystal. Comparing the model and experimental atomic radial distribution functions by the maxima positions we can perform the “identification” and “phase analysis” of nanodispersed diffraction amorphous polycrystals and define the crystalline compounds whose fragments form the structure of glass.

47. The Diskâ€"Outflow System around the Rare Young O-type Protostar W42-MME.

Abstract

We present line and continuum observations (resolution ∼0.″3â€"3.″5) made with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), Submillimeter Array, and Very Large Array of a young O-type protostar W42-MME (mass: 19 ± 4 M ⊙). The ALMA 1.35 mm continuum map (resolution ∼1″) shows that W42-MME is embedded in one of the cores (i.e., MM1) located within a thermally supercritical filament-like feature (extent ∼0.15 pc) containing three cores (mass ∼1â€"4.4 M ⊙). Several dense/hot gas tracers are detected toward MM1, suggesting the presence of a hot molecular core with a gas temperature of ∼38â€"220 K. The ALMA 865 ÎĽ m continuum map (resolution ∼0.″3) reveals at least five continuum sources/peaks (Aâ€"E) within a dusty envelope (extent ∼9000 au) toward MM1, where shocks are traced in the SiO (8â€"7) emission. Source A associated with W42-MME is seen almost at the center of the dusty envelope and is surrounded by other continuum peaks. The ALMA CO (3â€"2) and SiO (8â€"7) line observations show the bipolar outflow extended below 10,000 au, which is driven by source A. The ALMA data hint at the episodic ejections from W42-MME. A disk-like feature (extent ∼2000 au, mass ∼1 M ⊙) with velocity gradients is investigated in source A (dynamical mass ∼9 M ⊙) using the ALMA H13CO+ emission, and it is perpendicular to the CO outflow. A small-scale feature (below 3000 au), probably heated by UV radiation from the O-type star, is also investigated toward source A. Overall, W42-MME appears to gain mass from its disk and the dusty envelope. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Today, countries face a real security threat when closing borders in voluntary isolation from production chains. Many states have not paid due attention to the search for a profitable niche, specializing in the global commercial space. The pandemic has transformed business and society: business models, technologies and markets have quickly changed the relationship between people. The world economy will fall by 3% in 2020, the worst since the Great Depression. The coronavirus outbreak triggered three macroeconomic processes: a global attack on demand, a global attack on supply, and an oil war that brought prices down to low levels in the coming months. These events will soon lead to the massive destruction of capital and, consequently, to structural unemployment. It is a fact that not all countries are able to produce everything they need for themselves. The solution may be to concentrate on producing individual products or providing services within countries that cannot be bought abroad.

Abstract

This paper reveals the theoretical and conceptual foundations of the issues of global institutional transformations, transformative strategies of higher education, quality issues, personality-oriented strategies, multiculturalism, communication strategies of higher education. It presents the level and quality of internationalization of higher education in Ukraine, the formation of a worldview basis to stimulate and ways to ensure sustainable development of society, to increase the social responsibility of higher education and to strengthen its functional efficiency for society. In higher education now it is lack of basic systemic knowledge about sustainable development, its aims and ways. The environmental issues are quite often misevaluated as relevant only to natural sciences, social and humanitarian tasks of sustainable development are underestimated. In many countries, especially from former colonial or quasi-colonial status ones, the success of sustainable development policy is crucial dependent on recognition and acceptance of this policy by new generation of citizens. Students as an advanced and socially active part of new generation are the target audience for sustainable development enlightenment. In Ukraine these problems are additionally determined by low participation in international projects and some bureaucratization of such participation.
