2. Prediction model of household appliance energy consumption based on machine learning

Abstract

This paper presents and discusses the prediction model of household appliance energy consumption. The paper discusses data filtering to remove non-predictive parameters, and used for model training. Five prediction models are trained with repeated cross validation and evaluated in the testing set: support vector machine (SVM), k nearest neighbor (KNN), random forest (RF), extreme random forest (ERF), and long short-term memory network (LSTM). Among them, the LSTM, which is a deep learning method, behaves the best performance. LSTM has the highest R2 (0.97) and the lowest RMSE (21.36) in the testing set. The analysis results show that the deep learning method has advantages in the prediction of household appliance energy consumption.

Abstract

Video object segmentation is a mainstream branch of current image processing direction. How to achieve deep learning from complete supervision to unsupervised is the key problem that people are trying to solve. In this process, One-Shot Video Object Segmentation (OSVOS) can successfully tackle the task of semi-supervised video object segmentation. It transfers the general semantic information learned on ImageNet to the foreground segmentation task, and then learns the mapping of a single annotated object in sequence. In this paper, based on the concept of OSVOS, an improved neural network structure with dilated convolution, multi-scale convolution fusion and skip layer is proposed. Dilated convolution can increase the size of the receiving field. Multi-scale convolution can obtain multi-scale feature maps and fuse them. Skip layers can transfer feature information from low layer to upper layer. All of them help to improve the final accuracy. The experimental results show that all indicators has been improved.

Abstract

In air combat simulation training systems, it is possible to train with "smart" opponents, which can greatly improve the pilot's combat level. In the new generation of aircraft, an embedded virtual opponent training platform is also designed to enable real-time train with pilots. The core of training is in air combat training. Computers can make decisions based on the current situation. The idea of this paper is to allow pilots to training on specific tactics of warfare in the "human-in-the-loop" combat simulation system, forming strategies under different situation, and then establishing the relationship between machine learning input and output. Through the structured processing of simulation data, the radial neural network model is used for learning and training, and the trained model is used to predict and process the input situation data in real time, and a virtual opponent strategy is generated.

Abstract

In order to accurately describe the asymmetric rate-bias-dependent hysteresis of a Fe-Ga alloy magnetostrictive actuator, a comprehensive model, which is composed of a phenomenon model, describing hysteresis by the modified Bouc-Wen hysteresis operator, and a theoretical model, representing the dynamics characteristics, is put forward. The experimental system is setup to verify the performance of the comprehensive model. Results show that the modified Bouc-Wen model can effectively describe the dynamics and hysteresis characteristics of the Fe-Ga alloy magnetostrictive actuator. The results highlight significantly improved accuracy in the modeling of the magnetostrictive actuator.

Abstract

In this paper, stable single-mode operation at high temperatures is produced by the surface-relief-integrated vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL). The gain-cavity mode detuning technique is employed to realize high operating temperatures for the VCSEL. The surface relief is etched in the centre of the top side as a mode discriminator for the fundamental mode output, and the threshold current minimum is 1.94 mA at high temperatures by the gain-cavity mode detuning technique. Maximum single-fundamental-mode output power of 0.45 mW at 80 °C is obtained, and the side mode suppression ratios (SMSRs) are more than 30 dB with increasing temperature and current, respectively.

Abstract

We presented a single-transverse-mode and single-polarization vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) with an eye-shaped oxide aperture, obtained by enhanced anisotropic oxidation of oxide layer. For apertures with dimensions of 2 × 4.6 and 3 × 6 µm2, the orthogonal polarization suppression ratio (OPSR) of the VCSEL was 22 and 19 dB, respectively. A single-mode suppression ratio (SMSR) of more than 25 dB at an output power of 0.5 mW was also achieved for the VCSEL with aperture dimension of 2 × 4.6 µm2. Abstract

In this paper, we present monolithic 910 nm high-power vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) arrays with addressable sectors suitable for long-distance light detection and ranging (LIDAR). The peak output power of a single VCSEL array (163 devices) reaches 25.5 W under 30-ns-pulse operation. The peak power of the larger sectored 2×2 VCSEL array reaches 100 W at an operating current of 55 A. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on achieving a 100 W output power level with a 910 nm VCSEL array at such a low driving current. Abstract

We establish a novel method of controlling the transverse modes of vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) to achieve 1 mW single-fundamental-mode lasing. A dielectric mode filter is installed on top of the VCSEL. The dielectric layer (SiO2) is deposited and patterned to modify the mirror reflectivity across the oxide aperture via antiphase reflections. This mode selection is nondestructive and universally applicable for other structures under single transverse mode. Destructive etching techniques (dry/wet) or epitaxial regrowth are also not required. This method simplifies the preparation process and improves the repeatability of the device. Measurements show that under continuous-wave current injection, the side-mode suppression ratio exceeds 30 dB. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The b-delayed proton decay of 147Er is studied experimentally using the 68Ni+92 Mo reaction at a beam energy of 383 MeV. Based on a He-jet apparatus coupled with a tape transport system, the b-delayed proton radioactivities both from the ns1/2 ground state and the nh11/2 isomer in 147Er are identified by proton-g coincidence measurements. By analyzing the time distribution of the 4+ - 2+g transition in the grand-daughter nucleus 146Dy, a half-life of 1.6 +- 0.2 s is determined for the nh11/2 isomer in 147Er. The half-life for the ground state of 147Er is estimated to be 3.2 +- 1.2 s. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
