Nickel nanoparticles exhibit superior ferromagnetic properties. This has attracted great interest due to its significant potential applications in various fields. The properties of nanomaterials are greatly affected by the environmental conditions during the synthetization process. In this work, nickel nanoparticles were synthesized by pulsed laser ablation in distilled water, ethylene glycol, chitosan, gum Arabic and walnut oil. For all samples, the ablated process was conducted for 5 minutes. The optical properties of colloidal nanoparticles were investigated by UV-Visible spectroscopy and Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer. Data from experimental works released that walnut oil has highest absorbance intensity which might be contributed to the existence of alkene functional group.

The efforts in reducing food waste can lead to better water management with less land required for food production and indirectly having a positive impact on the livelihoods and the environment. In order to support the practice of reducing food waste in Brunei Darussalam, one must find ways to recycle or reuse them, particularly waste generated from fruit peels. This paper investigates the feasibility of utilising Durian (Durio zibethinus) rinds to remove pollutants in wastewater, namely Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Nitrates by the process called adsorption. Durian is a local fruit and has high consumption in the country. Hence, it produces a large amount of waste, particularly in the form of peels or rinds. In the present research, the fruit peels are treated by dehydration and carbonisation method prior to utilisation. The variable parameters will be investigated such as the effect on particle size, adsorbent dosage, pH, contact time, and agitation. The maximum COD removal percentage was found to be 68.2 % with an adsorption capacity of 690 mg/g. Overall, carbonised samples gave a better outcome than dehydrated samples. Possibly due to the presence of a unique pore structure in carbonised samples that allows organic matter to be adsorbed on the surface.

As large tracts of degraded peatlands are caused by conversion and fires, peat restoration is carried out to restore peat ecosystems to their natural condition and support the socioeconomics of communities around peatlands that are affected because they depend on the resources provided by peatlands as livelihoods. This study aims to see the implementation of peat restoration in the Rewetting, Revegetation, and Revitalization (3R) approach in Jambi Province. The research focuses on the economic revitalization of people’s livelihoods. This research method is exploratory qualitative, while data collection is through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature: data analysis techniques, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of research on the implementation of peat restoration in Jambi Province have been carried out since 2018; the implementation of the 3R has not been optimal, which is still far from the target set. In particular, assistance for the economic revitalization of people’s livelihoods lacks help, so the program’s sustainability is stopped halfway. In addition, the collaboration and coordination of the Regional Peat Restoration Team (TRGD) agencies did not go well.

Jambi Province is one of the areas most prone to forest destruction in Indonesia. The case of forest fires is an annual disaster that regularly occurs in Indonesia, including one in Jambi province. The problem of forest fires often occurs in Indonesia, whether human activities cause it or are caused by a long dry season. This study analyzes Sustainable Forest Governance from the point of view of the New Policy Strategy in Handling Forest Fires in Jambi Province. This research focuses on Jambi Province, one of Indonesia’s regions with the largest forest. This research method is qualitative exploratory with secondary data carried out to describe and describe the research. Data were collected from field interviews, online media, and related literature related to the research topic. The analysis technique uses the NVivo 12 plus data processing application, a qualitative document analysis tool with the help of a computer. Equipment. They are easy to use and can word-process and explore word frequency, attributes, and cases from big data. They also generate factor or sub-factor categories in journalistic and research applications related to the research topic. The study results show that the government’s program in making new policy strategies for handling forest fires in the province has several indicators, then the cooperation of actors in forest fire prevention in the region.

In this review, we touch on the historical overview of natural products discovery from soil and discuss their classification up to date. New advancement on innovation and technological pipeline that contributed on the foundation of isolation of microbial biosynthetic diversity across soil environmental community have revealed massive reservoirs of as yet untapped natural product chemistry. We highlight the successful strategies that has emerged and threats that must be overcome to enable the development of a high throughput approach for natural product discovery from complex microbial communities.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are popular and are used for surveillance and safety purposes, thus often include live video streaming. An attacker with knowledge of the flight controller’s settings can intercept the camera footage/stream. A virtual private network (VPN) connection is considered as one of the solutions in preventing unauthorised interception, but with a cost. In providing end-to-end encryption connection, the VPN connection can slow the wireless connection speed and, thus, impact the real-time streaming. This article describes the implementation of the IoT-based live video streaming system with VPN and analyses the live streaming performance based on quality of service (QoS) measurements. Comparative analysis between video streaming with and without VPN is presented.

Solid inorganic-based catalyst which mainly contains calcium oxide and magnesium oxide has been successfully prepared from local Aceh dolomite minerals. The calcination process of dolomite particles (150 μm) in the air environment for 4 hours changed those calcium and magnesium carbonates compounds into their oxide form, which are subsequently referred to as inorganic oxides. Furthermore, the calcined local dolomite has been chemically modified using alkaline metal precursors (lithium, sodium and cesium precursors). Physicochemical investigation on the modified dolomite indicated that introduction of lithium metal on modified dolomite surface has a positive impact on increasing the number and strength of basic sites on the catalyst. The modified catalyst had proved its catalytic activity for biodiesel synthesis with the yield values of 82;78;51 respectively.

Flooding is categorized as a natural disaster that occurs due to various climatic and geophysical factors. Malaysia is a lucky country as it experiences a tropical climate and generally protected from extreme drought. However, the states located along the east coast of the Peninsular Malaysia such as Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang always experienced a heavy flood, especially during the monsoon season due to high intensity of rainfall. The objectives of this paper were to simulate Flood Hydrographs for Various Storm Duration by using Hydrologic Engineering Centre-Hydrologic Modelling System (HEC-HMS), to investigate the location of floodplain at the catchment area of Sg. Kelantan by using River Analysis System (HEC-RAS), to identify the non-structural approach that can reduce the rate of flood based on its topography. By using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS software, the peak discharge from each rainfall stations for different average recurrence interval (ARI) were calculated. Various non-strctural measures to reduce the impacts of flood are discussed.

Hydroxyapatite, also known as HAp, Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 is a naturally present form of calcium phosphate, which make up a large portion of inorganic components in human bones. Because of its near resemblance in structure to natural bone, it has been commonly used in orthopaedic applications. The ecosystem is negatively impacted by large amounts of by-product waste from fisheries factories. Thus, the aim of this study is to extract the HAp from black tilapia fish bones (BTFB) from a fish fillet factory. Fish bone can serve as a low-cost source of HAp and contribute significantly to biomedical applications. The BTFB was calcined for 3 hours at 700 °C and 900 °C, respectively. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) revealed the presence of derived HAp, which matched data from the Joint Committee on Powder Diffraction Powder Standard (JCPDS). For functional group analysis, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) was used, and the organic compounds were removed throughout the calcination process according to the spectra. The chemical composition of Ca and P was revealed by Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDX), with traces of magnesium, Mg, and sodium, Na present. In the BTFB samples, the Ca/P molar ratio was determined to be 1.67 which is the stoichiometries HAp. These findings have potential as a biomaterial for biomedical applications.

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is a biomaterial with the chemical formula Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2. Normally, it was used and applied in biomedical applications, cooking recipes and healthy food products. Due to this, it has attracted the researcher to work on HAp synthesis and extraction. In this study, the hydroxyapatite was extracted from fresh water Black Tilapia Fish Scales (BTFS) was analysed. The crystallinity of the HAp was characterized by using an X-ray diffractometer (XRD) whereas the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis was used to characterize the presence of HAp from the samples. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) provided with an Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy, (EDS) was used to investigate the morphology and element of the hydroxyapatite powders. The BTFS samples were heated at 100 °C to composed and eliminated the remaining meat and other impurities. A mechanical crusher was applied to make a miniscule and fine hydroxyapatite powder using a thermal calcination technique using a furnace. The BTFS samples powder were calcined at a temperature of 900 °C for 3 hours correspondingly. The XRD spectra findings, uncovered the existence of the obtained BTFS HAp are articulate with Joint Committee on Powder Diffraction Powder Standard data (JCPDS) from the library. From the SEM results, HAp powder presence in hexagonal shape. The findings show the potential of producing high-value products from fishing waste, such as HAp with Ca/P ratio 1.74, for biomedical applications.

Age group classification is a complex task that is used to classify facial images or videos into predetermined age categories. It is an important task due to its numerous applications such as health, security, authentication system, recruitment, and also in intelligent social robots. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) has recently shown excellent performance in analysing human face images and videos. This paper proposed an age group classification task using CNN that trained and tested with an All-Age Face (AAF) dataset. FaceNet deep learning model that uses CNN was applied in this study to compute a 128-d embedding that quantifies the face of the age group. The experiment included two age groups: Adolescence and Mature Adulthood. The proposed age group classification model achieved 84.90% accuracy for the training images and 85.12% accuracy for the test images. The experimental results showed that CNN is capable of achieving competitive classification accuracy throughout two age groups in the AAF dataset with unbalanced data distribution.

This study aims to analyze the development of Aerotropolis in the Yogyakarta region with a development concept that prioritizes green development values. Aerotropolis is a multi-purpose development where the airport serves as a focal point and is surrounded by multi-purpose business districts and transportation systems. An airport in an area will almost certainly spur the development of the following industries: warehousing, real estate, aircraft repair shops, tourism and restaurants. This research is qualitative research using secondary data, namely: national, regional and district government documents in the form of the Basic Medium- and Long-Term Development Articles of Association and Regional Spatial Planning Plans. The results show that: the Aerotropolis development concept in Jogjakarta will have a good impact on the regional and national economy. This can be confirmed by the faster and easier movement of the economy between regions and countries. Also, the concept of Aerotropolis development in Jogja is carried out by paying attention to environmental, agricultural aspects and strengthening green infrastructure concepts.

The work environment and culture play an important role in increasing the work capacity of employees, the more conducive the work environment and work culture of an organization is, the more employee work capacity will be. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between work environment and work capacity of employees, and to analyze the relationship between work culture and work capacity of employees of the palm oil processing division of PT. PN XIV PKS Luwu. The analysis technique used is the Spearman Rank correlation test with the help of the SPSS application. The results of this study indicate that the work environment and work culture have a very weak correlation with work capacity, but the relationship between each variable and work capacity has a positive value.

The availability of watershed delineation that has been generated from DEM data is difficult to obtain and the accessibility of DEM data which are unrestricted and precise are hard to obtain in Malaysia. The aim of this study is to examine the accuracy of watershed delineation between Digital Elevation Model (DEM) from ASTER and SRTM in Johor State. In this study, free online data sources from USGS website are used to delineate watershed from ASTER and SRTM satellite imageries. The hydrological modelling tool namely ArcSWAT is utilized to delineate watersheds for both DEM datasets. Both DEM data that had been mosaiced using ERDAS imagine and their DEM is generated using ArcGIS. Watershed boundary for the whole Johor State is then being delineated by using ArcSWAT. ASTER and SRTM accuracies were verified using correlation analysis and mean center distance with data from Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID). Study indicated that DID watershed area is correlated to ASTER and SRTM at 67.60% and 67.85%. In addition, total mean center distance for ASTER and SRTM are 148.485 and 200.200 where it shows the total mean center distance of ASTER is almost close with DID. The results from this study have successfully indicated that both ASTER and SRTM DEMs are suitable for watershed delineation for Johor State at free and reliable source.

Walkability is one of the issues to be addressed in the planning of smart urban cities. Although, there is a substantial amount of studies on outdoor walking pedestrian, limited study has been done to address indoor walkability. Therefore, this study discussed the development of 3D indoor model to visualize the indoor walking environment carried out using mobile mapping system. The handheld scanner is used for its convenience to access narrow space and complex building structure. The indoor layout of the building is captured using this system by producing point clouds that represent the indoor environment. The building geometry and facilities are determined by point cloud segmentation to segment the same points into one group. The generation of 3D floor plan from point cloud provided a good visualization of indoor model and walking environment. The extraction of vector walking path is also useful to be displayed with the indoor model to make it easier for the pedestrians. The main objective of this paper is to determine the indoor walking path using mobile laser scanning. The define indoor walking path will be used to calculate the walkability index on the indoor building. Therefore, the calculated walkability index can enhance the walking behaviour by improving the facilities in the indoor building.

Fatalities about road accidents become one of the main issues in this country. The precaution step should be taken to create a map of the accident area to create awareness among road users. The problem is data about the accident cases get by a local authority does not provide the specific location of the accident cases. It only shows the number of accident cases in every section in Shah Alam. To solve this problem, data from social media will be used to get the specific location of accident cases around Shah Alam. This research aims to investigate the capability to extract data from twitter for the use of analytic purposes. There are 2 objectives used which is first, to analyse data from social media among the road user about the accident road on the hotspot area for analytic purpose. The second is to produce a map of the accident hotspot area in Shah Alam by using Twitter data. Methods use is divided by two which is one method in terms of coding by using Rstudio and another method is using ArcGIS software. There are 4 analysis was used which is data extraction analysis, data mining analysis, data usage analysis and data achieving analysis were done to produce the 2 types of result which are the location of accident cases that contain specific coordinate and a map of accident hotspot area in Shah Alam. As a conclusion, the objective of the research is successful by producing the 2 types of result and at the same time, the aim of the research was achieved by showed data that extract from Twitter can be used in creating a map of accident hotspot which is one of analytic purpose.

For many years of vehicle technology developments, people have a tendency to not be separated from it. Excessive reliance on vehicle especially personal cars causes large span of available spaces were dominated by it. This situation has led to many significant issues in both urban and rural area which include congestion, safety on the road, and environmental sustainability issues. In order to cater these degrading issues, the car free and walkable city concept was applied in this study. Through these concept, sequential reduction in the number of cars on the roads and shifting of people’s mode of transportation would be possible. The principle of walkability together with limitations of vehicle accessibility area as the criteria in car-free spatial modelling is applied and presented in terms of maps showing the areas to be designed as car-free zone. The percentage of Georgetown’s pedestrianized streets is determined in conjunction with an evaluation of the impact of car-free zones on the route, distance and time of travel, and also its traffic impact projections around the area. It is found from the results that every localized traffic has a longer traveling distance and much slower pace. However, the travel time is sometimes reduced due to the roads that have been diverted to allow for a higher travel speed.

Green synthesis of nanoparticles is crucial to effectively reduce the risk to the environment by eradicating hazardous components that are harmful to human health. The broad complications such as aggregation and oxidation of nanoparticles will potentially limit their usage. Gum Arabic (GA) has attained decent attention due to less toxicity and bio-compatibility with metals. Gold-nanoparticles (Au-NPs) have several applications in diagnosing cancer, targeted delivery of drugs and in cancer treatment. This project is conducted by synthesizing Au-NPs in GA solution via pulsed laser ablation in liquid (PLAL) technique at varied laser fluences. A Q-switched Nd:YAG laser with wavelength of 1064 nm was focused using a lens with a focal length of 80 mm to ablate a gold plate immersed in GA solution. Four different laser fluences were tested. The laser fluences were 0.203, 0.214, 0.250 and 0.272 J. The Au-NPs synthesized in the GA solution were then characterized using photoluminescene (PL) and UV-Visible double beam spectrometer (UV-Vis). The highest laser fluence has shown the highest intensity while the wavelength of all peaks is the same indicating the same nanomaterials being synthesized in each sample. The UV-Vis spectra indicated that the absorbance increases as the holding time is prolonged. It is believed that the formation of Au-NPs is a nucleating process and followed by a growing process.
