Abstract

For quasiperiodically forced (qpf) continuous circle maps with degree one, the set of fibred rotation numbers is a closed interval or a singleton. We show in this paper that if a number ρ is in the interior of this interval, then there exist ρ-bounded orbits. We also discuss extensions of the structure of Arnold tongues for qpf circle homeomorphisms to qpf continuous circle maps with degree one.

16. Effect of CeO2 doping on the coercivity of 2:17 type SmCo magnets

Abstract

The effects of doped CeO2 on the magnetic properties and microstructure are studied in 2:17 type SmCo magnets. With the increase of CeO2 from 0 wt.% to 3 wt.%, the coercivity of magnets increases from 22.22 kOe to over 29.37 kOe, which is an increase of more than 30%. When the doping content is lower than 1 wt.%, the remanence and magnetic energy product of the magnet remain almost constant. Both decrease sharply as the doping concentration further increases. After CeO2 doping, the oxide content in the magnet increases significantly and the Ce element is uniformly distributed in the magnet. Observing the magnetic domain reveals that doping CeO2 can refine the magnetic domains and make the magnetic domain wall more stable, resulting in a significant increase in the coercivity of the magnets.

26. Correlation between Brightness Variability and Spectral Index Variability for Fermi Blazars

Abstract

In this work, the γ-ray photon flux, photon spectral index (α ph), variability index ( log V . I . ), and the synchrotron peak frequency ( log ν p ) are compiled for 851 common blazars from the 3FGL and 4FGL catalogs and Fan et al. to investigate variability properties for Fermi blazars. Our calculations and analyses reach following results: (1) the averaged luminosity, spectral index, and variability index of FSRQs are higher than those of BL Lacs for the whole sample. (2) It is found that the spectral index variation is closely anti-correlated with the luminosity variation implying that the spectrum becomes harder when the source becomes brighter in the γ-ray band. (3) Positive correlations are found between the photon spectral index and both γ-ray luminosity and variability index ( log V . I . ) for the whole sample, but anti-correlations are found in the two correlations for FSRQs. For BL Lac subclass, there is a marginal anti-correlation between the photon spectral index and both γ-ray luminosity, and a positive correlation between the photon spectral index and the variability index ( log V . I . ). We think those two positive correlations found for the whole sample are apparent. (4) We adopted the SVM machine learning method to separate BL Lacs and FSRQs in the α ph versus log L γ and α ph versus log V . I . plots and proposed that a BCU is an FSRQ candidate if it satisfies log V . I . > − 10.119 α + 24.855 , or α ph > − 0.048 log L γ + 4.498 , otherwise, it is a BL Lac candidate. Our classification results are quite consistent with those by Kang et al (2019).

37. Research on the ions’ axial temperature of a sympathetically-cooled 113Cd+ ion crystal*

Abstract

Molecular dynamics simulation of a sympathetically-cooled 113Cd+ ion crystal system is achieved. Moreover, the relationship between ions’ axial temperature and different electric parameters, including radio frequency voltage and end-cap voltage is depicted. Under stable trapping condition, optimum radio frequency voltage, corresponding to minimum temperature and the highest cooling efficiency, is obtained. The temperature is positively correlated with end-cap voltage. The relationship is also confirmed by a sympathetically-cooled 113Cd+ microwave clock. The pseudo-potential model is used to illustrate the relationship and influence mechanism. A reasonable index, indicating ions’ temperature, is proposed to quickly estimate the relative ions’ temperature. The investigation is helpful for ion crystal investigation, such as spatial configuration manipulation, sympathetic cooling efficiency enhancement, and temporal evolution.
