1. A new rear-illuminated vanadium-compensated 4H-SiC photoconductive switches with AlN anti-reflection coating

Abstract

This paper presents a new rear-triggered vanadium-compensated 4H silicon carbide (4H-SiC) photoconductive semiconductor switch (PCSS) with aluminum nitride (AlN) anti-reflection coating on the back of PCSS device. Characteristics of PCSS are investigated by using semiconductor device simulation software Silvaco-TCAD. The switch substrates were doped with vanadium to make the substrates highly insulated. The on-state performance of the photoconductive switch was tested under pulsed light conditions with a wavelength of 532 nm and an optical power density of 6.8 MW/cm2 at a bias voltage of 2 kV. And the bias voltage was increased from 0 V to 10 kV in the absence of light trigger conditions, and its off-state characteristics were tested. Results show that the electric field strength between electrodes can be reduced by using rear-triggered structure, the switch breakdown voltage is over 80 kV DC, the maximum transient current is about 137 A, and the tail current almost disappears when the pulse light is turned off. In addition, the breakdown voltage of the rear-triggered PCSS to be higher than that of the front-triggered one. After adding AlN anti-reflection coating on the switch, the maximum transient of the switch and the optical utilization efficiency of laser energy are significantly improved, the maximum transient current of the switch was greatly improved from137 A to 150 A, which was increased by about 9.4 %. In addition, the effects of substrate thickness and optical power density on the switching performance were evaluated.

Abstract

Foamed propellants based on polymer bonded nitramine explosives show high burning rates due to their porous structure and showed great potential for combustible cartridge case. Thus, the in-depth study of the co-combustion behavior of the foamed propellant and matching propellant is necessary. In this paper, closed bomb tests were used to study the co-combustion performance of nitramine propellant (RGD7) and surface coated nitramine propellant (SC-RGD7) mixed with foamed propellant. The influence of foamed propellant’s proportion in mixed charges on the combustion behavior was studied and analysed. It was found that the maximum dynamic vivacity and the value of B at maximum dynamic vivacity of mixed charge increased with the increase of added foamed propellant, resulting in better combustion progressivity. Meanwhile, the ignition delay of foamed propellant influenced the first stage of combustion, and the penetration combustion of foamed propellant influence the middle stage.

3. Analysis of runoff variation characteristics in Yishuhe River Basin

Abstract

Yishuhe River Basin is located in the northeast of the Yishusi River Basin, with the watershed area of about 18200 km2. It is necessary to analyze the variety characteristics of runoff in Yishuhe River Basin, and it will provide technical support for flood control and drought relief. Based on the past continuous 60 years’ data of runoff measured at 2 hydrometric stations and precipitation at 23 precipitation stations in Yishuhe River Basin, this study analyzed the monthly and annual variation characteristics of the runoff in Yishuhe River Basin using some indexes and methods such as complete regulation coefficient and nonuniformity coefficient, concentration ratio, concentration period, Man-Kendall trend test and mutation detection, and so on. The research results indicate that the distribution of annual runoff in Yishuhe River Basin is uneven, the monthly maximum precipitation occurs in August generally, and the continuous four months’ runoff even accounts for 80% of that of the year. The annual runoff shows a decreasing trend with time at Linyi station in Yihe River and Daguanzhuang station in Shuhe River, and the tendency of runoff reduction is significant in Yihe River with an abrupt point happening in 1966 and 2013.

Abstract

According to the complex real-time water situation, the real-time simulation of large-scale floods is very important for flood prevention practice. Model robustness and running efficiency are two critical factors in successful real-time flood simulation. This paper proposed a robust, two-dimensional, shallow water model based on the unstructured Godunov- type finite volume method. A robust wet/dry front method is used to enhance the numerical stability. An adaptive method is proposed to improve the running efficiency. The proposed model is used for large-scale flood simulation on real topography. Results compared to those of MIKE21 show the strong performance of the proposed model.

Abstract

The magnetic properties of Fe70-xDyxZr8Mo5W2B15 (0  x  5) bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) are studied using dc and ac susceptibility measurements. A re-entrant spin glass behaviour is observed in the BMGs and the phenomenon is ascribed to Dy-microalloying-induced site frustration. The magnetic properties of the BMGs are found to be tunable by appropriate selection of the Dy content, and the schematic magnetic phase diagram as a function of Dy content is derived. Abstract

The crystal growth of Y-Ba-Cu-O is explored by means of laser-heated pedestal growth (LHPG), which is a new crucible-free floating zone technology for growing oxide crystals from the melt. The result shows that the superconducting phase of YBa2Cu3O7-x melts incongruently, and is separated into two phases of (Y2BaCuO5 and BaCuO2) because of a peritectic reaction at 1010 degrees C during solidification. However, an oriented crystal in which the two phases coexist can be obtained by controlling the growth rate, and then may be transformed into superconductor with Tc above 90 K; such a crystal presents certain textural features following suitable heat treatment. The crystal structure and orientation after solidification and heat treatment are studied with the help of X-rays on electron microprobe and on optical microscope.

16. High-efficient catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol based on reusable Ag nanoparticles/graphene-loading loofah sponge hybrid.

Abstract

Noble metal nanoparticles (NPs) such as Au and Ag have shown many applications in the field of catalysis, sensing etc. due to their excellent photoelectric properties. But agglomeration and a low recovery rate are big problems for their applications. In this research, a novel Ag NPs/graphene (reduced graphene oxide)-loading loofah sponge (Ag NPs/RGO-LS) was synthesized through a one-step reduction method. Where the RGO is used as a nano-support with the high specific surface area and the high conductivity to prevent the agglomeration of Ag NPs and provide a conductive layer. The natural, green, low-cost and high-yield LS is designed as a macro-support to reduce the loss of Ag NPs during recycling. The as-prepared Ag NPs/RGO-LS is stable, uniform, and exhibits high efficiency and reusability in the catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) with a high rate constant of 1.893 min−1 as well as an average conversion of 98% in 6 min during five cycles. Abstract

The application of Au nanoparticles (Au NPs) often requires surface modification with chemical surfactants, which dramatically reduce the surface activity and increase the chemical contamination and cost of Au NPs. In this research, we have developed a novel Au NPs/reduced graphene oxide/Ni foam hybrid (Au NPs/RGO/NiF) by in situ reduction through ascorbic acid and replacement reaction. This method is green, facile and efficient. The Au NPs are free of chemical surfactants and are homogeneously distributed on the surface of the RGO/NiF. The as-prepared Au NPs/RGO/NiF hybrid is uniform, stable and exhibits not only a high reduction efficiency for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol with a catalytic kinetic constant of up to 0.46 min−1 (0.15 cm3 catalysis) but also a sensitive and selective detection of H2O2 with a detection limit of ∼1.60 μM. Abstract

WOS: 000389144400002, By analyzing 2.93 fb(-1) data collected at the center-of-mass energy root s = 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute branching fraction of the semileptonic decay D+ -> (K) over bar (0)e(+)nu(e) to be B(D (+) -> (K) over bar (0)e(+)nu(e)) = (8.59 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.21)% using (K) over bar (0) -> K-S(0) -> pi(0) pi(0), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
