Climate change and Australian Government climate change strategies are expected to change the Australian economy, society, and environment. Business, industry, households and communities will be affected in one form or another. Remaining responsive to existing and emerging information needs of policy makers, academics and the community is a key objective of Australia's national statistical office, the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The article presents developments of the environmental policy in Tehran and in European. It includes the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea which tackles several issues including the adoption of the Strategic Convention Action Programme and the development of priority Protocols to the Tehran Convention which includes the area of conservation and rational use of the aquatic resources. Another is the agreed climate package by the European Union (EU) which aims to lower carbon emission that contributes to climate change. Also, is the developments of environmental protection in the EU.

The article provides information on the programme areas of the Montevideo Programme along with its objectives, strategies and actions. It cites several programme areas which include the effectiveness of environmental law; the conservation, management, and sustainable use of natural resources; and the challenges for environmental law. The programme will discuss the effective ways on how to implement and enforce the environmental law and enhance the conservation protection, integrated management and sustainable use of freshwater resources. Information about the Second International Symposium for the laureates of the Elizabeth Haub Prizes for Environmental Law and Diplomacy that was held in September 20-22, 2006 in Murnau, Germany is presented. The Symposium was opened by Helga Haub, who welcomed all laureates present. Various presentations by laureates covered the areas: multilateralism, compliance, environmental justice, right to information, climate change,international responsibility and national and regional matters.

This article focuses on the adoption of a Communication by the European Commission on February 9, 2005, that sets out future policies of climate change. This includes a set of proposals designed to structure the future negotiations of the European Union (EU) with its global partners over climate change policies after 2012, when the first commitment period under the Kyoto Protocol ends. These proposals open the door to bringing on board both major emitters and also rapidly emerging economies. The document stresses that the transition to a climate-friendly society offers economic opportunities for the EU.
