The effect of Ag addition on the crystal growth has been investigated in Bi cuprate superconductors. Bi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-Ag-O superconducting thin films were prepared by the RF sputtering method. the XRD pattern shows that these films are amorphous before annealing. Dispersed isolated atoms of Ag grow up to a pure metallic sphere of Ag during annealing. Neither silver alloy nor silver compound is formed. This was confirmed by EPMA and XRD. The lattice parameter c of the matrix does not change with increasing Ag content
