Abstract

The article presents a study that investigated the effects of a high-fat diet on serum leptin and adiponectin levels, leptin messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) expression and puberty onset in weaning female rats treated with a high-fat diet. Details relating to the female Wistar-Imamichi rats used in the study are presented. It discusses the quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) performed in the study, and the data and findings obtained from the study.
